Wow that lume looked incredible. I’ve only really looked at dive watches but like the simplicity of the Pilots. Great to see the watch on different straps too.
@@deanwaller8283 build quality is excellent! Precise machining, great dial and lume & smooth crown action. Feels like it should say Laco on the dial ;)
‘There’s always time to be kind’ ... That was awesome Aviv. Thanks for the shoutout. That was really cool to see. Great review btw. I’m liking this brand. I’ll have to check it out.
EXCELLENT watch by san martin. very bright lume. 200m water resistance, sapphire crystal, screw down case back and crown. mine is the quartz version and the movement has a end of battery life indicator
I have both the type A and type B designs...... I have them on a Max Marine Nationale Parachute style strap (Green with yellow pin stripe) and they look great and are extremely comfortable on wrist!
I just received this watch and crown feels a little tougher/gritty than my other watches when I screw it down. Did you experience this with yours? Thanks!
That's cool to hear from someone who has both! Like I said, I wanted the cleaner no-date dial of the San Martin. Otherwise I probably would have bought the Steeldive.
But there is that date window on the steeldive and the minute markers are connected by an outer circle, like a half train track, on the San Martin. i went the cheaper route and sometimes have regrets looking at that date window. how is the strap on the San Martin in comparison? I wouldn't praise the steeldive strap so exited like our reviewer did for the San Martin strap.
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection if no date, I understand, as for a clean 'no logo' there is one seller that does the steeldive without logo. I bought the no date from San Martin for me anw the date version from steeldive for my son, I ended up buying a second steeldive for me, I thought the date would bother me, actually it didn't.. :))))
@@katerhofmann to be honest, the SanMartin leather strap old better the time, but could not say which I prefer :))) As for the lume, I though I preferred the SanMartin, but once I git the steeldive, I find the steeldive execution cleaner easier to read in the dark
This does look pretty nice. Great review as always mate... But personally I think the Escapement Time is better value for money. I absolutely love mine.
No one else I subscribe to has showed me that one. Seems a perfect simple flieger I was looking at a Laco but with exchange dollar for Canada it was beyond my budget.
A lot of strap options here! I've only heard good things about the quality of San Martin. I do feel like their prices are creeping up lately with some of their new models.
Great review! I love San Martin's other models, but I don't see much difference between this flieger and the much cheaper Steeldive fliegers. You should check out Escapement Time - the quality and value on them is bonkers!
Nice review. I have a Corgeut version that I quite like. This seems a step up though with the Seiko movement and AR coating. 👍 I just wish they would make a larger crown, Onion or cupcake.
It's definitely a step up from the Corgeut. But also, the Corgeut is around half the price of the San Martin so for itself it's still a good value watch! Thanks for watching Alton 😊
The one thing that confuses me is that there's no price difference between mech and quartz version. You'd think the latter would cost at least 30 USD less. Also no difference in thickness?
The quartz movement is Swiss made Ronda, so its pricier than Chinese or Japanese movements. That might explain the small price difference between the quartz and automatic versions. And they use the same case for both versions...
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection If you buy them in bulk, I expect around 35 USD for a Seiko NH35, but maybe 10 USD for a Ronda. There should still be a signficant difference. I wonder why nobody ever goes for a Seiko VH mecha-quartz movement btw. Those can't cost more than 20 USD either.
I love that mockup of the “There’s always time to be kind to one another” 😁😁😁 This San Martin Flieger is really somethin’. Makes me want to upgrade my Corgeut Flieger! 😅

i bet the version on the bracelet is even better!!! so much quality with SM! i think they regulate the movements before they send them out

Love this watch. Think I'm gonna grab one.
Only thing I wish it had was blue lume instead of green. I never found green lume that attractive.
It's a matter of taste, I personally like green lume better. I think it also fits this specific watch better. Is green lume a deal breaker for you?
Having both the San Martin and the steeldive version, I would say steeldive is the same quality and even cheaper :)

All of San Martin pilots have too narrow "3", it looks like 1.5 times narrower than "9". That's slightly annoying :)
