    I've auditioned these Perlisten S7t, and their scale and dynamic extension is impressive. However their depth and height of their soundstage is somewhat flat. I consider them the high end Home Theater speakers, but not quite world class hi-fi speakers. It's midrange is it's weakness in my opinion. Thanks Jay.

    This room is in the HiEnd/$ also! Just a tough spot to be in, finding HiEnd Sound much less Ultra HiEnd for a Price Point
    that the common working man can afford! Without the middle class money the High Fidelity Industry defaults to Chinese mass production!

    The demo's in these rooms are horrible. Most if not all of these rooms play tonally, texturally, dynamically, and frequency limited music with 2 or three instruments. How can you tell how this system handles complex passages with 8,10, 20 or more instruments at a time? How can you tell how the system handle wide dynamic swings and varied tonalities? I've been to many a show where I've brought my own music. I'd let the people demo their simple music, then watch them as I played complex music and the system fall flat on its face in every aspect.

    Very nice for a hotel room! Edit: After listening to this track on Amazon MusicHD with my laptop and earbuds, maybe it's not as great as I originally thought. All the bass impact and extension is missing, and the clarity of instruments and voices is mostly gone. Maybe the hotel room was over damped.

    • @MasterMark5
      @MasterMark5 Рік тому +1

      Kind of unfair to compare a headphone/earbud that has a controlled room in/around your ear versus a speaker in a not so great room with basically no treatment and hard surfaces like the window to the right. If you put these in a well treated room with good positioning it should surpass the headphones in most departments. Also you are listening to a low quality youtube encoded audio file through Jay's microphone through your own speakers/headphones. Not to say Jay is using a poor microphone but youtube compresses the hell out of audio and video to save space

    • @marct9587
      @marct9587 Рік тому +1

      @@MasterMark5 Oh, I agree. But I'm always on the lookout for a speaker that best approaches that level of sound in my untreated room. I suspect my room may be somewhat on par with the hotel room in the video. It is our family room and room treatments would not be allowed. For my room, I may need a bit brighter speaker, as there is heavy carpet and window drapes, and a large sectional sofa.

    • @MasterMark5
      @MasterMark5 Рік тому

      @@marct9587 Yeah its sort of a give and take unless you in a position where you have a full sized room that you can do whatever you want to, most people have shared rooms often open to other parts of the house and it's just so hard to get the acoustics right. But youtube audio is very compressed and dynamically limited, the best way to hear a demo is to hear them in person, even if they sound great on UA-cam you could go hear them in person and you could hate the sound. But I'm glad Jay is doing these videos it's awesome for people who couldn't go or who plan to go to a show closer to them and want to know what it's like.

      @MasterMark As for UA-cam the deep bass of Jay's Magico S7s were very apparent. Phonograph records usually cut off below about 50 hz and the bass is monophonic because of cartridge tracking limitations. I haven't shopped or listened to what's out there in decades. I don't trust reviewers, audiophiles, or Atkinson's spliced measurements that don't include deep bass harmonic distortion. The only types I buy are acoustic suspension types practically all of which are vintage.
