- Kaushiki Chakraborty ji performing Raag Megh at our Malhar Utsav organized in June 2016. The performance was in two parts. In the first part, she performed Raag Megh bada khayal and various other compositions. For the second half, she started with Raag Des, went on to Raag Mira Ki Malhar, then Yaad Piya ki Aai and ended with Rangi Sari Gulabi Chunariya. All the parts have been uploaded.

Aug 04, 2021.. im started listening this rendition at 3.00pm @ 3.10 it started raining with dark clouds although today it was raining since morning.. it was special. Awesome singing, its because at start she comes to ground level, because the MC puts so much praising on the intro of the artist, which should not be done in the beginning, apart from that it was first time that i felt so much pull towards the raag. I felt in the beginning the alaap was like karnatic music. I believe Goodess Saraswatti has blessed her with this raag.

You are so accomplished and famed artist that uttering any words about your artistry is an act of audacity. I do not understand vocal as much I can understand tabla or Indian purcusion. But recently I started to believe that I would like perhaps your semiclassical work more than khayals, your voice sounded more natural there. My benchmark was none but your guru and father only. But this piece is a the class. Your hard work and talim shows the rigour and endeavours here. Fame is not earned easy. 🙏

Very nice presentation. Megh, generally known as a masculine raag, better sounds in male voice. But, Kaushiki ji could bring the full mood. Thanks for sharing. And looking forward for many more.

One more thing. Even though Malkauns, Bhairav, Hindol, Deepak, Shri and Megh have been described as six “Purush” raag in our Shastras. But I personally believe that it is the way one renders a raag gives it masculine or famine interpretation.

Excellent concert.along with kaushiki the accampanying artistes on harmonium and tabla are up to the task. A request to kaushiki not to interrupt and talk unless absolutely necessary.
