Very impressive. Thank you for wasting all that good snow on holding up your hand to get the great pictures. I wish I had just one opportunity to ride that, and if I did, I probably wouldn't want to have a hand bound to a pole. That said, it's very good riding and very impressive anti shake technology.
@NJditt i ride with an ice axe when there is the possible need for a self-arrest in various terrain. Some of these chutes have large (deadly) cliffs below, thus i need to have the option of stopping my self in the event of a sluff, slide or tumble. An Iceaxe/whippet is standard protocol for ski/boarding mountaineering. It's nice for sketchy traverses and approaches as well.
Hey! I am your friend Allan F.'s (dont wanna advertise his full name) nephew! That is amazing! He has told me all about Telluride, but never seen it like that!!!!!! Good shit! Keep posting vids I am subscribed!
@NothinButPow most of the shots are with a pole that is about 3.5 feet long (3 sections of a leki ski pole) ...there are a couple shots about 30 sec in that are only 2 feet or soo (2 sections) due to the tightness of the chute. I really like using a probe pole with a gopro camera adapter...it allows me to adjust and collapse the pole quickly. I put it away and bust it out many times throughout a day a of riding and am already using the pole in the backcountry while snowshoeing..hope it helps
@GoProCamera thanx a lot for the recognition...i really enjoyed messin around with different angles of capturing unreal experiences. I have TONS of great raw footage from this winter and will have many more vids to come. Can't wait to use it in Costa Rica next week and paragliding this summer. Next winter i would luv to capture it all in 3D...if my ski bum budget can swing it....peace;)
@igikpakmax the camera is a gopro hd hero that doesn't have any image stablization...takes a little practice to keep still and smooth powder helps with that
@340PD no trick...any motion is seen primarily in the background. If the snow is choppy it shows in the footage. A pole, GoPro and piles of pow is all u need....a steady hand helps;)
@KinematicsFX sorry for the delay. I've been doing a lot of fine tuning and tweaking to make it ready for it's official "World Premiere" at the Free bear creek..again gathering at telluride's Sheridan Opera House this thurs. I will have it up on you tube tonight or tomorrow and will put it up on vimeo in HD after the showing on thurs. Each video seems to take me exponentially longer to edit..and i had a lot of great footage to skim through for this one. thanx for showing interest.
I purtchased a gopro and did some filming at Mammoth but when I tried to upload to youtube it failed to convert the video. Any tips on uploading would be greatly apreciated, also , what program did you use to edit ? BTW, your clips have been very inspiring to me but so far my gopro experience has been a big pain in the balls...
@blowe1225 The pole is a ten year old leki super extreme probe pole that has a tripod mount...paired with a GoPro tripod mount. I use only two sections of the pole...3 feet or soo
@alexcroox I kept the highest setting that it would allow me to transfer from imovie to youtube...new to this...let me know if u have any suggestions to get higher quality. i am starting to put together a video of this entire season and will see if i missed something along the way. the original is MUCH nicer....i am blown away with what this lil camera is capable of;)
@Fastcheetah9 motion is seen in the background...it helps to have soft snow and a steady hand. new video of the entire season will be online within the week.
@skategangster i did the editing on imovie and it was pretty easy when i uploaded it to youtube...it did convert the video quality quite a bit...hope u get it figured out and sorry i don't have many computer skills..
Holy guacamole that's great! The GoPro on the pole in one hand and the ice axe in the other is indeed supremely bad ass! Awesome!!!
Some really great footage here. Lived in CO for a decade and never made it to Telluride. Thanks for the visit.
Normally I don't like snow sport videos. This is an exception. Great photography and style.
Your dynamic riding is off the hook! Great videos.
Phanphreakingtastic!! Excellent p.o.v. for peeps who would never get to see anything like that. Cheerz!!

Nice work. There were a couple of great moments. My fav. 2:45-2:55.
love the video, and the first transition is great.
@MrEddyGear thanx for that positive vibrations;) I think the one in question is Silver Chute into Alta...great chute, but puckering approach

Really good camera angle! The ice axe in the other hand is good. Way to go! Does the camera have a image stabilizer?
AHHHH great song choice!
Love it Dude!
@hindelicous Thanks for response and good luck with this season of snowboarding. :D
i like the first transition. it looks like you changed your jacket
Sick dude!

so sick, To Hell You Ride is my favorite place to ski. Amazing video bro!
@HOMExSKILLET it's an old leki probe pole with the GO Pro tripod mount...works great with using only 2 of the 3 sections
Hey, great camera angle! How long is your gopro pole mount and what is it that you are using, if you dont mind me asking?
Sick vid sick song!

Who is the music? Diggin' the tunes, would like to get the track? Thanks
Any chance of an HD upload? Considering it's a GoPro and all :)
Curious... is one of those chutes Heavenly 11's?
Why do you have that iceaxe? Where you near an edge or something?
Great!
@hindelicous where's that video? :)
like a boss
maybe its just me i much prefer the pov or helmet mounted shot
How do people who use these pole cams keep the pole so still?????? It's as if the pole is mounted to something on the other end.
@jaytierney1 nope..wish I got one in this year...waiting for it to be perfect before that one and grand daddy.
name is song?
song sauce ? thx
Oops...just found the track...der!
