- Welcome Traveler Family to our Second cruise on Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas. This is our third cruise in the past four months. Our first cruise ever was on the Disney Dream and we had a verandah room. Our second cruise was aboard the Independence of the Seas and we chose a room with an Oceanview (Large Porthole). This time we decided to see if we could cruise in an inside room as the rates were almost too good to pass up! We also learned a few more tips and tricks that we wanted to share.

FYI. I regularly book the inside cabin or ocean view. I always have room attendant separate the beds leaving a much larger walkway between the beds. In the ocean view, this also allows you to walk right up to the window to see out. I like the idea of putting the little table in the closet leaving even more floor space. Good video.
After trying the ocean views and indoor cabin we would not hesitate to try them again. Thanks for the tip on the ocean view room and splitting the bed and moving the table. Thanks for traveling along with us and hope your having a fantastic week

Great video. Learned a few new tricks. One idea: I read somewhere that you can have the beds separated and put the tables in the middle to make a walkway.

I enjoy the classic look of DCL.
Sorry, that food and entertainment did not look good.
I think you should try a Holland America or Princess cruise.
We loved our Holland America cruise to Alaska …classic ship, great service and food. I also enjoyed the music venues.
That inside cabin was too crowded…I’ve done an inside DCL cabin and it was nice.
Definitely will try those two cruise line in the future. I will have to say that is the one thing lacking on Royal was there food. Live Disney cruise line but just doesn’t have the nightlife vibe Royal does. Have heard from many that Princess has some of the best food on the ocean. Thank you so much for traveling along with us

It’s was so nice being able to take mom. She loved getting her coffee every morning at the coffee shop.
What fantastic tips in this first installment! So good to know about dining and show times. I’m glad you didn’t have motion sickness with that inside cabin. Did you take any preventative meds or were you fine without any? Motion sickness is my biggest worry about a cruise. Otherwise, sign me up now!😂
Laurie Michelle did fantastic. I felt a little in the beginning but it went away quickly. We didn’t have any medicine but I know that can provide some in the medical office. Worst part about inside was we could have slept for days. We need to plan one for next year..
Not that much of a difference in cost btwn inside cabin and room above the water. Great tip on order of itinerary never considered that!
Dianne ya it wasn’t much but we had to try the inside and are so glade we did. Ya itinerary definitely makes a difference for us know. We have a 5 night booked then hopefully a 7 night next year.
