    Your mother is such a blessing to you. Never have I seen a woman who works as hard as she does. Gate and wall are looking great. Also it was nice seeing Jonathan again if only in snippets. Hope he's doing well.😊

    A summer in the French countryside with the scent of lavender in the evening and happy voices all around you, I guess it makes all the hard labour worth your effort. It's clear that you are all very caring people and somehow your sense of honesty shines through too. You have already achieved so much to protect the chateau. Obviously, your project means much more to you than just a faithful restoration, it's seems like a genuine rebirth. Bit by bit you are finding all the scattered pieces of history, eventually their purposes and significance will be revealed. Bonne chance.

      Fantastic job. You can turn your hand to anything you do there. Please take care with your decor - try not to make it to English as it will not suit the style of the French Chauteu.

    Honestly you are all brilliant! If you had just shown the wall finished I would have thought it had always been there. I would be surprised if you hadn't been approached by other people to give them lessons on how to repair their walls. What a hard working family you are and I take my sun hat off to you. Well done once again. It was lovely to see Johnathon helping out too. He is learning so much from you all. 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 ❤

    Your octagon stone and the other stone could have been foot pillars for bigger vertical timbers holding up a cross beam on the entrance to a barn etc.

    • @riocaz
      @riocaz Рік тому +9

      They definitely look like pillar bases.

    • @michaelmcclafferty3346
      @michaelmcclafferty3346 Рік тому +5

      In addition, the octagon stone suggests that it was used in a more prominent or visible location near the chateau.
      Granite is very difficult to cut and would be expensive even then. The other plainer stones suggest somewhere less visible.

A renovation channel that actually does renovations. Makes me so happy to see these older properties come back to life and the artistry involved not be lost to nature like so many others in France. Well done, and much respect!

    I am very curious how the iron fence that's damaged as though something ran into it , can be straightened out. I love rocks , so I love watching you and your mom , rebuild the tumbled down rock walls ! They look wonderful when they are finished. They are a sort of picture frame around the gorgeous main structure . I love the rockery ! The entire property is magnificent and would have crumbled into oblivion if your family had not had a great vision for restoration. Posterity salutes your dedication.

    It is a beautiful entrance and looks good now. You two are quite a team, Mom and son. The pin looks like the base of a vase of granite. Perhaps the two octagonal stones are underneath those. If you can rummage to the vineyards or antique store, you might find a couple of stunning vases to put on top, filled with flowering plants.

    I was thinking the same thing, those octagon stones would look nice in the walled garden with a statue on it.❤

    Wall is looking great. I'm hoping you filled all the voids well with mortar. The joints all look good from the outside. I know you had to mix a LOT of mortar for this project and I hope you didn't skimp anywhere. Best of luck with all the hard work you have ahead of you.

    I think the octagon pullers would look nice with big bowls on them with plants in them. I’m thinking the other one with something sticking out would look really nice with a really nice post on top with a light attached maybe at your gate entrance.
