The thing about Lana, even if she does not receive the accolades she deserves, her artistry is so rich and pure that she can do WHATEVER SHE WANTS and could sell it to us as what's been missing from our lives. The fact that Taylor Swift has acknowledged Lana multiple times and then on musics biggest stage makes me have immense respect for her. I am not a HUGE swiftie fan but I know that shes a trailblazer artist because of her contemporary appeal and even though this might not have been in the best taste considering how sad Lana was, Taylor did the best she could to keep those tears from falling down her friends face in the heat of yhe moment and she didn't have to humble herself and use her enormous platform to support Lana. I also think Jay Z's comments earlier when receiving his award were most likely referencing this moment everyone in the music industry saw coming. very deserved. midnights is such an incredible album. you need to actually listen to the songs, the production, the lyrics, the meaning. some songs are very deep and some can be as playful as karma and uplifting like bejeweled and antihero. i expected midnights to be snubbed and was ready to mourn. but i’m so so so glad that the album and taylor got this achievement. very well deserved, once again for the fourth time.
