So, the answers of Maggy the Frog are vague enough that they could be interpreted in different way, but still giving Cersei the answers she wanted to hear.
Prophecies, by nature, are vague. Ultimately, each choice one makes in life causes a turn in the path they follow. Good to bad. Bad to good. People can be very self fulfilling. Basically she prophecied that Cersei would outlive her children. Given the clan warfares and deaths in childbirth at the time, the chances of her children dying before Cersei had pretty good odds in general.
@@Isabella-nh5dm She never said Cersei will outlive her kids. She said they will die. But everyone is going to die one day and as a Lannister and royalty, of course, there will be gold.
Every evil character in the story must pay something. Cercei's rooted sin was pride. She wanted everything and had it for a moment until the violence she practiced on others came right back to her. Her walk of Shame, losing her three children, never having the approval of her father...all of this came to her because of her desire of being absolute. That's why she perceived her relationship with Jamie and the kids she had with him, as the most reasonable way of prevail in the world. No one cares but me; the life I only create, the people I own ("I sleep with my brother cause it feels good to feel him inside"). She didn't lose her children. She doomed them. The curse was her pride. In the end, the death of her kids was necessary for her to be absolute. Just a queen sitting in the Iron Throne, holding the most absolute power, alone and prideful.
In one fell swoop Cersei took out most of the power of the faith, the Grand Maester(by Qyburn), the lord of the reach/master of coin and ships, his heir, the queen, the Hand/lord of the West and a chunk of court…this is like a Summerhall type of power vacuum

I think the consistent thing in the downfall of Cersei is her uncontrollable anger and need for power. It leads to all of her kids dying. Joffrey learns his cruelty from his mother but when you put together the fact that he has no empathy for other people, it exacerbates the issue making Oléna thinking he would be a danger to Marjory. Once again being quick to anger with blaming her brother for Joffrey death instead of investigating all the people near the king at the time. This starts the process of killing that one dude from Dorn, which leads to Marcella death. Instead of actually paying attention to how her son loved Marjory. She could not get over the fact that there would be another woman with any once of power in her vicinity. At all of these points she could made other decisions to put herself in the better position overall but chose power/herself.
Myrcella’s death was the saddest for me. She was so innocent, genuinely happy with her life and fiancé, and even knew the truth of her parents and was at peace with it. Taken too soon

The prophecy said gold will be their crowns and gold will be their shrouds. This does not mean just their golden hair, but actual crowns. GRRM's world follows strict medieval succession laws. It is a matter of honor for for bannermen as their houses are sworn to the ruling family. Even Robert Baratheon was accepted as king because he had a legitimate right being next in line after Prince Rhaegar's children and siblings through his Targaryen grandmother. So there is no way in seven hells that Cersei would be able to plop her ass on thrown and be accepeted queen regnant. Cersei will marry her daughter to captive Faegon thus putting an actual crown on her, and ruling through them in the last couple of books.

When everyone was getting blown up the CC said [Applause] I couldn't help but laugh a little
Lol I just saw that..😂😂🤣
Every evil character in the story must pay something.
Honestly, poor Tommen and Myrcella didn't deserve their deaths, or their family
The one time Jaime got to embrace one of his children as his child, dies immediately.
I haven’t read the books but I’ve always wonder if this wasn’t a prophecy but a curse
Sometimes prophecies can become curses especially if people believe too much in the prophecy.
As shitty an ending as the show gave, I'm reasonably certain that it's going to be the only ending given to the story based on Martin's lack of give a shit for finishing the story he started last century.
The witch probably just said that "prophecy" to every spoiled brat wanting the wrong things as a kid. 😂
People love to say Cersei loved her children. Cersei didn't give a hot damn about her children and she would gladly eat them if it meant her living for one more day. It is what it is
Cersei was just annoying , a bad person and extremely poor parent who raised a evil brat and practically ignored her other kids.
Tommen’s death was Cersi’s fault.
Tommen didn’t even hesitate to jump
Cersei would have had to say to the Mountain, "Stay with Tommen until you see the Sept of Baelor blow up! "
In the books, she killed the fiend she went with to the witch🤦🤦🤷
Myrcellas death is so sad and just uncalled for
She killed her own kids…. She loved the crown and power more than her kids just like tywin did.
poor tommen just loved his wife 😭
Even tho Joffrey is evil I feel bad seeing a child pass - it’s just sad
Yeah and in the books he was 13 when he died.
Especially since Robert rejected him
"Younger , More Beautiful Queen"
Le : Bran the broken.
Cersei the Mad Queen
No that goes to Kleasie
I agree she is twisted
@@jackmerwood3626 bull that was bad writting from the moment cersei was on screen she's responsible for everything jon Aryan death posined Robert blow up and septum killed queen margary pushed tommon to suicide. responsible for Ned's death and the war
@@mikea2410 Despite the bad writing and the sudden jump change in Dany's character, she's still the mad queen. The gods flip a coin every time a Targaryen is born.
Cersie's murderousness had very clear rationale behind it - survival. Dany's didn't even if the show had been written properly. Dany was the true mad queen even if the show failed to bring it out properly and Emilia Clarke did all she could to convince us so.
@@09kaustubh The desire to survive does not excuse one to the cold blooded murder of hundreds. For a human at least
I don’t like that she didn’t get the last prophecy in the show about who would kill her.
Who
@@fernandoarancibia9678 her younger brother.....the thing is that last prophecy said her younger brother would kill her. Jaime and Tyrion are both her younger brothers. But Cercei believed it was Tyrion the prophecy was talking about.
In the books, me thinks, it might be Jamie 🤷
@@efiaahimah3713 same, especially since it seemed like the angle that was being used was Cersei becoming a Mad Queen. It would full circle for Jamie's character arc.
@@darkrosesforangels in the books he's out of cerseis clutches and ignored her call to bet her champion plus Tyrion is away so there are chances that Jaime could be the valonquar
the show fucked up with that. i have suspicions that martin had this idea all along but he also wants his books to sell so he didnt allow his original ideas to be in the last season so the writers had to make shit up lmao but he just miscalculated it all bc the hype is gone
"Three questions for three lives"
That's how I saw it.
If Myrcella didn't die I think Jamie would've been a completely different person, he would have switched his allegiance from Cercei to her
Margery knew the game. I’m so pissed off that nobody listened to her
The dorne woman was low down for killing Jaime's daughter. And I don't blame tommen for taking a header.
1:31 it was foreshadowed here that she is responsible
"We don't hurt little girls in Dorne." "Everywhere in the world, they hurt little girls."
Tommens death was saddest imo
I think the consistent thing in the downfall of Cersei is her uncontrollable anger and need for power. It leads to all of her kids dying. Joffrey learns his cruelty from his mother but when you put together the fact that he has no empathy for other people, it exacerbates the issue making Oléna thinking he would be a danger to Marjory. Once again being quick to anger with blaming her brother for Joffrey death instead of investigating all the people near the king at the time. This starts the process of killing that one dude from Dorn, which leads to Marcella death. Instead of actually paying attention to how her son loved
Marjory. She could not get over the fact that there would be another woman with any once of power in her vicinity. At all of these points she could made other decisions to put herself in the better position overall but chose power/herself.
The purple wedding was great. 10/10 happy to watch again.
Myrcella’s death was the saddest for me. She was so innocent, genuinely happy with her life and fiancé, and even knew the truth of her parents and was at peace with it. Taken too soon
One thing i wanted... Was that someone in the end told Cersei that everything was her fault... From begining to end all her doing... And just watch her deal with the truth of the situation
I just realised that she was the reason the 3 died
Bad Parenting - Joffery
Accusing Tyrion and then Trial by combat - Myrcella
Killed Margaery - Tommen
For her every actions, she was loosing more than she thought.
Atleast tommen as a kid didn't died as virgin, poor joffery🌝
The sad thing is one led to the other if she didn't hate her brother so much she may not have lost the one child
5:56 called King's Landing for a reason.
Just saying, Cersi had four children. These three and the baby she had with Robert who died in infancy.
I was scrolling forever for someone else to say this! That plot whole has always bothered me.
In the books, Cersei killed the child with Robert the moment she found out she was pregnant. The child never made in past the first trimester
Hearing that prophecy only made her more protective of her children, but Cersei couldn’t save any of them.
Cersei practically pushed Tommen out of that window.
Tommen really said "that's it, I'm done! "
Poor tommen
Myrcella really didn't deserve to die. Poor thing
I still think in the books the "younger queen" is going to end up being Myrcella.
I think is all about Daenerys
I think it's Sansa
By "younger queen" she probably meant margaery
There’s a lot of possibilities. marg, Sansa, dany. Cersei is an evil paranoid woman and would def see them all as threats
I think Tommen jumped because the only woman who loved him for him or atleast could stand to be around him and hear his thoughts died. He knew he was never king but to lose her with such devastation of his mother’s doing hence the big knight guy.
You a follow. Just for how you edited these scenes together. Masterful
I like that Olenna hates him but is still a consummate professional, demanding they help their king.
I remember letting out a little giggle when Joffrey was dying🤭
Bro knew tyrion knew where to get the best wine in the kingdom
The last brother’s death really took me by surprise. He just completely broke.
it’s like the children of the Lannisters are the one paying their lives , I mean for Joffrey he really deserves it
3:21
Well damn, did she not have any love or care with/from Robert?
I hope cercei knows that her children’s deaths are all her fault. Including Tommen. She loved her children but she killed them all.
i've just lost the hottest woman in kings landing! PEACE OUT!
Felt cute, might pull a Tommen later
Gold their crowns and gold their shrouds.
Jack Gleeson played his role SO DAMN BRILLIANT people hated him. He did not deserve the treatment he got from the "fans".
He finally got married recently. He found his queen
*Mycella had Cersei's intelligence & Tywin's cunning when you think of it. she deduced that Jamie was her father years ago and decided for herself that it was good for her...AND, kept it close to her vest. she was the best child IMO.* 👸🏼🩸⛵
I just realized that the witch is Queen Calanthe from The Witcher
Same 🤯
ahh my favourite scene, the brat king choking to death.
Tommens death hurts me I’ll be honest.
Everyone is talking about Tommen but what about Marcella?
I love this scene in concept but there's no mention of it again and the writers didn't even remember that Cersi killed her first child because it was Roberts so she actually had four children
In the books, Cersei killed the child the moment she found out that she was pregnant. The child was never born, the only children that were born were the three
@@brooklynbarlow6515 Fair play, but it doesn't fit in the show which should stand separate from the books by this point
@@krispysis The only mention of Robert’s child with Cersei is in the first season and it’s Cersei telling Caitlyn to get the spotlight on herself and not the fact that Bran may die. Cersei is a pathological liar and a manipulator. The books and the show are very close to each other clear up to season three
The prophecy said gold will be their crowns and gold will be their shrouds.
1:10 first time I've seen tywin lannister enjoying family moments
