We had such a fun time teaching our kids to wake surf. When we filmed this video, Dorothy was 7 yrs old, Manilla was 5 yrs old, and Baby Calihan was only 2 yrs old! My have they grown up so quickly! It makes me extra grateful that we make these family videos and can forever treasure these special memories.

Dorthy is always so serious and holds so much responsibility towards others (like immediately asking what she did wrong when Dad was teaching her in the shallows) but the moment she let go of the rope and let herself feel the moment riding the wake. That big ole smile and you knew she just felt free and was flying in her own moment. Beautiful.

Your family massively inspired us during the pandemic to follow our dreams. In 7 weeks we leave England for good for our new home and dream life by the ocean, in the sunshine. We’re so excited to be able to surf again everyday and enjoy all that our new life offers. Thank you ❤️
My dad taught me to water-ski at a lake in Idaho. This was in the 70's. My favorite memories.

Do not know these people. Will never meet or see these kids in person. But, I cried every time one of them stood up and more again when the boat cheered. So much positivity, love, and friendship. Toss in those amazing “I can do anything” kids and makes the heart swell.

This made me so happy, I am actually crying! I am a 1st Grade/ Year 2 teacher in England and these experiences and achievements these children have are amazing and are what every child should have to thrive!
My favorite part... Garrett slowly building their skills. Starting small and going step by step. That’s the best kind of learning. That honors their nervous systems. And honors relationship. Love Garrett for this. And just the joy and love that’s ever present in the family and with the friends. Such a dream.

This whole video was my favorite part! Dorothy at the end when she asked to go again because she loved it so much. She stayed up for so long!! Manilla when he kept body surfing 🤣 and little Cali, he was so scared but I bet now since learning how to surf, I bet he will be wake surfing in no time! Also loved this old footage. I love your family.
Wow!!! So proud of Dorothy, Manilla and even little Cali on this video... Dorothy is incredible and smart... once she gets the hang of something... like surfing, or wake board surfing for that matter, she goes for it and just does what she is trying within the first or second time of doing it.... Manilla is the same way... they are just so smart and fearless!
I wish I grew up with half of the confidence you instilled in your children! I am the youngest of 6 kids.... was always told I could not do whatever it was I was wanting to try to do... I don't believe I was really ever encouraged to do much of anything really... I'm 60, and still don't have much confidence in myself, although I had done more than I ever imagined when I joined the Army, and figured things out on my own, better ways of doing things, and accomplished more than I could have imagined! Sad to say it, but I knew I needed to get away from the negativity of my family to see what I could accomplish on my own... they even told me I would never make it in the Army... I served proudly for 4 years and enjoyed it with my new family so to speak!
I enjoy watching your family, and watching your kids learn about so much of the world around them. I am not able to travel at all now due to my husband's health issues, as well as my own health issues, but I can still appreciate when others are having a great time! You are awesome parents Garrett and Jessica.... I wish there were more parents like you in this world of ours, you are also awesome teachers and instill your knowledge, bravery, courage and strength in your children... our world would be a much better place if our "leaders" would follow your example.... may God continue to bless you all!

You are probably one of the best fathers I have seen in my 43 yrs in terms of spending time for kids, your energy you spend for them, passing your skills to them, mentoring them, and an excellent trainer with no unnecessary worries of future. I knew I wasn't crazy! 🤪Kids looked so much younger in last 2 videos. That's why I always read 'Description'. These are amazing home videos not only of kids overcoming, but your friends love and generosity to your family is a memory to cherish. Brooks has a lovely lake home! I would totally frame and hang pic of Dorothy grinning @21:35 after Dad says how proud he is of her. The home sitting in the trees on R and big American flag in the distance on the L made a stunning backdrop! U are so lucky to have such kind, loving, giving friends in your life. May these bonds hold for a lifetime as u all continue to thrive/grow on your own as circumstances change and life evolves for everyone.🙏🏽 I've never missed a video and will continue as long as u r willing to share. U inspire me in my own life on so many levels as I have battled and will continue to overcome my own obstacles. After loss of family and 17 years of poor health, I have conquered personal battles w/diabetes, weight (lost 130#), and more recently Colon Cancer. Hoping in a year to be able to continue my lifelong goal of seeing more of this beautiful planet. Until I can get there, u help me see the possibilities and experience the joy of travel vicariously thru your videos!💝 I am so excited to see where life takes me! Your kids are amazing but that comes from having two amazing parents. It's so hard to push any child past their comfort zone because it can seem rough on them but in the end they almost always are grateful that they tried it and most often they learn so much about themselves from the experience. I almost cried watching Dorothy when she throws the rope away for the very first time and leans like she might fall but then her surfing experience helped her to get her feet back underneath her and off she went. Wow! Just Wow!
The end gave me chills I swear I was teary eyed like a mama lol! The look on dorthys face is amazing and priceless! A moment she will remember the rest of her life!
