Hey Yuzo! I always see interviews from you talking about yours influences when making game music. I would like to say that you made a legion of eletronic music lovers (even in U.S. and Europe) because your music. Most of us, when as children, didn't have contact with this kind of music, so THANK YOU SO MUCH Maestro Yuzo, we'll be always grateful!!
This version is truly fantastic! I love just how in harmony both YM2151 and YM2608 sound, playing off each other, making this theme sound better than ever.
Yuzu Koshiro, you're the best. Very few composers engage like this with their community. I love having the opportunity to see a bit of the "behind the scenes" of your music. Thank you!
Real hardware really does hit different. And I agree with the description - EO5's got one of my favourite battle themes in the entire franchise, so I was very glad that you chose it! Thanks for taking a little time out of your schedule to take on that silly little request of mine from a few videos back.
My friend linked me to this before, but I didn't realize it was a cover from the original composer! I'm playing through Etrian Odyssey 5 for the first time, and this is such a fun battle theme.
The etrian odyssey games are fantastic as is, very well programmed with great premises... but your music is really what elevates them to be some of the best experiences someone can have in the medium. Please never stop uploading these. It might sound corny to say, but you're a huge inspiration to me in my day-to-day. Thank you.
Characters' voices in my head are telling me to use Union Attack! Brings back memories of the time when I rediscovered EO immediately purchased the FM DLC, truly I was missing the original DS soundfront. Blasting the excellent FM jazz theme all day!!!
man, your music is amazing. and the fact that you make FM versions of your own work is so cool to me. it shows a lot of passion for your craft, and as an artist, i respect that so much. thank you for making all this!
Also thank you for all the years of great Sega Genesis tracks in games you have contributed to over the decades you have made my childhood a enjoyable one.
This is my favorite battle theme from the series as well. I especially love the break down. Could even be it's own piece! So many changes going on and keeps my adrenaline pumping. I do not recommend listening to this if you are driving. You will end up breaking all speed limits. Thank you so much for mixing YM2151 and YM2608 for us to enjoy!
I already loved the original orchestral track and its FM version, but this arranged version might be my favourite! Thanks a lot for sharing it, Koshiro-san!
"This song is seriously my favorite out of all the battle themes after series 4." Honestly, the first battle theme of all the games you compose for are the most fun. They're all upbeat and exciting. This praise also extends to 7th dragon's DS/1-3's first battle themes. ( I still can't decide if the DS battle theme or 3's battle theme is better ) The only exception being EO1's second battle theme. That one is awesome too without being quite as serious as most of the other game's second battle theme.
Classy! Brilliant work, dear Yuzo, a blessing to my ears, I wasn't online for a week on yt. Very colourful and delightful sounds of favourite soundchips arranged by a true master. Bravo!
Yuzo, have you considered making in-depth composition & FM synth tutorials in your own style? The latter in particular does not have a lot of documentation and resources online, and having advice from one of the masters would be amazing! Maybe it is just my (very) novice impression, but it feels like a lot of VST and trackers expect you to have advanced knowledge, and knowing how to recreate and exploit chip limitations (and where to take liberties!) takes a lot of experience. There is also so much choice, between VOPM, the Plogue VST suite, etc. Also, having a deep insight on your workflow would be very interesting and eye-opening! Your work is inspiring new generations of composers and FM is seeing a little surge in popularity these past few years thanks to nostalgia, but also curious, younger people who haven't known the MD era. It is truly a great time to appreciate FM! I will never say it enough, thank you for your wonderful music!
I appreciate getting your enthusiastic messages. I've been thinking about putting together videos to demonstrate how to craft game sound using sound chips and musical methods on UA-cam for some time now. However, my composition workload is currently taking up most of my time, so I can only work on those videos as a pastime during my free time. As you may be aware, creating those technical videos takes a lot of effort and time. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to getting around to making them someday.
Oh, I can't separate the sound of the YM2151 and YM2608 ))) On my ears they both sounds almost identical - the cool authentic 4-op FM-sound (a bit same to YM2612/YM3438). Maybe I just not familiar enough with them, anyway the arrangement is just an awesome!
I utilize the custom-made 4759player, which features both the YM2151 and YM2608 onboard. I manage it with the MAmidiMEmo VST plugin, enabling me to load and operate various sound chips within a single instance and record through the 4759player's audio output.
Interesting that this is your favorite battle theme after 4. Can you possibly comment on whether there's a chance we'll see new versions of 4 and 5, now that the remasters of 1-3 are being released? Or maybe the Untold versions? PS the link to the original version doesn't seem to work on my end
Thanks for your message, but I regret to inform you that I'm not responsible for providing information or answering questions about the future releases of games from Atlus. For me, personally, I definately hope they make them.
Sometimes I use the Opsix to explore new ideas for FM synthesis with its cutting-edge features. However, I mostly stick to the Yamaha DX series, which I'm more familiar with.
Hello Yuzo, if I don't mind asking if you're making a Japanese Version of Starry Night (Future Ver.) from WMMT6/WMMT6RR. I mean it's fine if you deny the request, just wanna request if you wanna make a japanese version of it. Thanks. --somebodytomove
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm glad you're interested in creating a special remix of the song. First, we need to get permission from BNG before proceeding. I can create the remix once we obtain permission. Personally, I would love to work on it.
Yuzo Koshiro out-koshiroing himself. Gotta love this

Better yet recreate it on an Yamaha SY-99, if you like FM that thing is the holy grail.

I love how soft it sounds, really cool! It's both relaxing and exciting at the same time.
The mark of many good battle themes: casual hype!
My friend linked me to this before, but I didn't realize it was a cover from the original composer!

Blasting the excellent FM jazz theme all day!!!
the previous FM version was my favorite but i think this one is even better!
2:41 This section right here is just brilliant. Def one of my favorite RPG battle themes. Great work, and nice arrangement!
We are truly blessed that you would take the time to prepare all of this for us to see! Thank you!
Absolutely legendary.
Love it! Always been a fan of EO, and your music in particular.
man, your music is amazing. and the fact that you make FM versions of your own work is so cool to me. it shows a lot of passion for your craft, and as an artist, i respect that so much. thank you for making all this!
A wonderful way to start the day.
Thank you as always for your wonderful work Yuzo.
Also thank you for all the years of great Sega Genesis tracks in games you have contributed to over the decades you have made my childhood a enjoyable one.
Another fantastic tune. You are one of the most influential musicians in my musical journey. Thanks Yuzo!

Excellent arrangement Yuzo! Etrian Odyssey's compositions are perfect in FM sound. I hope to hear more!
YM2151 and YM2608, truly a great combo! Excellent work.
I already loved the original orchestral track and its FM version, but this arranged version might be my favourite! Thanks a lot for sharing it, Koshiro-san!
Incredible way to brighten up my morning. Thank you providing so many beautiful memories for me, Koshiro-san
Amazing! This song have been playing in loop in my head for weeks
This is straight up genius!
I don't know which I like more: this track or the fact that Yuzo seems to personally ♥ every single comment on all his videos.
Thank you kindly, sir. I make an effort to press the like buttons as frequently as I can during my leisure time as I enjoy reading.😁
Awesome arrangement! This pumps up people's blood, that's for sure haha. Thank you for dropping this sick song, Koshiro-san!
Wonderful composition and sound as always ❤ Thanks for the video!
Love the synth brass lead. With slight haas effect on it.
Love the Etrian drops, just in time for the HD releases :D
How cool Yuzo. Epoch making music
More information for me to copy in my own Cubase projects 😈😈
I just can't stop listening. I always want to know what will happen next!
Oh yeah this is the good stuff.
Thank you for making a new Sega Genesis game I can hardly wait to play earthion.

Wow ❤
Which software you usually use for music composition? People say FL Studio is best for making game music. What do you think?
greetings from POLAND
It's a thought-have you ever tried taking TokiTowa and giving it the FM treatment?
how to you get it to play on the real soundchip in the DAW?
I utilize the custom-made 4759player, which features both the YM2151 and YM2608 onboard. I manage it with the MAmidiMEmo VST plugin, enabling me to load and operate various sound chips within a single instance and record through the 4759player's audio output.

You are challenged by Pokémon Trainer Yuzo!
I haven't been able to keep up with all yer FM rearrangements lately, Yuz, have you been making much use of the Korg Opsix in any of your remixes?
Sometimes I use the Opsix to explore new ideas for FM synthesis with its cutting-edge features. However, I mostly stick to the Yamaha DX series, which I'm more familiar with.
