Randy bro, the LAST thing you have to do is explain your personal life choices to us. I can tell you’re a worrier and an over thinker, but seriously. The last thing you have to do is explain your own personal business with your child and ex etc, to your UA-cam audience. It is none of our business whatsoever. I wanted to put that in words in the most straight forward way possible ❤

This is a Randy fan here, pre vlogs... And he started these vlogs as a way to vent and stop overthinking, cause separations can be very tough to all the parties involved.
All we're here to do is listen and assure him its gonna be fine and he's gonna work through it...
So they're upclose and personal vlogs.
If you're new, I hope that explains it💯

Fuck all the shitty people trying to be accusatory. My parents separated when I was 7. I saw my dad once a year to go on holiday (he and my mum still owned a timeshare). The fact that you go back most weekends is massive! Harper will remember the love you showed her, not that you lived elsewhere.
The time you spend together is the most important thing, that's what she'll appreciate the most ❤️

@sleuwe3878 I'm sorry that someone hurt you in the past.
As someone who saw her dad once a year at best (he lived about an hour away), the fact that Randy is travelling 6 hours each weekend to see his daughter is a big deal.
If you aren't able to show any empathy for the situation, firstly, don't watch. Secondly, maybe speak to your GP about some extra mental health support.
Most people only see their kids evenings and weekends - unless they're millionaires. School/preschool is a thing too.
Basically, just try to be kind please - there's no need to shut someone down for trying their best for their child.

    • @sleuwe3878
      @sleuwe3878 7 місяців тому +1

@@Ferdstrosity He literally chose to move that far away leaving his wife all alone to care for the child. Just because you had a deadbeat dad and you probably don‘t know what an active and involved dad looks like. It doesn‘t make this kind of behaviour applaudable. It‘s not even the bare minimum. Just giving money to the mother of your child and seeing the kid once every two weeks doesn‘t make you an okay dad. To me it‘s normal having both parents equally involved. Maybe you should get some help but thank you for your genuine concern lol

Randy my parents separated when I was a bit older than harper, like 7, and the things you remember are when you are dropped off at your dads or mums, not when you’re not there. I know it’s very tough to miss out on things, but time spent with your kid every weekend or whatever it may be won’t go unmissed and Harper will thank you for it when she is much older. Granted my parents separated and didn’t live too far from each other so it was typically every weekend or every other week as a full week, which I’m sure harper could do when she is older. What I’m trying to say is, she will remember your visits and she will remember her time spent with mum separately and that is okay, all you can do is keep visiting as you are and once she is past the stroppy teen phase (scary I know) she will be much grateful for it. I know I am for my dad and him making an effort for me.

Hi Randy. I am a 17 year old kid now and I feel blessed that my parents are happily married. However, my love for them is not a factor of their love for each other. I love them because they are doing their best to create a happy life for our family. They inspire me because they are independent, hard working and loving. I could not imagine anything worse than my parents being unfulfilled and unhappy as it would wear of on me. If Harper is anything like me, she would have the utmost respect for your new found focus on self improvement. I believe that by being the best version of yourself, Harper will feel inspired and you will have a happy and healthy relationship.

Well done! Your daughter will be very proud and will appreciate the foundation you have built for her. While on this journey you will find the right balance between not having full custody but your daughter never feeling like your not there! Keep up the good work when i went through a similar situation I wish I handled it like you instead of feeling sorry for myself and in one sense giving up you which if i had stayed on the same path would have not been earned the respect of my child. It's just people not understanding or not accepting. Some people can make things work and some can't. Everyone is different. I feel its better for you to be happy with yourself and what you're doing. If you have a soul-sucking job that drags you into depression, that wouldn't be good for you or your daughter. Many people are stuck in that situation and don't know how to change it, this might even cause them bail on their family altogether to 'start a new life', but you have the opportunity and ability to do what you love and still balance things in your life. As long as you're happy and it's not a detriment to Harper then its gravy. Honestly, there is no 'perfect' way to do things. Maybe there are some better ways than others, but everything will have its downsides. I can only recommend not missing certain milestones later on like the first day of school, parent/teacher days, etc. Some things like first words, first steps, etc you might miss even if you were at home with them or working a regular job, but those other ones can be scheduled around. The benefit to your work is flexibility. Don't be a work-a-holic parent during those important times - assuming it matters to Harper. I never cared about those things personally if my parents came then cool, if not then no sweat. Thankfully technology makes long-distance communication easier. Between voice/video, chat, VR Now??, gaming industry, schools using online assignments, etc. Its easier now to do remote-parenting lol Except for VR, all these things were possible even in the late 2000s, just that people didn't lean into the possibilities for parenting. It's not traditional, but the world changes and different lifestyles crop up as a result. Its whatever works for the family. Just rambling now, anyways, you do you and handle things how you think is best. Its your life, your child and your opportunity to try what others won't. Whether or not this works is between you and Harper. That is the key. Others can go frick themselves.

My parents are divorced, my mom didn’t like the little town we lived in and she moved back to the city, she never made any effort to connect or see us. They don’t get that you driving 3 hours to see her proves that you love her and you moving to London proves you love yourself, both can exist dw about them Randy, I hope are positive comments can outweigh the negative ones, you’re doing great man

No need to sell your soul to provide for your daughter Randy. You’re no good to her as a father if you’re miserable and exhausted. You’re doing your best brother, keep grinding.

Of course there are Americans. I'm an American. I'm from Michigan and I send my love every vlog. Hope you get to come back to America soon and enjoy what my country has to offer. I pretty much only watch UK UA-camrs as I think you guys are more genuine and don't play it up for the camera like American UA-camrs do. UK for the win
