Love that Spirit Lp especially Got A Line and Aren’t you glad. I always find Hawkwind consistently good. I saw Judie Tsuke in about 79/80. Lovely voice. A fair few faceless songs though. Love Hillage. Seen him live too. Om Riff is magnificent and is a gong song revisited. Palm trees is my favourite Hillage song. Gorgeous guitar. Got a couple of Strawbs Los. Not played them for years. Nice haul Rob. Cheers, Chris
Hi Rob, first off condolences on the passing of your friend - very nice of the fair to be dedicated to her memory. Excellent pickups from the fair this month. Can't go wrong with early Spirit. I was pretty disappointed with Astounding Sounds when it first came out, but it has grown a lot on me over the years, though I've always loved Steppenwolf. Even so I still consider it to be the weakest of their 70s output. Never owned Green unfortunately - as you said not one you ever see out in the wild. Hero & Heroine is an excellent album - I'd recommend the next album 'Ghosts' too. Planet Waves is an album that is very rarely discussed, but is one that I think is very underrated and should be more critically acclaimed. Cheers... Pete
Thanks Pete Yes, it was a nice gesture of the organisers to make that dedication. Green is a terrific Hillage album, even better to get it for £2.50!. In fact that 4 for a tenner deal was great, really chuffed there. Underrated is spot on with regard to Planet Waves, a real forgotten gem from that mid 70s period of Dylans' ..it was good to be reacquainted. We appear to concur on Astounding Sounds. Thanks for watching Pete. Take care.
Evening Rob (among the fireworks!) I think Spirit were unique in sound. Some great tunes on their early records. That Hawkwind album, which I also picked up recently, has some good individual tracks but I agree not up there with Quark Strangeness and Charm or PXR5. I wish Robert Calvert was still with us and making music... Don’t see many folk in the VC showing or speaking about The Strawbs. Definitely Prog by the time of Hero and Heroine. Bursting at the Seams is another good one from that mid 70s period. Take care, John.
Hey Rob, sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. A nice idea to dedicate the record fair to her. Nice Spirit album. I don’t think I’ve heard that one before. Always good to get a nice copy of Imagine… a brilliant album. Not heard that Strawbs album, bit always like their music. Happy listening, Jack
@@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf Thanks Jack The Spirit album is a great listen..grab yourself a copy, you definitely won't regret it. Really enjoying The Strawbs album, although Grave New World is still my favourite. Thanks for watching.
Hi Rob, I went to a fair last weekend and there was stacks of library kpm style albums which I'd not know where to start. It being London hipsters quite alot overpriced. I used to have some Steve Hillage System 7 stuff but culled it. Bit of a mistake really. Sorry about the loss is Moseley village then a particular vibe in Brum? Not sure I've heard of it outside maybe Jasper Carrot mentioning.
@@Thevinylscavenger Hi Martin Yes, Moseley is a cool suburb of Birmingham, it's very chilled with lots of cafes and pubs..my brother lives just down the road in Kings Heath but spends all his free time hanging out in the village.

Interesting haul, I was going to ask if it was Guy Fawkes Night.
Take care, be well.
