before 1989, there were AM Generals in Minneapolis that sounded and looked very similar to this bus with the exception of the front window . They were my favorite type of bus growing up.
That sound reminds me of Ex NYCTA Grumman Flxible 870 Buses 1501 - 1619 and 2000 - 2518 which we had them until 2000 bus # 1596 is the lonely survivor and it's at the Lakewood garage 1595 was my favorite one riding those buses on the 505 lines back in the 90s when I was a kid and my sisters and brother rode them
i remember these buses and i remeber riding on a few of them before they were totally retired in 1998 or so there of. to bad community transit got rid of them all, i wish they didnt cause they along with the rts buses they had had the detroit engine i hated when they got the new flyer buses with the eagle engines in 1995 through 1999 oh god do i hate the eagle. i say permenently install a detroit and be done with it make it the only diesel made for a bus.
Hey does anyone remember the Winnipeg transit bus where it has 1 door in the front and it slides in and back doors open out ain't that called the Orion 1 bus
Ken Hrycuk Mobile ,Alabama had them back in 1989 they were 35 feet in length actually the single door swivels open it connected at the top and bottom of the door .
Does Winnipeg auction these off or can you buy them off of them. I have being looking for one to buy, an older one like this or a western flyer, something in the 1980's style, the one with a really big rear window. I think there was a blue bomber bus back then, that kinda of bus, I think the bus unit was 824 or something like that. can you inbox me on anything thanks
Effin BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING BUS!! Nice catch on the high revs of the 6V71N.
I love the sound of that engine, as it's music 🎼 to my ears👂🏻👂🏻! always have.
Man that sounds beautiful.
@1ajs - At least this bus has been preserved and will hopefully be around for quite some time now.

Too bad Brandon Manitoba's old buses are totally gone. They were the best buses I ever rode.
They sound like a Grummann Flxible 870 buses from 1977-1981 models
I think we had a ride on them, and i wonder if David Powell drove them
the mbta in Boston had flyers very good busses
This one seems so slow compared to 4574 flyer in San Francisco muni.
