Informative video, thank you! I'm trying to decide between this trunk or the Baseline extra large suitcase. What are your thoughts for a 2-3 month overseas trip (one person)?
Hello and thanks for watching and commenting. According to the company website, their are significant differences between the capacity of both. Trunk 5778-6714. Baseline 8613-10208. So, the baseline is definitely larger whether you expand it or not. If size is the primary consideration, I’d go with the baseline. However, you definitely want to check with the airlines you’ll be flying. I like to stay within the size and weight for checked baggage. Every airline has their own specific specs. Because of the baseline’s larger capacity, if it’s filled to the brim, it will normally weigh more. Hope this helps and thanks again for watching.
Hi, In my opinion a soft sided case doesn’t add much in terms of protecting content other than providing a nylon cover over a frame. Even a hard shelled case won't hold up well with fragile content. You never know what’s going on with your luggage when it leaves your sight. I’d recommend padding the items extremely well and you should be fine. Thanks for commenting and definitely consider subscribing if you haven’t already.
It’s the baseline large expandable trunk spinner. It doesn’t appear to be listed on Briggs & Riley’s website anymore. For one reason or another, they seem to regularly change their product line. Although, I was looking for an extra large suitcase when I bought this one, they discontinued the extra large model I was considering. There isn’t a huge space difference between an expandable large suitcase and a trunk. Thanks for commenting and definitely consider subscribing.
Thanks for viewing and the comment. You’re right, not cheap, but cheaper than Tumi and a better warranty. Checking a bag is always a question mark. I always wonder whether I‘ll see the bag again and if I do, what will it look like. Because of the warranty, I’ve removed the stress surrounding - what will it look like. I also like the size, it’s trunk shaped, but soft sided, and once you get a handle on how the expansion works, it becomes a keeper. Thanks again for the support.
Hi, Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry for the delayed reply. It actually expands 2.5 inches, which is pretty incredible. This is the Large Baseline Trunk Spinner which I assume was discontinued because it’s not available on the Briggs & Riley website. I’d suggest giving them a call. They have US based customer service which was helpful when I was looking for a bag. If you’re not in a rush I’d wait for a sale. If you haven’t already, please consider subscribing. Thanks again for watching and have a great day.

Could this soft side luggage protect fragile items inside?

What model is the bag? Having a hard time figuring out which it is.
