I love how confident the announcers are in calling every shot and then being wrong so often.

Yeah they are yapping rather than commenting. Should he an occasional insightful comment not nonstop jabbering and armchair playing! Kinda ruins the viewing experience. They could learn something by watching professional UK snooker commentary.

46:35 Thorsten could have slow rolled onto the one ball blocking the 15 bank, eight blocked the 14, forcing Alex to shoot at the 9 he just tied up

The rack at 1:49:01 by Alex had a stripe in each corner, these are supposed to be one solid one stripe. I get that its a gentlemen's game, however if you have rules and a referee there he should be attentive to the game and correct such things as the game goes. Also the constant flubbering of the magic rack drives me nuts. I say have the referee rack all racks the same, clean the cue ball after each game, and remove the magic rack immediately after the break for a more professional appearing and consistent game. I get that you cant do this in all tournament matches but at least the announced and streamed/televised games. A direct over head view to cut to would be appreciated too.

Unlike snooker where the ref is always behind the shooter they couldn't even find the ref when the one player wanted to lift the rack off the table with balls on it. He ended up using the chalk to mark where the balls were. Amateurish compared to snooker in so many ways. Noisy bar. Few people watching. 2 camera angles. No replays. I love playing 8ball but much prefer to watch snooker.

This table is somehow playing a bit weird. Both players seem to have trouble getting shape consistently. And these are two great position players. I am learning a few new ways to try to get back in line

eight ball played by world class players is not that complicated, so a 60 second clock is a good idea. I hate watching alex show so much angst unnecessarly. One pocket takes a little more thought, but not eight ball.

I missed most of this match because I kept falling asleep waiting for someone to shoot.

both these guys are straight pool experts, so why the sloppy position? The table ought to be figured out early on in the set

Very boring. Unsportmanlike conduct by Alex at 2:24:00, screaming out when it wasn't his turn at the table.

one of the worst high level professional level matches I have ever seen. Alex has become almost unbearable with his slow play - Thorsten seems to have caught a bit of the slow play germ in this match and WTH was up with the speed of the top and bottom cushions on that table. Tiny pockets, stupid fast end cushions and slow play make for a very dissatisfying watch for us viewers. Every professional pool match regardless the discipline should have a shot clock - you guys have hard enough time keeping a faithful viewership as it is much less building your audience and slow play isn't helping one bit.
I never like playing on tables with tiny pockets because it really makes it too difficult to move the cue ball - obviously the top pros struggle with it too. The game needs to grow but it just is not going to happen with tricked out pockets and cushions. Boooo! and thumbs down big time on this match.

Where's the bloody SHOT CLOCK? Commentators were terrible at calling the shots for this match. Also it would be nice if John Leyman could let someone with some charisma do the announcing. Ok that is all for now lol.
