iIve owned one for the past 3 years and i love it! I've owned 3 clubsports so far, at first a DSG ED40 , sold it, bought another one, sold it and bought the Clubsport S :) (done 55.000 km with it so far)
69 HA numberplate 😎 Did you feel that this particular car was tram-lining on those countryroads a bit? I ask because at 6:32 where there's an exterior angle of the rear wheel, it looks as if there's quite a bit of negative camber (for an unmodified car out of the factory) - it could be intentional by VW for the 'Nurburgring' setup though...
Nice review but race mode wasn't set up for the Nurburgring if you got to individual and press reset that's the special mode, the dampers actually go into comfort:
Thanks! When the. new GTI TCR comes out I'll try and do a video. Getting hold of a Mk7.5 TCR will be tricky because VW won't have one on the press fleet. Did drive it a few years ago and loved it though
Given what VW has done to the MK8, I think the values of all MK7 GTI, especially this Clubsport S here, will increase/ depreciate at a slower rate. This Clubsport S is so well done while maintaining a nice and clean exterior
They were £31000 when new in 2016. Autotrader uk has a low milage one for £41000 in 2024, so thats better than the last 8 years of bank interest on the cash by a fair amount .
GTis are mean little cars. Best in their class, hands down..... not many cars are as fun to drive. Bought my 15' a year ago to the date. Le Petit Lapine Rouge🥰

It was a bit tram-liney, but I put that down to crappy roads more than the car.

Great review Tim. Love the Clubsport S and edition 40 models. Maybe you should follow it up with a Golf TCR review.

Would love one in the USA. An R in GTI clothing. Hot. Hot Hatch.
Sorry if you love Milton Keynes, I was possibly a bit harsh at the end
You think Milton Keynes is bad you should trying living in Luton. Milton Keynes is heaven.

Milton Keynes? That's payback for spending years swanning off to nice places on car launches
I miss my GTI. Had a 2011 and they've only gotten better.
Nice driving and what an awesome car!
Tim when are we getting a new DriveTribe podcast? Great video! Cheers from America.
In a week or two - I've been on holiday and I'm really, really busy (driving stuff) for the next week. Sorry - I'm a one-man band at the mo!
das is coput automoblie
pretty sure this still has the soundaktor
No clutch slip?
Hoon for sure. Would like to try one and compare to my TCR, expect the CSS to be impressive
I *love* the TCR. Had a very naughty drive on the press launch in Wales the other year. Superb thing
The Clubsport S is leagues better than the TCR. I bought a TCR to reduce the miles I was putting on my CLubsport S.
