I'm a little upset at myself for throwing in the last game. It should have been a win... I guess it still proves the point I'm trying to make that is you should focus on your own plays and improvements instead of your teammates. I lost that last game because of my mistake and can only blame myself for it. Enchantresses definitely have more agency in game than some people may think. I had these games before the season 12 change so it will have old items, etc but pretty much everything I talk about should be relevant and important. I did mostly want to play in ranks below silver but the fresh League Partnership Progam (LPP) accounts are manually adjusted to have higher ranks/mmr for streamers so it looks like these games are around gold and platinum. My chat thinks I'm put in 'smurf' queues because of the insanely long queue times I had but I'm not really too sure. Despite the ranks not being what I wanted I hope you find something useful out of this placement journey video.
Making mistakes even in lower ranks is normal and shows that no matter how good someone is there’s always something new to learn. Hopefully this experience can not only teach others about their own mistakes, but help you to grow as a player and mitigate your own! ❤️
I still feel like this is indicative of how hard it is to carry as an enchantress. Not to say you can't climb as an enchantress (because climbing is just about being consisntently better than your counterpart), but I don't think it's the most efficient climb, especially in low elo. A GM player playing her two signature champs and barely going positive on her placements seems pretty indicative of how hard it is. I think a GM jungler or mid laner smurf would be expected to go like 9-1 on placements.
i see both sides. On one hand, enchanters can carry and help their team get fed. On the other hand, enchanters scale and excel by buffing their team. If their team cant carry or do good, enchanters lose value.
@moonstaff1234 I do agree with what you say but I would like to add some caveats. I would probably play Zyra or Lux support if I wanted to carry low ranks but that's just because I can pilot those champions efficiently, so I see how the same could be applied to like a GM jungler or mid player. You have to take into consideration the individual player skill as well. Could a genuine silver player do more work on a Zyra, who can kill but also be killed easily, or on a Soraka, who is perhaps more reliant on her team but more forgiving when making mistakes? For the placements in this video, because I was on a LPP account which had the MMR boosted a little to gold/plat I think it's a little different to completely fresh accounts where they may have easier games. I also was talking a lot and it's harder for me to concentrate on the game + I was forcing Soraka and Janna even though some matchups I would have just chosen a different enchantress that was better suited for the game.
If Lumi plays an enchantress suited to the matchup, she can carry it more w/ good placement record. But because she only chose Soraka/Janna, then it will be a bit hard yet it was a close fight, so that placement record results to it. If you judge on her signature picks only, then that's not correct. Because signature picks will always have natural counters despite you're skilled in piloting them, which supports the above.
Your videos are a breath of fresh air since I love watching support videos but there’s never enough out there since they aren’t as “flashy” as the mid laners or adcs. Keep up the great work!! 👍🏾
You asked for the difference between actual orianna support and Taric support and the difference is one has an ult that gets value and spam-able the other one is one that you will only use like 7 times in a game and only 2 of those times does the ult get value
Honestly you played really well on your last game Lumi! Some mistakes were made but from mistakes we learn and get better :) (also, we can't win every game, right?)
You're in plat MMR try an account that's never played ranked and climb that. You'll get bronze people at best, and that's when you'll really get a challenge trying to climb.
