As a physiotherapist I used to work in a private hospital in Ahmedabad. The management of that hospital put lot of pressure on me to generate revenue. In the end, I had to leave that hospital because that hospital belonged to a politician.
Could relate to each and every fact stated in the video. I lost my younger brother from dengue in 2017. He was admitted in Regency a multi-speciality hospital in Kanpur, he was admitted there for near about 15 days. After being the hospital for four days, his condition started improving but all of a sudden they said he would need to go on ventilator for 2 days, there is nothing to worry about, its just the matter of two days. But after two days, they kept on saying that they would observe him for one more day on ventilator. This went on for near about 8 days and then my brother who was just 11 years old, left us forever. They only allowed us to meet him twice a day for five minutes only. He left us when no one was with him, it still breaks my heart that no one was with him when he was in pain, when he was leaving us. We were helpless, we were charged around rupees 12 lac. It wasn't just about the money, it was the false hopes that they gave us by putting him on ventilator. Whenever we said that we would take him to some other hospitals, the doctors started warning us that its risky get him somewhere else being on the ventilator. I wish we would have not listened to them, sometimes we feel like we could save him if we would have not listened to them, because they only let us meet him twice, he was just 11 years who needed his mother beside him, who could him strength to fight that battle, but they didn't allow. Its been six years since he left us, but still not a single day has passed that we don't remember him.😭
I am so sorry for your loss.. It's a heartbreaking thing which happened.. I can feel ur pain..they r monsters this medical mafia..poor kid.. I am a mother too... May God give ur family lots of strength and happiness in the future.. What happened to ur family was a nightmare.. Sending u my wishes
I could never understand the loss that you're going through. Reading about your experince...when youre brother was on the vent it is advisable to not shift him anywhere else as there a lot of things that could go wrong during the process. And im thinking youre brother was kept in isolation at the ICU so its natural that they dont allow visitors because those are sterile spaces and they need to be maintained the same. But idk the entire story so I cannot comment any further. They should've taken proper consent from you for the procedures being done. About the false hope part I didn't understand. Ventilator isn't false hope. It's a devise to assist in oxygen delivery when the body is failing to do so. And yes intubating pt. Comes with risks. But the good it does far outweighs the risks.
Billing is done by the hospitals not by the doctors. They both are separate entities. Doctors take an oath and they abide by it. Corporates don't have an oath. A doctor does everything in his power to abide by his oath. People have really got to stop blaming doctors without knowing all the facts.
@@charuvikram9786 Before the day, he left us, the doctors all of a sudden started complying with the fact that yes we could take him wherever we want and then in morning he left us.
@@charuvikram9786 things started make sense after I watched the video where Aditya mentioned that modern hospitals work like a corporate world where doctors are given targets to be achieved within the stipulated time. I understand the fact that everyone is not the same, but even the politicians take oath to carry on their duty honestly but does it ever happen, in fact they are the most corrupt officials in the country. Hence, taking an oath is no guarantee that a person is honest.
I support your work, you have done a good job in bringing this issue to limelight. Last month a private hospital charged us 3K for treating viral fever using paracetamol, the treatment lasted for 35 min 😢
Why so apologetic, you don't over bill patients, if at all hospitals do. And at the end of the day these are for profile organizations. P.s : also a doctor
@K&R Thanks for acknowledging the fact and realising the corrupt system... I do have huge respect for doctors, but there are some doctors who encash from this corrupt system. I do understand that being in the system and not follow its norms might be difficult but encouraging corruption is not the right choice !!
Why they are greedy sir ? Reservation, high education fees and too much of pressure, tell me kya koi aur profession me nai hota ye ? Doctors ko bas blame karna hoga then why doctors won't start being inhuman if they hv to face inhuman bhv by people ?
I have a fantastic solution for this issue. In the United States, credit card owners have certain protection rights, such as the ability to initiate a chargeback. A chargeback, also referred to as a dispute, allows the bank that issued your credit card to reclaim funds from the retailer's (hospital) bank when you don't satisfied with the services you paid for. This process includes penalties imposed on the retailer's(hospital) bank.
Lost my brother yesterday, 30 days on ventilator, body weight gone to 25 kgs only for a 18 year old boy. some insiders told us that case was of only 2 days, but they stretched the treatment to 30-40 days to loot our hard earned money, they charged 20 lakhs and hand over the dead body. Please share this video so that the government get pressurized and no body in future go through this situation. This case was of RHL hospital, jaipur This is the story of every hospital. The whole hospital industry is so bad that we have only two safe options either stay healthy or die at home only.

Very few people have courage to make such type of video... whatever he told is damm true... Including management, many paramedical staffs and doctors are involved in this Nexus. I visited a pvt. hospital for diarrhoea treatment. They wrote chest X-ray and Full body Sonography as diagnostic test. I denied but they did it and found nothing in report. Overall i got the bill of 8K just for 2 days in hospital. They nurses unnecessary wasted the saline. They asked us to bring 500 ml of NS but they used only 200 ml. Rest of the amount was trashed in dustbin. Same thing happen for some other medicine also. From that day i lose the respect for health care workers. It was bad experience but its true.. Apart, I respect those doctor's or staff who work honestly.
1) Who is telling you to go to private hospital for treatment if it's expensive just go to govt hospital 2) when u enter private hospital the consultation and admission chargers are well explained to relative after that when patient and relative agree with that then only treatment is started no body forces u to do that. 3) No private hospital can force you to buy medicine or do diagnostic test in there premises the patient is free to do wherever he wants. 4) and if you think the dr has advised extra test Or medicine patient can cross check with any other dr which is known to them.
We need to have many more hospitals so that there is competition and plenty of doctors. Need to educate people as well. If there are many doctors and hospitals, these problems can get overcome. Govt should create many more AIIMS in every state and spend more on healthcare.. But this is all just we can only think of.

Hello, Aditya please go through this comment carefully, speaking as a doctor practicing in corporate. Answering as in order of your points. 1. There is a lot of difference between hospitals and doctors. Doctors did not over-bill, the hospital did. These are two separate entities. 2. If the government wishes they can regulate the MRP of drugs and consumables. 3. Relatives are almost always told about the critical condition of their patients. 4. Before putting on the ventilator, consent is obtained (unless it's an emergency when there is no time to do so) 5. Doctors earn way less than their age counterparts in other fields. 6. Profit from consumables and drugs has to compensate for the entire nursing staff and supporting staff. 7. If people choose to get admitted in private hospitals, they are told beforehand about the per day cost. I feel there is a lot of bias against doctors earning which is unfair. I respect your content and have been an avid viewer but I really think you should put both sides of the story. If you want to discuss further I'm open to dialogue.

Teaching empathy to doctors will provide no solutions, bcoz these scams are controlled by owners and top management people of the hospitals, out of which hardly 5-10% include doctors (mostly there are having connections or are extremely senior). Rest 90% doctors don't have any control over all these profits. Politicians and businessmen sitting at the top of hospital management are heading these scams and unfortunately no one is going to do anything against them, as they aren't soft targets 😌 So the problem is actually very deep rooted.

I think one of the most effective solutions you forgot to mention is Insurance, Most of the developed countries use insurance which is a must for every citizen and which covers almost everything except a few rare diseases. With special extra insurance that can also be covered. For poor people, we have free insurance but unfortunately, our people really don't know about that so we need to make aware of them. In India we need national insurance which should be eligible in every single hospital. I know these private hospitals will try to exploit that too but once govt will realizes they will start to monitor every single medicine and all and it will be an effective system just like any other country.
But here is the catch ,in name of insurance this private hospitals will charge you more , in fact they will earn more for an insured patients compare to uninsured patients
@@dhruvpatel7969 yeah that's true.. and that's why i mention that all hospital bills should be regulated through Insurance. In developed countries most of the people have national insurance and with that they really don't have to pay huge amount. they normally pay 5-10 percent of bill and rest of the amount will be paid by insurance directly so its upto hospital and insurance how they will handle it. As insurance is most of the time national insurance so the government can handle the price of that medice which they can use and their price also govt can regulate. I think what we need is we just need to follow some develop country insurance modal, study them, and modify as per our requirements and implement them.

Thank you for making this video it was much needed for everyone. And also need to share something which is about my mother aged 78yrs. Its a common thing at this age sometimes she forget things and after sometimes its ok so one day my brother took her to GNRC dispur guwahati where she went by car and it was parked in a lane near hospital and from the parking she walked to the hospital and met the doctor which means she was physically fit. my brother discussed the matter with the doctor who said to admit her for 2 days after that she'll be ok than take her home than my mother opposed and said she is ok and want to go home but my brother thought better admit her as the doctor said she'll be fine in two days so this is were we made a mistake by admiting my mother in hospital as we trusted the doctor they admitted her in ICU my mother opposed again and said that she's fine and wants to go home but we didn't listen to her thinking that she'll be taken good care and we'll do the check ups whats necessary and in ICU they tied her legs and hands as she was struggling to get down from the bed. And by evening doctor said she needs ventilator and we asked the reason they said she had mild stroke for which I had to sign. Till about 10 days we were there without any recovery and getting worse day by day and finally we decided to shift her in GMCH guwahati where she was kept in ventilator for about 20 days and couldn't survive. If we listen to our mother and didn't admit her in GNRC HOSPITAL than I think my mother would have survived till now .

This will need a lawsuit and a thorough enquiry

Hello, Aditya please go through this comment carefully, speaking as a doctor practicing in corporate. Answering as in order of your points.
1. There is a lot of difference between hospitals and doctors. Doctors did not over-bill, the hospital did. These are two separate entities.
2. If the government wishes they can regulate the MRP of drugs and consumables.
3. Relatives are almost always told about the critical condition of their patients.
4. Before putting on the ventilator, consent is obtained (unless it's an emergency when there is no time to do so)

It's not about insurance it's about rational charging. Overinflation is the key problem, wo sudhar jaye toh genuine price toh sabhi dete hain
@@drashutoshh Yeah that's also one reason, and that's why i suggest price of these medicine should be controlled by govt. I had criticized many of this channels video due to some relevant reasons, but this video deserves a big thumps up. Whatever you have put & described is absolutely correct out of my personal experience.
Government Should provide more funds for government hospitals and also increase more number of hospitals in rural and sub urban areas. unless the government hospitals improve there infrastructure and medical staff the private hospitals will run the show and rob the people which even the higher authorities cannot control.
Private hospital hi open karege - govt....... Kyoki Treatment karna govt ka work nhi hai. Privatization hi future hai.
Right 👍👍 Every body should be aware
As a pharmacist I know this brutal reality of this hospitals..and doctors are writing test and medicine by the basis of cash of Representatives..the ultimate truth of our health system 😢
We studied that hospitals and educational institutions were considered as Non-profititable institutions however these days its opposite and they are considered as the most profitable. Its very sad that the government is least interested in the health sector. Hence common man has to pay the price for that . It's a vicious cycle that never ends.
Amazing work bro, it's sad that many people have lost their integrity for money
In India there is alot of unskilled doctor working in hospitals but due to shortage of Doctors we accept them
I LOST MY FATHER DURING COVID 19 PANDAMIC 2021 . MY FATHER ALSO ADMITED IN SHREE RAM PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN JODHPER .Private hospitals used to ask to take medicines only from their hospital, they used to charge much more money for medicines than government or other hospitals. If the money was not handed over to their medical store, they used to charge interest. Even he used to get his gloves, masks, and sanitizers with our money. He earns a lot of money by playing with the emotions of a person. Every person wants to see his loved ones healthy, that's why he gives the asked amount. The government should bring a concrete law on this foot. I MISS MY FATHER ALOT 😭😭. I AM JUST 17 WHEN MY FATHER LEFT ME. AND NOW I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF MY FAMILY .
My condolences to you bro.
But this problem cannot be solved because of politics.
My suggestion for you is to be educated and apply for foreign universities and leave this system. Tell this to your siblings as well so they'll also be safe .
Hospital delay treatment, and unnecessary procedures for increasing patient bills and risk patients life.

In the end the biggest and the ultimate problem is our education system
People get what they deserve, chose your government wisely who's is going to provide good education system and healthcare systems,
This happens because Governments are also involved in this
Make a same on Education system looted by private colleges & universities.
The problem is that most of the financial schemes u listed are dictated by the hospital management which itself is made up of huge businessmen who run it as any other business(concerned with profit only), also in Punjab at least the govt hospitals r so overburdened with patients and understaffed that giving decent treatment is not possible, India progressively is becoming like all other first world countries where healthcare without having insurance will make u broke whether that’s a good or bad thing is up for debate !!!
Exactly same thing has happened with my relatives. But thank god they had railway insurance.
I wish your channel touches the 1 million subscribers margin soon.Your analysis is very good.🙏
This is so true i have notice such things in private hospitals....they list unnecessary tests ....
How did you know ?? Those are unnecessary test... Tere pass madical ka knowledge he kia chutia...
Thanks to Rajasthan Government for the revolutionary amendment bill for these private hospitals
Actually
Pharma,DRS , Government all are responsible for this
The way you have explained is absolute correct
Every DRS attached to a private hospital has their Target minimum number of patients should be admitted
Pathology , xray, sonography,MRI , everywhere commission
False treatment , going for false transplant
In Pune this happens very frequently all private Hospital included
I am one of the victims
I even worked in a Pharma company for 28 yrs
Still be lotted
Excellent information from you Aditya

ICU is the most profitable segment of any hospitals. Means very high ROI.
Working on a startup to counter the problem...... ❤
All of your videos are absolutely amazing in quality and content. Kudos to the efforts
This Could not be stopped unless you improve govt hospital facilities .
Bravest video on UA-cam... Hat's off brother 🙏 keep going ❤
So true ...Hope some government officials watch this and act ..

Lol. Most hospitals are always full.

I want to share something , 3 years ago my father was admitted in a leading private hospital in Delhi , where when his surgery was done he wasn't discharged even after 3 months and when we were in the hospital corridor one of the doctors came to me and asked me what the other doctors were saying on my father's health , I told him that the doctors have done almost everything and we were just waiting for them to discharge him from the hospital but then that doctor told me something shocking he said the those doctor wouldn't want to eliminate their money METER . After that I told my parents about that and then we immediately got my father discharged .
Rajasthan had made the best move !!!! ❤
Thank you sir for providing us such a useful information.❤❤
very imp topic ......rakshak he bhakshk ban gae hai ......gov ko bahut strict action lene chaye ....nahi to gareeb ko kcuh nahi milne wala even middle class sab luta deta hai in hospitals me .....gov ko price tag karna chaye na
So true..this needs to change!!
Must be reported. Take action Against these private hospitals.
Keep spreading awareness 🔥
Solution No 3
Take your Term Life Insurance
Healthcare should be free . These hospitals should be banned.
How much you pay taxes?😂
Please make video about law mafia...
And please do extra research about how corporate sector works in healthcare...
Target them specifically not doctors ...Doctors are just employees.....
My mother also needed a treat ment in 2021 but when she went to BLK hospital . They demanded 25000 Rs for admission fees. Now my mother is well but it takes around four months in government hospital to identify the cause of illness. After that she completed the prescribed course of treatment.
I think there should be a proper health facilities provided in government sector.
Boht badhiya yaar, ap boht ache topics uthate ho. Jo ki normal logo se jude topic h
Cost of becoming doctor ranges from zero to 3 crore nd unlimited hrs Of hardwork nd patience
So first you should talk about fees in private medical colleges for 8.5 years(5.5 years mbbs nd 3 years pg)
And doctors are not over charging its the management
Also no one questions the state government about poor infrastructure nd lack of basic amenities in hospital.
This is bcoz many private medical colleges are run by politicians.Government is itself involved in the scandal.
Many politicians charge election funds from pvt.hospitals
You have pointed out the actual cause.
That doesn't mean the doctor's should be allowed to loot as much as they want.
@@bulu9214 go and check the salaries In medical collages and private hospitals before talking stupid things…. It’s the hospital owners not us.
I agree with you but ig it was your wish to become a doctor so obviously you worked hard ...

The best we can do as a normal middle class person is to take a health insurance.
1)cost of real estate
2)cost of construction
3)cost of hospital infrastructure
4)operational costs : round the clock consulting doctors, nurses, OT Technicians, duty doctors, ward boys, pharmacists, lab technicians, respiratory therapists, critical care physicians, house keeping staff, HR department, maintainance staff, quality control dept staff, managers, floor incharges, supervisors, reception staff
electricity bills, stationery, marketing expenses
cost for hiring security to protect hospital staff from hooligans.
please calculate all of this and please guide hospitals with your amazing knowledge and wisdom as to how much a hospital should charge a patient on ventilator in critical care unit for 24 hrs. please compare rates in india with other countries with better healthcare system also. please enlighten us.
One more doubt. I am currently treating a patient with intra cranial bleed who is comatose on ventilator. chances of his survival are less because he had kidney failure also. he might stay alive on ventilator for a week or so and die in minutes by disconnecting ventilator. by keeping him on ventilator till end of life, patient attenders have to bear hospital expenses till his death. please suggest whether ventilator should be discontinued or continued till end of life. This patient might have seizures(fits) at any point of time. can I use emergency medications from crash cart or call this patient attenders send him to pharmacy, wait till he procure medicines and then treat him? if I use medicines from crash cart, how should I prove to the patient attender that I have actually used them. please enlighten me
I will wait for your calculation
Boss laymen won't understand all this... it's too complicated for a bhakt's brain to comprehend.
Lmao you really don’t understand the point of the video, right? Let me throw some light: he’s talking about how greedy oligarchs have taken over a service sector so very essential to society. How they’re looting, putting on a shitshow for all the marbled lobbies with inefficient receptionists and managers running around. How they’re tied up with big pharmas and other corporate giants to entrench their claws into the system.
Agree with you
Technical part on ventilation is ok. But dont try to justify the cost of opening a hospital with charges. If u look at narayana , they r also in d same business. Why r they different from others? They r also doing business, but ethically.
@@GSh-pg6bh COST OF OPENING HOSPITAL GOES BETWEEN 25CR TO 100CR. how could that be not taken into account.

Similar incident happened with my cousin sister. She was brain dead but they played with our emotions and kept her artificially alive for 10 days and charged lakhs.
How can they even think to do this with an infant. 😢
Your every line is 100% correct.
This is true bro , this same situation happened in Bangalore , one of my relatives had faced same problem .
I don't know if these things are still happening or not? But there are now rules and regulations for all these stuff that were happening. I knew about all these from the age of 10 as my whole family is of doctors
What about mbbs and pg fees…. Nd govt failure in health care….
