"A new car! It's the Pontiac Sunfire Convertible. This 6-Cylinder vehicle has an automatic transmission, bucket seats, dual airbags, and California emissions, and it can be yours, if the price is right! Back to you, Bob." - or something like that. Thanx for sharing. What sweet memories!
These take me back. Nobody can be sad either watching The Price is Right or listening to the old school music from this American institution. I know I can't be sad. This is awesome.
This seemed like this cue was used more for the second car reveal. I remember hearing it for Card Game, One Away, Dice Game. I also love the extra cue that was used for a Temptation prize
This cue is one of the many reasons why the 1983 TPIR package was the best out of all the cue packages. It doesn't seem dated like the 70s or the '94 package.
they re-aired the reruns of "decades week" on price, in which during the first 2 days, 70's and 80's, they used their respective cues might I add, and when 80's day hit, I thought, they gotta use this, they gotta use this! low and behold, when they played 1 away, there it was!
The outro to this cue is amazing, building on the energy of the track into an exciting crescendo. The high frequency sound J-Dog commented on sounds like a percussion instrument (likely common in Latin/Salsa music) and is not noise (its rhythm and pitch fit the rest of the cue). It sounds odd because part if it is likely being clipped off due to compression. If you look at this through a spectrum analyzer, you can see this instrument responding right at the edge of that high end. The high end of TPIR cues has always been very brittle, likely due to the recording equipment used. So whatever piece of percussion used for this track wasn't fully fleshed out in the mix resulting in a buzz.
I just remembered that also the bit from roughly 2:58 to 3:10 was used for car descriptions from time to time on the Bob Eubanks version of Card Sharks.
You mean this one? It's actually a piece of stock music called "Clownin' Around" by Steve Kujala, from the Killer Tracks (Universal Production Music) library: ua-cam.com/video/Q2fpqhtQYtk/v-deo.html
Every early morning... Late, IT'S A NEW CAAAAAAAAAAARRR!!!!!!!!!! A contestant named Late gets wild. It's a new 1990 Plymouth Acclaim sedan that comes with standard equipment. Play 3 STRIKES!
For some reason, I always thought this theme would make a good theme for its own game show. Didn't they borrow from this cue for the theme to "The Better Sex?"

I could have sworn on the first episode of the Drew Era I heard a remake of this but I could be wrong

That flute solo is amazing!!!
And was perfect for the Temptation game
And was perfect also when doing small prize or grocery descriptions during seasons 11 and 12!
@@Krg8485 Temptation proved that time and time again.

The Best Tpir music cue ever!!
The opening segment was first used for car descriptions late in season 11, and was used very frequently in season 12.
Thank you, Edd Kalehoff, for giving my life purpose & meaning through these classic music cues from "TPiR"!
Don't forget, Edd also composed for some of Nickelodeon's kid game shows now owned by Fremantle-Media.
@@Rlotpir1972 I remember the ones from " Fun House".
Love this cue. Isn't the internet amazing? To be able to find this stuff online.
I really like the music cue played on TPIR slots app for The Spelling Bee game. It's awesome!
E. W.Scripps might use this for the Scripps Spelling Bee heard locally on WBLQ 1230/103.1

I love this music so much. TPiR had some amazing music. My favorite music out of all the game shows.
This definitely gives me Lupin III vibes

One of my favorite pricing games and tunes.

that’s true! a lot of the MG era shows tended to recycle cues.
I love this 😊

@jhecht424 Yep. In fact, the Eubanks CS used a crapload of TPIR car cues back then.
It's not just used for Spelling Bee. Most other car games use it. One Away, just as frequently.
