When I was 9 or 10, we would take a bus to visit my naani’s house. You know those rickety buses with a really loud speaker. Anyway, the journey would last 7 hours. One time the driver played this song & my dad heard me try to sing along. He went to the driver & asked him to repeat which he did. Those moments, people & emotions were different. UA-cam is the closest a time machine we have got. It was back in 96-97.

Not many people know that originally Rajesh Khanna was to star in this movie..... When he listened this song he loved it so much to the extent that he requested the director to picturise this song on himself instead.... But the script n story demanded it to be picturised on young face (as u can guess the person singing loves the young lady) ... So director refused thereby giving rise to a deadlock between the both....n technically because of this MASTERPIECE, main lead Rajesh Khanna eventually got replaced... By Jitendra off course.... Ladies n Gentlemen.... That's Kishore Kumar for u.......
