This specific tune is exclusive to Kathmandu and is typically played during the procession of the Pulun Kisi aka Airawat (an elephant of Lord Indra), as it moves through various Newar-occupied towns in Kathmandu during the Yenya (Indra Jatra) festival. This festival is one of the most renowned and extended celebrations in the region.
