Thank you. I’m still fighting temptations, and trying to permanently disconnect from some people. I literally just had the realization that the reason I was still battling was because I hadn’t fully chose to accept it as wrong. Not just something I couldn’t do, but something God doesn’t want for anyone. In faith I continue to claim my deliverance and am clinging to the Holy Spirit to take these steps and maintain the walk. It’s been two years now, and I really thought I had it nipped in the bud. Yet we will wrestle with temptation until the day we live again in eternity with God. It’s not a sin to be tempted, the sin is in giving in. You’re not forgotten or cast away because you’re tempted. I just wanted to say that incase anyone else needed it. The Spirit will overcome the flesh, He didn’t promise it wouldn’t be a fight, but He promised not to leave you in it alone. He promised that in Spirit you actually are already victorious we just gotta walk this walk. Don’t let the “noise” distractions the enemy tries to throw make you think you’ve lost your salvation. Jesus already secured that bag! We just gotta keep our eyes on Him and believe He will helps us “He is faithful and just to fulfill the work He began in you” HE DOES IT….
Hi, I like to share my struggle with same sex attraction. I used to believe I was gay and even used to identify as one till I decided to be really serious about my christian life. I have been christian all my life and by the grace of God I have never struggled with sexual attraction to the same sex for 3 years now. I like to consider myself fortunate because even before I was saved I never really explored the lifestyle in terms of dating a guy or even having sexual relationship with one. However I still struggle with emotional attraction to the same sex so much, it's like he took away the sexual attraction but not the emotional attraction. How did you overcome that?
She never replies to things like this because no one ever completely “overcomes” SSA. You can only choose to be celibate. The attraction doesn’t go away or change. Some people can be content with or even thrive within a celibate lifestyle, but as the Bible says celibacy is a lifestyle that one has to be called for, because many can’t and shouldn’t live that way.
