Hey! Professional cosmetologist of over 15 years here..... in my opinion, you are doing a fantastic job!!! Cutting your own hair can be difficult, and using clippers is a smart way to do it!! Keep up the good work!!!

I like the razor technique. Looks reasonably controllable... so long as you don't slip, lol!

My hair has gotten so long and while I love it like that, it sucks pin curling it for the set to come out super loose and not holding shapes well. I deal with a lot of split ends atm and already trimmed a lot away. But I’m going in with the clippers too next week I think. I just set them again yesterday and don’t want to waste „the waves“ I created this week. 😅very reassuring this video, thank you

Aside from the horseshoe cut, are there layers in your hair?

Hey, nope, just the horseshoe cut :) but my hair is bleached so naturally there is a lot if breakage so it’s kinda thiner towards the ends. If you hair is super full I would consult your hairdresser if it’s better to thin out the ends or not. Anyway you can start with a horseshoe cut, do a few roller sets and see if it’s working out for you or you need to change something up, but usually just a horseshoe cut would be ideal

Looks great. But I'd recommend being more careful with the term horseshoe as, in the US, this refers to a very short barber style cut.

Oh yes I see it sometimes when I google the term “horseshoe cut” for references. Anyway I think if someone wants this cut done professionally they will need to either go to someone who specializes in it if they have one in their area, or show a million pictures to their hairdresser to make sure they understand it fully because it’s not a haircut hairdressers are used to doing these days
