Anders Mouridsen showing why you need to get a Sonuus Wahoo.
The Wahoo™ is a dual analogue filter stomp box where each filter can be configured as low-pass or band-pass and operate independently in wah pedal, envelope, LFO, and pitch-tracking modes. The warm-sounding fully analogue signal path is digitally controlled for precision, configurability and adaptability. Whether you want to recreate the character of vintage wah/filter pedals or break new sonic barriers, the Wahoo can do it for you.

I've just got this pedal today because my Vox V847 started sounding scratchy after I used it for only a few months. Now I have an almost infinitely adjustable wah with great analogue filters, auto-wah, step arpeggiator, and all sorts of other good things. And with proximity sensing in the pedal, there's no pot to get dusty...
It sounds amazing and I've only got halfway through the presets! Thanks for a great product.
Great - enjoy!
Just got mine. Fabulous pedal. Superb as a straight ahead wah for guitar. Really nice to play with, but the filters and other features make it amazing for all sorts. Intend using it on my synths as a complex filter that syncs to midi. Excellent!
Thank you! You did something right off the bat, that all the other reviews never did, which frustrated me so. You let me hear what it sounded like with some drive on it! It's nice to hear it clean but, I want to know what it sounds like for a loud overdriven guitar solo! Lol! And that nice little roll off of the high end was very nice, thank you.
Yes, the "arpeggiator" is a step filter. An LFO controls the filter, and the LFO can be stepped. Depending on how you set this, and what you play, the filters will pick out the notes you are playing in a pattern so it sounds much like an arpeggiator.
That's a pretty cool pedal, though I'd argue that the arpeggiator is more a step-filter than it is an arpeggiator.
I like to use the wah mostly as a treble booster, so I usually find an optimal location by ear and leave it there. Is that expression pedal stable at any given location within the range?
Also, is there a way to go down in the presets? Seems like when you press the button for preset change, the only way to reach a lower, previous memory bank is to go all the way up then finally cycle down.
Thanks
Yes, the pedal will hold stable in whatever position you leave it. Also, you can create a preset where the "hi" and "lo" filter parameters are the same so it doesn't depend on the pedal position, then you can get the tone your want every time regardless of the pedal position.
You can go up and down in the presets, and there are a few ways of configuring the pedal to select presets. In the default mode, you press and hold the footswitch to enter preset select mode, then "up" happens when the pedal is in the toe-down position, and "down" happens when the pedal is in the heel-down position (so the pedal acts as the direction, and the footswitch does the preset change).
can it double as a volume pedal? if so, I'm sold
+chris mcdermott It doesn't double as a volume pedal, but if you set it to low-pass filter mode with no resonance, you can a similar effect for fading sounds in and out. For true volume, we have the Voluum pedal which does everything you can imagine with volume including compression, tremolo and of course volume. Shiet this looks awesome. Can you assign the pitch function to the pedal?
Also could I use this to control wah's in Guitar Rig 5?
+DangerZone Pitch can't be assigned to the pedal. Pitch always detects what you are playing and uses the pitch of that (the note, or how much the note is bending) to control the filter. It can't change the pitch of what you play (it's an analogue filter, not a digital effect). It will send MIDI CC when you move the pedal, so you can definitely use it to control Wah's in any software that supports that -- such as Guitar Rig.
Why didn't they put midi ports on it like their volume?
Sooo very tempted to throw this in with a guitar I'm about to order from thomann haha. I'd like to have an all in one pedal that I can gig and use in the studio but I mainly record with guitar rig these days I'd love to be able to use the wahs and pitch expression FX that come with it, and I can't find any info online of anyone using this pedal for that. Is it just a matter of configuring it as a midi usb device in REAPER and getting guitar rig to recognise it?
Thanks
+Pauly Mack Guitar Sorry I missed your comment when it was posted. There's a lot you can do, and lot of ways to do them. What exactly do you want to try and do?
For MIDI, the filters can be controlled by MIDI - as you say, it will appear as a USB MIDI device and you can send the Wahoo MIDI controllers or notes.
+sonuusMusic No problem I bought it anyway and have been very happy with the sound, I havent even scratched the surface really. Bit disappointed it didn't come with a power supply for the price though. 500ma so I cant run it with a daisy chain or it kills my other pedals, so will have to get a multi power block. (if you could reccomend any I'd appreciate) I was going to get one anyway eventually so not a big deal.
Using it with guitar rig though it doesn't work as it should, when I route the midi signal to the expression part of the GR wah and move the sonuus pedal it jumps all over the place almost as if it's constantly sending 0's and 1's instead of a smooth 127 movement. Any ideas on what's causing this?
+Pauly Mack Guitar Most power supplies that can supply 350mA or up should be ok (the Wahoo only needs 500mA if the LEDs are set to max brightness). Ideally, use a power supply that isn't chained to other pedals -- you can get noise that way.
We couldn't include a power supply with the unit because it was too expensive. It was already difficult to get the price to where it is now :-)
sonuusMusic Ah thats fair enough. :) Yeah think I've found the right pedalboard powerblock so shouldnt be any more problems there, but what about the weird midi behaviour? Have you ever used it to control guitar rig wahs?
Oh also I don't know what my code is to register on the website so I can download the desktop editor...
Just seen this on Noel Gallagher's board 👌
Yes indeed!
damn.... this guy can play blues
Dang, too many pedals not enough time, Im plugging my guitar straight into my amp from now on! .. Ok I wont do that, fuck it.
