    I always in joy your show , I learn quite a bit. I am almost 74. My beautiful wife died about 10 years ago. One hell of a loss, nothing quite like it, Saddest night of my life. My eyes are tearing up just thinking about it. Drafted back in 1965 on my 19 birthday, In Nam with the 1ST Air Cavalry 6 months later. My girl was the queen of her high school class, What a doll. She wrote to me every day, did I say every day. When I finally got home a high school buddy picked me up at the air port and gave me the news on our way back to my dads small dairy farm that the queen had been seen on the back of the kings motor cycle. Enough said about that. I had a rough time with it but i never tried to go back to that well. Went to college under the G I bill, but I never really felt like I fit in. The other students were smart but they did not seem to know any thing. I was trying to date girls quite a bit younger than me. I went thru a half a dozen before I realized I was wasting my time and the little money I had. I was born into a traditional protestant family. BUT in Nam I realized something was off. So I became an agnostic. But one night i decided to go up my Dads farm and spend Sunday evening with my folks. That night sleeping in my old bed room something came over me so I decided to talk to Jesus the way my mother taught me when I was a kid. I asked him to find me girl because I was coming up empty.. The very next Thursday night a guy I was living with asked me to go to a dance club in downtown Mpls. I told him I was headed for bed , Yet he persisted. Finally I said i would go with him. Under one condition that we leave at 11 o'clock. The place was called Duffy's bar and grill. The bar had a dance club in the basement. It was packed with girls because it was free drinks on Thursday night for the females. No shortage of young guys needless to say. I am sitting there not drinking or even thinking about dancing with anyone. As the night dragged on it was almost 11 o'clock and thru the smoke I had been watching this what appeared to be gorgeous female being approached by dozens of guys wanting to dance with her.She turned them all down. So by this time I was curious got up and gave her a much deserved complement and the the rest is history. That's my story and sticking to it. I have been a follower of Jesus Christ ever since ! ! ! :) :) :) BTW Do not talk to Jehovah's Witnesses and do not let your wife talk to them either. Nice people but they do not know what they are doing for the most part. They will destroy your life if you let them. They are an extreme mind control CULT ! ! ! That's been my lifes story so far ! ! ! Now I have decided to head to the Phillapeen's , look for a new girl (family law in the state encouages the ladies to divorce) And a new life :) :) :)

    I once was at a Book Presentation of a German Writer who comes from a noble family. His Grandfather, he said, would change into something more leisurely in the Evening.
    That leisurely piece of garment was: a Tuxedo Suit.
    Only 100 years ago all men wore Suits and Ties. The better off wore a Cutaway all day long. Hence the comfortable Tuxedo in the Evening.
    And with that, i'm finishing my Coffee. I drink about 5-6 Espressos a day on average. Can be 10 sometimes. Greetings from Vienna, Austria.

    “Who talks to you about that?” Scary truth is... no one. I talk to people at the level they can handle for as long as I can without dying of boredom. My own thoughts are for my own consumption. Trying to be understood by the distracted human population is beyond frustrating but I didn’t realise until now that I’d subtly given up on it. I don’t even try to be understood at my own level anymore. People have their own “stuff” going on which might involve putting baseball caps on their Labrador’s or binge watching “Come Dancing.” They are not interested in how they feel or what they’re actually achieving. It would be unkind to try to communicate truly & honestly with them for more than 8 seconds in any one day. They can’t cope. But then that leaves me & my needs unfulfilled. Hmmm. I’ll have to work out how to look after myself in this regard.

    Best thing for writing, to me, is to get a typewriter, word processor, or old laptop without WiFi. Remove distractions, and get used to letting your mind wander. Having an inspiring place to write always helps. This is how I wrote my first book, on a dare.

    • @JeffHendricks
      @JeffHendricks 4 роки тому +2

      @Anthony Jonas It's a young adult adventure novel. Kind of steampunk-ish, lots of action. It's titled "Seeking The Heavens" on Amazon, under my name. Did all the editing and formatting myself, too. It was my first try, I think it came out okay. Definitely could do more.

    • @JeffHendricks
      @JeffHendricks 4 роки тому +2

      @Anthony Jonas Thank you very much. I have a couple of ideas for more books, and I'm waiting for the right time to write them. A big part of doing something like that is overcoming the initial fears, and with the understanding that any first effort could be improved, it's a good learning process. But I know how to do it now, and how much time it requires (about 80-90 hours writing, and another 40+ editing and formatting).

    You hit the nail right on the head when describing guys raised by single moms. I recently stopped hanging out with a long time friend because he showed his true colors. Things were said and I thought to myself its like arguing with a woman.LOL! I was raised by my father and mother which were there through the ups and downs. My mother is still here and she too is awesome. My father has been gone for 17yrs now. May 5 2003 is when he lost his battle with cancer. Inspite of the fact that my father and I were at odds sometimes I can truly appreciate him dearly now. Looking at the big picture there's a method to the madness.

    It was always this way when I was younger:
    Go to school = Immersion in Western Washington liberal environment (not just in a political sense), with certain oasises of sensibility, rationality, reason and traditional values here and there...
    At home/at church = Immersion in conservatism, traditional values, reason, sensibility, etc., with occasional bits of liberal thought from certain folks here and there primarily at church.
    Thats how it was. And there was always, ALWAYS a clear divide in this regard.

    Hey another great video! I would say human qualities differ from male and female qualities primarily because they are supposed to be innate. EX: love your family, don’t murder innocent, need to survive, need to reproduce. Where as male and female qualities are a product of the individuals experiences and the environmental factors at play ( boys raised by his father) (woman raised by her mother).

    When it comes to human qualities, I dont think there are any qualities that are neither male or female. Take love for example; yes, it would appear to be neither male or female but how love is expressed varies greatly from men to women so that leads me to believe every human quality is gender specific.

    So true about the Machu Picchu comment. I've seen a ton of profiles with it. It just seems so forced.

    What do you think about people who can’t grow a beard? Just curious. I think I look like a child and I can’t grow one. I’m over it by now but just wondering what you think.

      @The Bald Bastard That's only a physiological reality for a short time. Think beyond that "base" reality to the entire night when your mind is in a "sleep/dream" state.
