Hi John, love the video but when my code was required I phoned my Jaguar dealer, gave him my reg no and 5 mins later he gave me the code. Easy, free and no need to take down the dash. All the best. Bill.
Hi John, as always a great step by step "how to", to recover a lost radio code. A thought if you don't want to take the console apart and or if you've disconnected your battery and don't have a radio code: 1. There is a procedure to eliminate the need for a radio code permanently. Can't remember it exactly but broadly it's a matter of pressing three buttons on the front of the radio with your left hand whilst turning the ignition on & off with your right hand. After this you will never need your radio code again.
@@ToTheGarage I'm pretty sure that I came across this 'secret' on the www.jaguarforum.com/forum.php. and I think it was in the S-type section. They have the same radio/cd setup.
Just followed your instruction John and it went really well, so thanks so so much - next job removing the back bumper to fix the parking sensors if you have a video on that or know one that would be more than helpful. keep up the great work cheers Ray
Hi John! I’ll be following this procedure in my XK8 after disconnecting the battery, no radio and no satnav at the moment! Thanks for another superbly helpful video! Cheers, Mark
@@ToTheGarage it was the headlining replacement, didn’t want a shock off any vanity mirror or courtesy light connections when I was removing the trim 👍
If you don't have the radio code you can bypass by simultaneously pressing ">>" "PTY" and "A.MEM" on the radio head unit. Only takes 2 or 3 seconds and the radio should come on. No need to bother taking anything apart and o need to pay out any money.
Hi Andrew. Not sure on this one. It seems to work on some but not all examples. I think that the radios coding can be disabled for some territories when new and then this works after battery disconnection. I also think (but I am not sure!) that if you do this to a radio that is working, you can turn off the need for a code when the battery is next disconnected and thereafter ">>" "PTY" and "A.MEM" will work in its place. This may be why it appears to work on some examples of exactly the same head unit and not others. Doesnt work on either of my jags Really interesting though. Thanks😁👍
Useful video and a very helpful tip on recovering the radio and navigation etc. Unit came back to life immediately using Andrew’s tip on Jaguar X350 2006 year. Just as well as centre console in my Sovereign has different fixings in rear and could not find fixings. Thank you both.

No Im afraid that would make them a bit easy to steal with the visible VIN on the windscreen
