This template is great. It is outstanding of Dirk to publish this.
It will help many who don't work professionally to get to the next level.
Thank you Dirk!!
Thank you so much mate, glad you enjoy it
Glad to see this out. You're welcome. ;)
Hi Dirk, May I ask about the sc limitation?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding it. But why should the triangle in _PercStem, for example, retract because it fires the Trumpet in _BrassStem at the same time? Thanks
Not sure I fully understand your question, but if you're referring to the principle of Sidechain compression, it means that each stem limiter is listening and reacting to the full mix instead of the individual signal passing through (which is just a part of the full mix) and therefore in the end allows the sum of the printed stems to be 100% equal to the stereo mix.
a good idea could be the implemenatascion of Track Archive function in Cubase . for Exempel if we have CSS seived as Track Archive we can easly load CSS with all settings and prerouted . Thet wey we resolve the libreries Problem . So nice tell me if im wrong XD
Great review , will definitely buy it
hey Dirk,
One question, how are the various instruments positioned in space in terms of panning and distance?
Most of the orchestral ones are in their natural seating, some panning settings are applied (for the solo strings for example in the 2nd demo). I mention in the video that for the majority I am using the tree mic position on libraries, which imho gives the most balanced sound in terms of depths and then I only change depending on the sound I'm going for (eg. drier/ more close mics for Dramedy etc)
Hey Dirk,
Since I'm still new to the music business and don't have much experience with mixing, the template would be a great learning platform to be able to understand individual mixing decisions. The only thing that stops me are the Slate plugins, which require a subscription. Would it perhaps be possible for you to replace these with alternatives such as Plugin Alliance plugins, which sell permanent licenses for the same models?
Hey, thanks for your interest. I totally understand the frustration with Plugins, I myself have both, Slate and Plugin Alliance. Besides the fact that Slate is also available on a permamnent license basis - plugindiscounts.com/brand/slate-digital/ , (although I strongly believe that the subscription is the monetary better deal) there's another reason why I'm using Slate - the way the MixRack is designed in my exoperience it is extremely lightweight on CPU - which does play a role when having it set up on 100+ tracks simultanously.
Overall I have to answer with no - I'm selling "my" template here, with the settings that have worked work for me for the past couple of years - this incliudes Slate. As a lst resort - you could just go with a single month of slate and in that time replace it with whatever you like to use. Cheers
@@Dirk_Ehlert Many thanks for the quick response. The fact that the MixRack is very lightweight on CPU is a strong point that I haven't yet taken into account. In the end, I guess I have no choice but to opt for the Slate subscription :D
I watched it from start to finish. It's a great pattern. Well, congratulations. I'm about to buy it. I have a few questions. I sent a message through the site. I would be very happy if you answer :)
FYI the (PDF) list of used Sample Libraries is the very same as the (PDF) list of used Plugins therefore that doesn't tell us which plugins are being used. Unless I am missing something I think this should be fixed on your website.
Thank you very much, fixed now.
grandioso Dirk nice stream
The price has already gone up ☹️
No it’s still on a few more days. Keep in mind that in European countries VAT might be added to the purchase price
@@Dirk_Ehlert Thx for your quick answer. Yep, seems to be the 20% VAT.
