A video that will amaze you. The various Spices in the Spice Garden will surely let u in awe. Mr. Butterfly will make you shocked . His performance by Jambo Bwani will make it difficult for you to forget about him. One of the highlights of this Spice Farm was watching the young Zanzibari "Mr Butterfly" shin up the tallest palm tree to pick a fresh coconut for us! Ali Baba was our excellent guide.
In Zanzibar there are many authentic spice farms of where they grow traditionnally a vast range of spices and tropical plants following organic farming principles. They organize spice tours with enthusiastic guide. We discovered the secrets of cinnamon, lemongrass, cloves and many other tasteful spices in thier exotic garden. Zanzibar Spice Garden is a really great place to visit. You will enjoy in the spice farm, where you can see so many variety spices and how they grow.
Learned a lot from the guide and his assistant. Seeing the spices used in your kitchen at home growing in the wild was fascinating. Our guide was knowledgeable and his assistant agile! Shimmying up a coconut palm to fetch coconuts for us to sample and weaving headbands, ties and tree frogs from palm fronds was amazing. Our tour ended with a tasting session of fresh exotic fruit which was delicious. No real pressure to buy packs of spices to bring home. Just a lovely experience wandering through the plantation sampling, smelling and touching the real thing.
