This is the best tutorial ive seen that helps with not only playing in all 12 keys but learning your main progression and correlating them with the number system and simply memorizing the chord structure by number

Wow. I used this same progression to learn all keys way back in 2013. Didn't know it was this powerful. You are basically learning major and minor triads and basically getting yourself equipped for all chords changes that are likely to pop up in songs

Cool lesson. Really nice sounds. My personal preference is to ascend by 4ths. Also by whole tones, 'cause that's the most common modulation in popular music. Also, if you're new to 12 key work, I'd suggest starting with a much simpler chart - like, say 2-5-1, and working your way up to something as complex as this. Start by writing out the chart in (key independent) numbers. And get used to associating a number with a scale note for whatever scale you're currently in.

  • @arthurleather783

This exercise can be beginner rated, only to the point that you use shapes, particularly in the right hand. Other than that, there is a lot to unpack here... which could easily take 2 or 3 years of learning. I know musicians that have little musical theory knowledge, but can play like nobody's business; and that has to do a lot with shapes, rhythm and
    a good musical ear.
If you are a beginner, lacking a good grip on theory and you want to master this, the main thing to do here, 'is to keep the same fingerings', throughout this exercise; especially in the right hand. You could use 1 3 5 fingering, the thumb being 1, middle finger being 3, and pinky being 5, or like I use, fingers 1 2 4, in order to leave the pinky free to play other notes later on. After you master a scale or all 12 scales, then try different fingerings for certain chords in the right hand, and see how that goes.
If I was a beginner, I would start with my favorite scale keys, like the key of C, then move on to the key of E, until I can do at least 4 or 5 favorites. Then move on to the chromatic approach, which maybe scales you don't ever use, but it's differently cool.
Also, practice the left hand bass part, until you can do it with your eyes closed, then tackle the right hand triads, keeping the fingering consistent throughout the exercise.
Go slow, doing little chunks at a time!!! Also, you do have to know a little bit about major scales and their triads, respectively, which you could look those up as you work
from one scale to the next, which would be a great introduction to musical theory. Another good thing to remember is, what a great harmonica player told many moons ago: "learn where all the notes are before doing all that fancy stuff"; like articulation, dynamics, effects, etc... It's a game changer!!!
With a bit of patience and practice, you could impress anybody, including students of music. Great job on this video and... One of my favorites!!!
