  • Join us in the fur shed as Jake walks you through the process of scraping or fleshing an otter hide.
Fleshing is a necessary part of the hide preparation process that removes excess fat and meat, allowing for an even and quick dry.
This part of the fur preparation process can be difficult as it requires time and patience and each species of animal is treated slightly different.
If you are new to fur handling, we hope this video is a resource in the journey of becoming and independent and educated trapper!

Liked the short you did for the beaver taco recipe! Would really be interested in seeing more recipes. Watching your videos makes me wish trapping wasn’t almost over in my area as beaver ends march 31st. Tight chains my guy!

Nice job. I never tried using a knife for the tail. I might give it a try.
You should show the boarding next.
I noticed you do not have an inspection window.

The brightness is pretty bad. Hard to see what youre doing during the fleshing process. But i get it the jist of it. I just think the ISO could be alittle lower.

I noticed you said this beam is for beavers. Do you find a 6” beam is better “general” beam starting out if you can only have one?

Do you have an email address? How can I contact you to inquire about beaver skins?
