So true. It didn't make any sense at all to most of the viewers who followed this competition. I watched each episode of Singer 2018 like crazy from start to final. I’d say they were not ready for KZ so they eliminated her. Lol! 🤣 She was incredibly amazing that each time she sang you'll think she'll top the bar and make it straight to the finals. I believe the show was prejudiced in favor of Jessie J. Understandable since JJ was solidly known everywhere, and KZ was only known locally in her country. One thing I won't hold a grudge with Singer 2018 was the band. The band was superbly extraordinary. Thanks for this, Whitney! Have a good one. 👍🏻🎶🤗💕

It was just all bad timing that she landed 8th on that week of a Knockout Round. My son and I reviewed repeatedly the performances of the other singers that landed 7th, 6th, 5th that week (Tengger, James Li, Hua Chenyu) to see if any of them could instead have landed 8th. Singing, an almost pure subjective experience, can only be second judged (by us) with the number of possible missteps in execution or a missed note. That particular week, those that landed 7,6 and 5 put in excellent performances that we could not find anything objectively bad. Just keep in mind KZ is a relative unknown in that contest, competing against artists who are well established music icons easily recognized by at least a BILLION people in that country alone. KZ has definitely left a huge impression on the international music scene as evidenced by two more appearances after her departure. That's boss level artistry right there

Not only was KZ eliminated from The Singer, this was the performance that did it. Hard to believe, but this was voted the worst performance of the night and combined with a bad vote from the previous episode, that put KZ last and she was off the show. She did perform a few more times after this. A farewell song, followed by a second chance round that KZ didn't win and then she performed with Jessie J and Coco Lee (The Singer 2016 winner) in the final episode on Bang Bang. I've never understood how KZ was eliminated either. The best I can come up with was that the show had spent a lot of money to get Jessie J to come to China and be on the show for several months and the producers wanted the season to end up as Jessie J vs Chinese singers. Therefore, KZ was messing with their plans and had to go even if it made no sense.

There was a big article about it after the show was over....She got so many votes for the first song, they rigged it so votes did not count for KZ....Even KZ said in an interview last year she should have stepped out of her comfort zone and did something different from the beginning (it is on YT) she knew she was out if you listen to the intro to this song...she thanks the people and Her Father ...
