Ive taken my 2023 model on 200 miles trips with the mid sized ktm windshield and the problem isnt wind it the seat confort. Its awful when you get into hour 2.
Hey, what is your opinion on this vs 890 or the new 990? I used to have a 22 SDR EVO when i got in an accident and totaled it. I was fully reimbursed and got a 23 z h2 instead. Looking to get a duke again.
Looks like a great ride, built in China by CFMOTO... I have the CFMOTO Ibex800t/800MT with the same engine and frame... loving it a lot... great bikes... :)
@@timessix8434no but regardless it doesn’t matter. They still use the same testing and quality control they use in Austria. It’s simply for cheaper labor thus resulting in a less expensive motorcycle.
Looking forward to your Hornet review and comparison comments. You didn't mention details on costs, ie, the quickshifter? It's not standard but I don't find any info on how much it costs, KTM has a "Tech Package" that includes the quick shifter but they don't tell you how much the Tech package costs? Or can you get the quickshifter without having to buy any "package"? I've been pining away for an MT09 but 3 years later, they are still very difficult to come by and now their prices are getting steep after you add in the surcharges and sales tax. Here in the States you are looking at almost $12K USD out the door for a standard model. The SP version is getting close to $14K now. Back in 2021, you could get a std model for a little over ten grand out the door, if you could find one. Glad to see KTM bring back their 790 and now Honda with a fast 750 twin engined naked all in the $7K price range, tho nothing yet for us here in the States for the new Hornet. KTM is $9,199 + $655 freight charge. a bit high shipping charges but Yamaha has extra charges of $925! that still brings the 790 up to $10,700 with sales tax. I hope the Hornet comes in below $8K. In europe it's like $7100 Euros? Anything in the low/mid $7k range and sorry 790, I can get in the Hornet for under $9K
@@gmmotomedia I just read an article today that said the new Hornet will sell for $7999 usd. Probably not include shipping and any other surcharges tho. But list price to list price would undercut the 790 by $1200! Is that similar to Europe pricing?
I'm on the fence....I have a 690 Duke and I love it! But 790 being a twin...would it be worth trading? Or is the Honda or Suzuki better? I'll just have to try! Thanks!
wll i was gonna buy a hornet but wanted a white on which was not available until after the summer so ended up with a two year old KTM 790 Duke and it is a blast to ride. Not sure what the differences are between mine and the 2023 model though ?
It's a completely different bike now, everything has changed: parts, suspension and engine performance to keep it in line with the new competition. The Honda Hornet and Suzuki GSX-8S are two bikes that come to mind. I think KTM's got a real chance here to come out on top. I'll update the review once I test ride them all 👍
@@gmmotomedia hm not totally convinced there are big differences besides two things euro gets it at 95hp and the rest of the wordl 105hp. Mine is allready at 105hp ;-) Now electronically you will actually have to pay for the options in the 2023 model software wise as with the earlier model everything was unlocked as standard. Now i can see them doing this price wise and so keep base price lower and make more money on selling options but still...
@@gmmotomedia Some tough competition, that new Hornet looks to be a pretty sweet setup and of course it's a Honda. KTM definitely wins in looks though in my book.
That's a good question, I think overall the Duke is better value for money right now, but the Tuono definitely beats it in looks. I'll have to test one out :)
@@gmmotomedia Not planning it on how it looks. It looks exactly like my wife's Duke 125. The new Hornet is better looking and has better specs. Not that I plan to ride that either. I am happy with my current bikes, but that doesn't stop me to comment on other bikes. Especially when I am unimpressed 🤭

How does the riding position compare to the 390? That's what I have. How does it compare? Thinking about upgrading

The 890 is still a very powerful bike. The only problem would be depreciation over the long term as it's the previous gen middle duke 👍

in turkey the Duke 890 R 21.049 $ and hornet is about to 17.000$ dollars. so if you can find these bikes 12-14K. just buy it. don't search too much.
@@YusufErsoy Yeah, I did that with the MT09 and never did get one. Ride safe!!
Great Video!
How do you compare de power delivery with the mt-09?
(since they are are the same price point, at least here in Portugal)
I rather prefer the power delivery of the MT-09 especially in the newer gen. Also the triple engine is very exciting to ride 👍

What about mt-09…in USA similar price?
Really? That's a no brainer then!
Good old 790 powertrain. Where's the husqvarna 801 vitpilen?😡
spy shots have been leaked testing it
It's on its way, saw leaked spy photos of it recently search for it

6 foot (183cm) 👍

@@gmmotomedia No! It doesn't beats the KTM in looks my friend. Tuono looks like a supersport bike! KTM is pure naked. Cmon

7,999.00 GBP

I love kTm😁
KTM 790 is good selling in china, Around 12800 USD. The price is more competitive than KTM 890 duke.
Very interesting thanks for sharing 👍
The 890 duke is a superior bike

get 890 r for few more dollars.....
