This series pretty much respected all of Starscreams traits from the original G1. Including his ability to somehow come back from the dead. A welcomed addition is that he is actually a powerful and dangerous fighter.

TBF "tachyon" isn't a nonsense term. It's the name of an old theoretical particle (which we are now almost sure doesn't exist) that has imaginary mass. According to the equations of special relativity, a particle with imaginary mass would always travel faster than light. A "tachyon transmitter" is a scientifically sound form of FTL communication... or at least it was, many decades ago, back in the days of classic Star Trek.

Man, Animated's Megatron is so badass. Killing Starscream over and over again never seems to get old. :) Still, part of me wishes that they had shown a few glimpses of other Decepticons hiding around the galaxy during Megatron's speech montage. Oh well.
You know, Megatron is kinda stupid. He clearly saw that Starscream's spark was gone, and he repeatedly kills him over and over. You'd think after the third maybe fourth assassination attempt he'd have Starscream's body examined to find out how he keeps coming back.
It was probably a fun exercise for Megatron. He just struck him down again and didn't waste further time and energy wondering about whatever the fuck Starscream was up to this time.
I like to think he did it just as satisfaction. Imagine being able to repeatedly kill someone you hate: and if you’re megatron, you’d make use of that as often as it presents itself.
It's funny that Megatron knew he extinguished Starscream's spark and yet they didn't know that he had a shard of the AllSpark jammed in his head.
