  • We spent KJ's birthday and Valentine's Day at an all inclusive resort in Mexico! How's that for a birthday present!?
    To our delight, our UA-cam-subscriber-turned-friend, Elie, flew all the way from London to join us!
    After a 10 hour delay and a couple extra layovers, we finally made it to the resort. The grounds were beautiful, the resort staff went above and beyond, and the food was good!
    But, that pool! So much fun playing and lounging!
    We also took a day trip to Chichen Itza, the Mayan Ruins about 2 hours away. We'll link that video once it's up!
    Be sure to subscribe and click the notification button for more about this trip coming soon, including: Ventus Resort, Chichen Itza, our Fish Spa Pedicures... and a new episode of Truly Remarkable Lives with our remarkable friend in this video, Elie! He changed his entire life and we have his story! Stay tuned!

    Why does the beach water look dark in all videos. Is it dirty

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  7 місяців тому +2

      Different tines of day & year at all oceans have different things bases on the tides. I think during the time of year we were there, there was alot of seaweed coming in. It was a few years ago...

    Is the beach rocky and is it safe for kids also can you recommend a nice beach in Puerto Moreles

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the comment. I recall the beaches were not rocky at the resort, but had a lot of seaweed. The employees raked the seaweed from the sand every day in wheel barrow. So, the beach itself is generally clean, however there are seaweed beds just offshore and that can make kids a little uneasy. We stayed mostly to the pool on the resort, which is so much more fun than the ocean was. The beach is mostly for those seeking quiet relaxation beneath a cabana or for sunbathing. The pool is massive and is basically a waterpark. I doubt most kids would even notice the beach once they've seen the water slide and nearly constant activities in the pool. LOL. The resort was so engaging and relaxing that we didnt venture out to find any other beaches in Puerto Morales.

    Hey guys great video. One of the best I have seen about el Cid. Couple questions if you don't mind.
    1- I have heard that the time share people are a nightmare upon checkin. Did you experience this?
    2- I know there is seaweed. But some.have said you literally cannot walk in the water without feeling it all around you at all times. Is it really THAT bad?

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  6 років тому

      Jeff, I am so sorry we just got the notification from UA-cam about this post.
      1. They weren't that bad on check in. But, I will say they were pretty relentless once you went to the presentation.
      2. They raked the seaweed every day from the beach. We didnt do any beach swimming as they have a gigantic pool that most people stayed in.

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  6 років тому

      I think a couple of day here would be great. We were there for a week and by the end of that time it felt like we had been there long enough - very well rested.

      Hey, Doug! Thanks for the comment. We had a blast at El Cid. We have a Caribbean cruise planned for May, and we're looking at Scotland for Fall... but haven't finalized plans. (Fingers crossed.). In addition, we have put out a subscriber meetup challenge that could result in another trip this year (See video: ua-cam.com/video/a6PWCUOL4sY/v-deo.html). We don't let much dust settle on us! :) HAHA

      How awesome!
      I was thinking of trying to squeeze in a short, budget, Carnival cruise May’ish.
      We did that last year, without luggage, only a small backpack as a personal item. It was quite simply gratifying to travel with such simplicity.
      Hey, what should I wear today? Hmm, I only have this one pair of shorts, guess I’ll wear that! :-)

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  6 років тому +1

      Doug Ales. Maybe we can wave to each other from our ships! Ha! Also...we are working on getting lighter as we travel. I want to get some of those travel shorts (poly-blend, wrinkle-free, quick-dry material). There is great freedom in simplicity!

    Was there a wristband to show your age? Or only to show that you belonged to that resort.

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  4 роки тому

      @moothecow Great question. Thanks for asking. I do recall different wristbands for different guests to signify levels of access. I know there was an age-based band for children (and they do have a children's center and teen area). I know the bartenders could tell instantly with the bands if a person was underage, but I dont have details on the exact type of band. There were also different colors to differentiate between the package levels and between the two resorts - as Ventus is next door and there is a lot of cross-over for the amenities. - I dont recall the exact designations - but it is a great addition for us to include going forward.

      Truly Remarkable Life alright thanks, I appreciate the response. Think my 17 3/4 will pass or are they pretty strict on it?

    • @TrulyRemarkableLife
      @TrulyRemarkableLife  4 роки тому

      @@moomooland19 Honestly I couldn't say for sure, but you have to provide the passports of every person in your party at check-in. Therefore, they most-likely base the wrist band designations off of that, and employees simply go by the band.

      @@moomooland19 How’d it go? Did he have a under 18 wrist band?

    • @Alexandersupertramp9875
      @Alexandersupertramp9875 3 роки тому

      Wristbands like he said grant access to certain areas. For example a platinum color band indicates platinum status and gives you access to a private section of the beach as well as ocean view rooms. I stayed 7 nights there in 2009. Unlimited alcoholic drinks, the pool is massive with a swim up bar. They have a great program for kids if you need a little adult time. When we were there they showed movies by the pool by projector on a white wall. They also offered video games etc… for the kids. You can book trips to Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Talum, Cancun, etc… Chitzen Itza is about 2-2 1/2hrs ride and is def worth the trip. They also offer swimming with Whale Sharks. It was about $400 at the time. I didn’t see it in the video but on past the rock dyke is a marina and a good bar there where we danced and partied till early morning. It’s really reasonably priced for all the amenities you get while there. They have a really good spa also.
