I bought this pedal. The limitation of only being able to blend 50/50 dry and wet is a dealbreaker for me. I feel like if you're interested in "shoegaze in a box" this pedal does 1 or two things kind of alright (but not great!) ... Isn't the point to reach for extremes in sonic experimentation, not to press a button and sound like slowdive? Maybe it'll grow on me but so far I find the character of this pedal to be too polite and geared towards chimey post rock.. which is a music style that, personally, I despise and have no use for...
If you already have a delay pedal, I recommend the Catalinbread. It has much more clarity to my ear. I can hear the notes being strummed, plus the separate reverb effects (chorus, tremolo and shimmer) all distinctly. Pair that with a nice delay pedal and you’ve got a gorgeous sound. The Keeley pedals (Realizer, Parallax, Loomer) sound a little muddier in Soft Focus mode, sort of like the ocean or tv static. These things are always dependent on your setup, though. I’m running my signal through a preamp, a compressor, then an amp emulator. I’m sure with a different signal path and a real amp the whole thing would sound different. One other consideration: the Catalinbread is only a Soft Focus reverb, while the Keeley pedals offer two additional reverb modes.
@@gigaha very well explained, I’m new to the reverb world and since I got a Keeley Halo would be redundant another delay but it seems both Parallax and Soft focus got their own character, I appreciate it your input
I was really disappointed by this pedal. I plugged it in and it only goes up to 50% wet?? Its trash, dude. You can barely hear the reverse. Keeley hamstrung this pedal so it didnt kill Loomer/Realizer sales
My memory toy delay pedal modulates like this pedal! ^___^ I flip the modulator switch and increase the blend and its fat like this. I have it along with my POG octave pedal
Hey Nick, the reverse reverb on the Parallax is more a reversed delay - as Keeley describe it. I personally don't think it's the sound that we love from MBV recodings. I still like the Polara, RV7 or DigiVerb by Digitech or the Alesis GuitarFX reverse reverb most.
I brought my a month ago now, it's definitely worth buying if you haven't got the realizer or the canvans and you want to pare it with a distortion pedal like a DS-1 or big muff ram's head.
@@thebrokenorder For me it takes the fun out of the pedal, it makes it much less versatile. I had a test one and returned it. A pity because I liked it a lot together with the delay… In exchange I got a Walrus Melee, I love it, and it makes a good team with the Fairfield Meet Maude. Delay very similar to the Parallax delay part.
I wish yesterday. I still habe all the parts right in front of me and started to work in a guitar workshop to learn how to put it together myself, without f**kn it up. I begin to make a wooden body shape in March. My guitar builder buddy can't help me earlier. But then the fun begins.
Some people argue you shouldn't eat the dessert before the actual meal. And they do it anyways. For me putting a reverb into fuzz is what I like. I'm pretty much aware that many people couldn't understand. But that's what's happening on this channel.
Happy new year, glad to see you again!!
Hey Daniel, I'm so happy too. Another video follows next week.
bro that intro transition into the channel theme was so good lmao
Whats the frequency, Kenneth?
REM asked me the same thing. And I sayed: 432hz. Sometimes 608hz ..depends on how much I care.
Wow kenneth is back
Yay! Here to stay. I sat my ass off to make music and videos for you guys.
Nice Video, wusste nicht das man aus einem Pedal so viele unterschiedliche Sounds bekommt.

Did you put your drive before or after the parallax?
Hey Ethan, I put the drive before the Parallax.
👍🏿🤘
🙏🤘
This or Catalindbread Soft focus?

@@heyheymymind1939 - you’re welcome! I bet a Halo into the Soft Focus would sound incredible.
I have both of them now and they are both great is there own unique way.

Gaze tech legendary status. Already bought this.

Nice demo! Sounds cool!

I don't think I'm gonna be able to avoid buying this pedal. Also, been playing my digitech hot rod lately, truly underrated.
Excellent, thank you!
AAAAAND that's the reason why im subscribed !
AAAAAND that's the reason why I'm so happy ! :)
Superb test run
Sounds really nice. My kind of thing for sure.
Where you not too keen on the reverse reverb setting? You didn't seem very impressed

how does it handle overdrive?
Pretty well
@@gazeunderthesunmusic alright cool, I ordered one in the mail and i was worried about that, thanks
No problem, just remember the pedal goes up to 50% wet/dry, I don't think it matters if you're using other reverb or delay FX
great now i fell in love with another pedal lol
can you recreate the sound from To Here Knows When by MBV
It's a great song with a very nice crafted guitar sound. I think I can try and include it in one of my upcoming videos.
awesome job!!!
Great to see you posting videos again Kenneth! Hope life is treating you well.
There's knobs to turn! oh my.
So many. Its like being a spider mutant - looking in the mirror.
welcome back!
💜
For $219? Thats a good deal.
Hello,
It's not a full wet reverb?? And the Loomer and the Realizer have it?
Love your channel!
I am also confused. Will 100% wet scare off players who don't want to get "too weird"?

but what is this tuning ???
so shoegazzzzzze
I think it was DADGAD.
When do we get a demo on your newly extra modded guitar? The pedal is cool as well.

FYI fuzz doesn't go so well with reverb and delay, so you shouldn't be demo-ing this pedal with it. Save stuff like that for the end.
