This worked exactly as you showed. It took a little longer for me, but I'm all updated. The only disappointment is that the maps version still doesn't have some new areas that were built in 2023 near me. I'll continue to look for an updated map version. Thanks!

Same here it wouldn’t down load after door open and start and a master rest. Nothing the Drive I plugged in wouldn’t do anything. Any help would be appreciated
@@jimosier7034 Not sure what the issue is Jim. I can throw out some guesses, but that's all they would be. Make sure that you don't have any other devices plugged in, that it's not a 2020 or newer vehicle. You could take a look at the files after they are downloaded from the Internet and compare them to mine to make sure they're installed. Other than that, I'm not sure Jim.
I tried to do it from a MacBook Pro computer!!!!🤦🏻♂️ 4 times, and left it in the truck running, almost 6 hrs in total of the different times I’ve tried. I finally got my hand on a PC!!! And am uploading everything they way you’ve explained it step by step!!! I have the Sync 3 2.0!!! My truck is a 2017 ford expedition limited, I even took it to ford dealership, they the Wi-Fi connection, still nothing!! So I hope this works!🙏🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼 I will comeback with an update if it works or not. Wish me luck!!
Thanks for the laymen's version. You covered some items not in the more techy vid I watched. Success on the first try. 2017 Transit Sync 3 w/NAV, 2.2 16280 to 3.4 23188, NAV 1.15 to 2.22. SanDisc Ultra 3.0. It took 2 hours to download to the thumbdrive, but only 26 minutes to update the van's Sync.

Did this yesterday. And my 2019 Premium GT ragtop needed the maps updated. Other new cars we have had gave 5 years of free map updates. Not Ford. They wanted $240 bucks. Hello Google and Android Auto. Free up to date maps with an even much better voice recognition system. Very dissapointed in Ford's greed pn this, but ended up with a better solution.

Wasn't really keen on spending $150 for a map update when there was one for FREE :) I did all the steps then my navigation decided it didn't want to work 😱 but I master reset it after the installation was done (like you said to reset the bugs) then it was algood. I've updated 2016 f150 sync 3 version 1 but after the update says software updates complete , i did the factory reset but its still showing the version i an on originally not seeing any changes. Any ideas?
Hello, I have a serious question. I want to update my 3.0.20204 version with F11 EU maps to the latest 3.4.xxxxx (although Ford announced officialy the 3.0.23219 version and probably F12 maps). However, CyanLabs in their site suggest the following about AUTOINSTALL METHOD: "You can't use this method to go from 1.x , 2.x or 3.0 to 3.4". For the REFORMAT METHOD they mention "Can be used to upgrade from 1.x, 2.x and 3.0 to 3.4". So, according to them, I should choose the REFORMAT method. But in your video, you have selected the autoinstall directly from 3.0 to 3.4. Will it work properly during installation? In your video, you are reading the reformat instructions although you had chosen autoinstall during the download. I've also noticed in Syn3 Updater, down left it has "automatically chosen" reformat mode. Thanks in advance. My car is a 2017 Ford Focus. The region is Europe.

Got a 17 plate focus here in UK brought car in 2020 with 3 months warranty still on car but sync 3 packed up so took back to ford they put new sync 3 into car so a bit worried about doing this update cos don't really know when it was manufactured is there a way on screen to check manufactured date for this one?

I don't know if you would have any issues. I would suggest going over to the website where the program can be retrieved and look over the community questions and answers. If you don't see anything, post your question and see if someone can respond.

I suspect that it's normal with the update Eric. Mine does the same thing. I just close the window and it doesn't appear again until the car is restarted. You can ask this question at the website for the program and see if there are any other comments about it. Have a great day!

You're saying rest but I assume you mean reset. If you have a issue after the update, then it's recommended to do a master reset. However, in my case, I didn't need to do this. If the update goes well, then I wouldn't worry about a reset.
HELP!! All worked as far as it went..When I put in on the last screen again as region, U.S, Canada Mexico, It said regions do not match. I looked at the top, and it was EU. I live in the US, why did it say EU? Can that be changed...I don't have EUon my Ford Fusion Energi. IOt says that if I continue, it may bugger the thing up HELP

Does this software upgrade allow for wireless android auto or is that hardware related? My 2018 platinum F150 is on sync 3.0 and I want to do this I actually have the latest cyanlabs 3.4 version with nav with voice on a USB I'm just worried about doing it

How do i know if I have navigation ? I have a 2017 F150. Its got SYNC 3 and the screen shows a 'MAPS' icon but when I press it it doesn't show navigation

Hi Troy and glad to hear that you found the video helpful! I don't drive the car that much as the car belongs to the wife. I asked her and she said that you cannot change the destination by using the touch screen while driving other than cancelling the route. But she said it should work with voice commands. I haven't confirmed this myself, but you could give that a try to see if it works.
If you go to timeline of 4:12 and look where I select region, you can see middle east. I would assume this would include the navigational maps for the middle east if the nav function is selected. You could also go to the website where the program is downloaded and ask your question there. Have a great day!
There were changes in the interface and things got moved around which improved the looks. The maps were improved which didn't show the vehicle off of a road on newer roads. Also, when touching the interface for different functions, it was quicker and didn't have any lag. Since, it's all free, I would say that it's worth the upgrade. Have a great day!

I downloaded and installed the version 3.4.22200 and Maps NA 1 21. Download took 90 minutes and install took 30 minutes. Install was easy. Is there a way to get the radio station logos for HD Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio? That's my only issue with the install.

I have a 2018 Ford F-150 this worked great!!!! Thank you so much. It did take about 11 mins just for it to recognize the usb . Then only 25 mins to finish the update and install. Thank YOU!!!
When Sirius has their free weekends my radio would not work correctly (2017 F150) slow to respond when I try to change things. I took it to the dealer for another thing and I still have my extended warranty. The radio is covered if it was broke but I was told it just needs and update $178. He told me I could do it myself......found this AND.... I have to admit....although it looked easy I was worried to try. BUT I did it as you said and couldn't be happier. I wish I took a picture of the old version. Question....can I give that flash drive to another friend with a ford?
Glad it worked for you! It's not the best policy to pass the flash drive to your friend. He could have a different build of the software that you. It's best to let him put in his current build and the software will download the needed files for his system.
Using this software am I able to add maps to my head unit? I had sync2.0 then purchase a sync 3.4 module to replace it. But now I am missing gpsmaps functionality even though I had it before.
Can't answer your question. However, the author of the software has a website in the description. There is a community there which have lots of questions. You may do a search to find your answer or post your question there and someone may help you.

I'm doing this on a 17 Raptor and right now it is at 2 hours and 12 minutes and still downloading it is making me scared to death that is something is wrong a green strip has not even started it still says please insert USB stick but it is cycling through the pictures

Hi Stuzman, I'm writing to you from Italy and I have to tell you that I haven't found a video in Italian as detailed and precise as yours. I have a Ford with SYNC 3.0 that has been giving me a "navigation error" for a few days. I thought that upgrading to 3.4 might solve the problem. What do you think ? I followed your procedure and I already downloaded 3.4 and maps but I'm afraid my APIM become a brick. Especially in the phase where you have to answer "No" or "YEs" if my APIM is from 2020 or newer. My car is from 2017 so if I'm not mistaken I should answer "NO". Thank you for your opinion. Have a nice day
Hi Marcello. I can understand your anxiety as I felt the same way. If you wish, you can visit their website and look at comments from other users of the program to see if there were any issues with them. I left a link in the description to the community if you wish to review that. For your case, you would say no since you don't have a 2020 or newer vehicle. As you know, mine was a 2016 Escape where I said no in the video. Keep in mind that since this a software update and anything could happen, I'm not responsible for any mishaps that may happen. You are not being clear. Not all APIM modules have navigation. Will this application program add navigation to APIM module?

My sync system ist rebooting,but the installation screen with the cars doesnt appear.

After the upgrade, when I start my vehicle, on the screen it says USB HUBS ARE NOT SUPPORTED. PLEASE REMOVE. I don't have any USB connected?

I would think that if you can't type in a destination for a search then you probably don't have navigation.

There were changes in the interface and things got moved around which improved the looks. The maps were improved which didn't show the vehicle off of a road on newer roads. Also, when touching the interface for different functions, it was quicker and didn't have any lag. Since, it's all free, I would say that it's worth the upgrade. Have a great day!

I'm not sure if it would help or not. Since Apple's CarPlay is integrated with Sync3, maybe it would. Not sure...
check your cord
Make sure you have an up too date hub/usb port. I had to buy one with USB 3? in order for CarPlay to work. Android Auto workd fine.

I downloaded and installed the version 3.4.22200 and Maps NA 1 21. Download took 90 minutes and install took 30 minutes. Install was easy. Is there a way to get the radio station logos for HD Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio? That's my only issue with the install.

I have a 2018 Ford F-150 this worked great!!!! Thank you so much. It did take about 11 mins just for it to recognize the usb . Then only 25 mins to finish the update and install. Thank YOU!!!

When Sirius has their free weekends my radio would not work correctly (2017 F150) slow to respond when I try to change things. I took it to the dealer for another thing and I still have my extended warranty. The radio is covered if it was broke but I was told it just needs and update $178. He told me I could do it myself......found this AND....
I have to admit....although it looked easy I was worried to try. BUT I did it as you said and couldn't be happier. I wish I took a picture of the old version. Question....can I give that flash drive to another friend with a ford?
Glad it worked for you! It's not the best policy to pass the flash drive to your friend. He could have a different build of the software that you. It's best to let him put in his current build and the software will download the needed files for his system.
Using this software am I able to add maps to my head unit? I had sync2.0 then purchase a sync 3.4 module to replace it. But now I am missing gpsmaps functionality even though I had it before.
Can't answer your question. However, the author of the software has a website in the description. There is a community there which have lots of questions. You may do a search to find your answer or post your question there and someone may help you.

If you select no for navigation, the program shouldn't install that feature on your car if it doesn't have it.

I just did it in my 2017 Ford Kuga (in US it’s called Escape but in Europe we call it Kuga, basically the same car but with a different name) and it works absolutely perfect, thank you very much for such a good tutorial. 🤗

I'm doing this on a 17 Raptor and right now it is at 2 hours and 12 minutes and still downloading it is making me scared to death that is something is wrong a green strip has not even started it still says please insert USB stick but it is cycling through the pictures

Hi Stuzman, I'm writing to you from Italy and I have to tell you that I haven't found a video in Italian as detailed and precise as yours. I have a Ford with SYNC 3.0 that has been giving me a "navigation error" for a few days. I thought that upgrading to 3.4 might solve the problem. What do you think ? I followed your procedure and I already downloaded 3.4 and maps but I'm afraid my APIM become a brick. Especially in the phase where you have to answer "No" or "YEs" if my APIM is from 2020 or newer. My car is from 2017 so if I'm not mistaken I should answer "NO". Thank you for your opinion. Have a nice day
Hi Marcello. I can understand your anxiety as I felt the same way. If you wish, you can visit their website and look at comments from other users of the program to see if there were any issues with them. I left a link in the description to the community if you wish to review that. For your case, you would say no since you don't have a 2020 or newer vehicle. As you know, mine was a 2016 Escape where I said no in the video. Keep in mind that since this a software update and anything could happen, I'm not responsible for any mishaps that may happen. Hi Marcy, it may be because of your computer being an Apple device. I believe the program is designed for Windows. You could also check on their website and post your question on their forum to see if anyone else ran into this issue. Have a great day!
