  • The Lavaredo Ultra Trail is one of the most iconic ultra races in the world, set in the stunning Dolomites of Italy. With 120 kilometers (about 75 miles) and over 5,800 meters (19,000 feet) of elevation gain, this race is a true test of endurance and willpower. The course takes runners through breathtaking landscapes, including the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and features rugged trails, steep climbs, and technical descents.
    This race was different from my usual experiences, and I didn't find the joy I normally feel while running ultras. It's been a tough journey, but I'm taking the lessons learned to come back stronger in future races.
    Thanks for joining me on this journey, and stay tuned for more adventures!

    Thank you Marcus for the wonderful scenery video and recognition. Next time (if ever happens again) just lay down, relax and wait for me and then we can search together for a happy thoughts...The key is, as I mentioned, to focus (completely) as much as you can on something else when on that (bed) state, because if you don't and you still focused on the state you are, that state remains and even gets worse as you experienced. So now you have experience and next time you won't go from the beginning but from that experience. See you at Kullamannen, if not before.

      @@MarcusKjellberg Jeff Pelletier may inspired me to try out trail running & start dreaming about UTMB, but you, Marcus, were the one that made me sign up for Kullamannen 100k race (still not ready for the 100M challenge). I am extremely happy to find out that I will run somewhere nearby you and Ivi this November as you both are legends. Thanks for the content you create!

    Congrats for the race and the video you've made! It tells a pretty incredible story and being there at this race myself, I can say you captured the beauty of this race and those mountains!
    Regarding your DNF, congrats for doing 97 km up to that checkpoint, that no easy feat to do while having stomach issue! What happened do you, happened to my as well starting exactly where your problems started, at Cimabanche and struggled up to Col Gallina, where you have DNF. I was about to quit at the same checkpoint, I was 95% sure I wanted to quit, but luckily, my friend who helped as a support crew pushed me to eat a hot sandwich, a fresh Coke and a bottle of sparking water from the cabin nearby. And a trip to toilet helped a lot. Otherwise I would've DNF, 100%
    Again, congratulations for your awesome effort to run 97 km, and find the energy to film it and speak to the camera as well. It's not easy at all!

    Marcus, you try hard, man of steel. To tell the truth, it was incredibile to see you back in race, Lazarus from the grave, a sort of. Resilient is your second name. Looking your great video, I think you struggled so hard for 12 hours or more. Question: no trouble with glycemia? That was great. You wasn't alle to assume food for a day. Good luck and best eishes for next races. I hope to see you in Itsly next year. Take care.

    Those views were just spectacular! A shame that you felt so bad you weren't fully able to appreciate them at the time. You really soldiered on to the bitter end and gave it your all. Your wife is a tough cookie who got you back up that hill again, my woman would be worried sick if I called her in the state you were in.

    Well done filming this race despite the GI issues! Such a shame to have such a lovely day during such an amazing race. Well, I had the same race evolution during the UTMB last year so I do understand the frustration. Fortunately I managed to enjoy both my Lavaredo races, the last one in 2022. My advice.. let's do this again m8! 😄🤙

    Thanks for another great video! Sorry you had a bad race. Do you know what might have caused it? Would you make any changes for the next race? • @MarcusKjellberg
      @MarcusKjellberg  12 днів тому

      That is not what I meant. If you never DNF you might not test the limits and if you test your limits you will at some point also reach your limit which results in a DNF. In this race the plan was to enjoy and stay in the comfort zone but I failed

    I think your main problem was dehydration.. and toomuch calculating and focusing on time.. you should try to enjoy from start, and when you stomach started to hurt, you'd have to have some coca cola asap, and if it wouldn't be better, should try to throwup, then sleep for half an hour (to rest your stomach) and then eat some real food.. and continue just to enjoy
    (I'm usually a support at 100 milers to friends - I was even Ivi's few times (when he did some preety nice race records), you should believe me. 😊😉)
