I'd probably stay here, but I doubt if I would get much sleep 😬 One of our most brutal sightings was a buffalo kill just a little way in from Phalaborwa Gate. Grass was all trampled and blood stained, it was a very recent kill, but there was only one lioness in sight and she was injured. I fear that poor buffalo put up one hell of a fight, and took a long time to die. Thanks for your wonderful videos.

@@leonbadenhorst Will definitely watch more videos. I have 'slept' a couple of times in the open bush when friends of ours were building on a sort of collective game farm. Once when my husband and I had a domestic issue because we had forgotten our tent, not recommended on a camping weekend, and I did not sleep a wink. Those weird bush breezes that get the grass rustling towards you, urk! Second time by a fire so I felt a bit safer, but woke up snuggled next to a heap of kudu Pooh! I enjoy being in the bush, but would say I'm 'camping challenged'. Still can't imagine living anywhere but Africa though, imagine just having (if you are lucky) one highly controlled, guide led, safari!
I’ve always wanted to sleep over at the hide but I’m too scared because I’m usually alone and have heard some scary stories of elephant encounters in particular
You have to do it at least once, you wont regret it! We didn't have any encounters with ellies the few times we have stayed there. They are always around but lucky for us stayed far away from the hide.
@@leonbadenhorst Yes if I find some company I will give it a shot. The Lethaba/Satara area is my favourite part of the park and I will actually be through Phalaborwa gate in 12 days time! I can't wait!

Sounds amazing! i'm quite sure every little sound might get you jumpy. Yes, one of those guided overnight walks sure looks amazing. One day!
