Honestly, I remember it being far worse on the original controls because of how much harder it was to react to things. But, when that isn't an issue, the Drone Guns in the first area become the biggest issue. They are almost always going to shave half your health off unless you play as cautious as possible.
@@FARTGBLthe key is to not blow the 2 servers next to boris as that opens the glass and they will come from there and all the other spots don't blow the glass and they will only come from the stairs and below the stairs also when in trouble focus on the guards with NO HATS they are the only ones that come for Natalya this level took me about 8 hrs but once I learned that it was 2cd try
In the movie, Boris is a Computer Programmer. He isn't respected by his peers, so he sides with Ourumov and Trevelyan, hoping to take advantage of the Goldeneye project to make millions by assisting their organization. In the movie, he uses his connections to lure Natalya to be trapped, and other then that, is in charge of setting up the special Janus computer network, because he worked on the original project. Early on, Ourumov steals the Goldeneye EMP satellite by destroying the main station with one of the lasers, however; there were two, and the 'accident' is used by Ourumov to cover up the theft of the other by Janus.
@@Kohchu I see. Is he this much of a dweeb in the movie too? And what was with that "disappearing under a air-vent grate and leaving behind body armor" thing? Was that just an Easter Egg for the game?
Well, in the actual movie, yes; Boris is a dweeb; but he is a computer programmer so it makes sense. In the film, Bond causes a ruckus allowing Natalya to sneak into one of the computer rooms, where Natalya changes the access codes for the Cradle right under Boris' nose, Boris being a computer programmer, has to crack the code to reactivate the Cradle to control the Goldeneye satellite. Trevelyan has him held at gun point by a guard until he 'fixes the problem' and to his credit, he actually does... But then Bond jams an iron pipe into the mechanical gears, causing the Cradle realignment to fail. And since this has nothing to do with programming, there's not much Boris can do to fix it. By the end, the entire Cradle ends up blown up, pretty much all the Janus crew is killed in the explosion, and the Cradle itself lands on Trevelyan killing him. The only one who survives the devastation, is Boris, who proclaims he is Invincible... but they say karma is best served cold. As for why he disappears in the vent... I think that's just an easter egg yes; it does lead you to a much needed set of body armor though... but it's at least better then what they did with him in the remade game of Goldeneye for Wii. In that game, Boris just doesn't appear.... At all. They cut him from the story completely.
To each their own. There's nostalgia with the old control scheme, but I personally prefer playing the game with a better control scheme; because it makes the game more enjoyable to experience. Having played the original, I know what it was like... I also felt frustrated on the Switch version, because they didn't adjust the control in a way that makes it easy to adapt to.
@@Kohchu I only ever played it bk in the day with original controller which took months and months to master let alone complete all timed objectives and two unlockable levels on 00 agent....found it extra difficult as I'm right handed and found it easier to use movement stick with left hand freeing up R hand for buttons, yeah that was next level commitment. And this was one of the most devilish levels in the game.
The protect natalya part I absolutely hate about this level

@@Kohchu true. But the drones don’t make you have to restart the level. And fail the objective
Them gaurd just keep comeing and natalya dont help and takes years to do anything and the gaurd randomly spawn sometimes
I hated that part too, and hated the drones too

So...what's the deal with that "Boris" guy?

@@Kohchu Wait...Trevelyan was killed by being crushed? I thought he fell to his death in the movie.
He actually survives that fall, though he probably broke every bone in his body.
Doesn't survive the Cradle exploding and falling on him though.
Hate watching these guys play with a mouse and keyboard. This is no where near as easy with original controls
