Just bought this bass for a young guy that wants to learn about an hour before watching this video. I liked this one the best and Indonesian basses are really good from personal experience buying many of them. My favorite bass is a 5 string but beginners should always play 4 string first.
Did buy it not for being inexpensive but because a P bass with a jazz neck is what i was looking for! a Bone nut, EMG Pickups and an aliexpress gold anodized aluminnium pick guard and a fret leveling after...this plays and sounds on the same league basses cost 10 to 15 times more (OK 10 times after the upgrades). And your back will thank you too because it´s light weight. I even pulled the trigger on the black one waiting to get it in a couple of days!
Nice demo and some great playing. You should check out the Squier Debut bass. They’re surprisingly decent for their price point, it pairs nicely with a Fender Rumble 25 for a beginner set up.
Yeah, the GZR EMGs are killer pickups. The song you referenced is She Caught The Katy by Taj Mahal, Blues Bros. version with Duck Dunn on bass. Thanks for watching!
Slap? I’m out
🤣🤣🤣
@@DavePorterBand Slapped him right out of the video!

Thanks for this video. I decided to play bass and this guitar is gonna be my first bass guitar 😍
You won't regret it! Thanks for watching!
Best $219 I ever spent. I have a brand new players P-Bass and the neck in this one feels better.
Thanks for watching!

Coming from an Epiphone Thunderbird, a little bit of neckdive is the least of my worries, looks like a handy little instrument
Certainly is likely to play better than your Gear4Music LA basses

Also known as, my wife doesn’t know it yet but she’ll be buying me a new bass soon. 😂
Love the J neck on a P, Hate single ply pickguards.
Easy to change, and still an amazing deal for the price
Locked in at Fat Bottom Girls. Well played sir.
😂😂😂 Thanks!
Good Video and Demo Dave Thank You 😉
Thanks for watching!
I think you sold me. A set of Geezer Butlers in there and some Black Beautie strings. Killer bass and affordable.
Song at 3:38 ?
Thanks!

Complete beginner here: regarding the unequal weight distribution, is it possible to add weights to the guitar or is it a non-issue?
Id save up 100 more and get a sire p5
Nice job and great playing Dave! At 66 yrs. old, the light weight is appealing to me. How did it balance on a strap?
Not too bad on a strap but you still notice a bit of neck dive. Thanks for watching!
