I can play all his stuff with two fingers, that’s what he does anyway. Practise, practise, practise. I’m also self taught like him and have loads of bad habits from a musicians standpoint but it makes my style.
the pick up on the bass are seymour duncan signature ? i have a fender precision and i would buy the harris signature to reach maiden's sound . can you say something about it? thanks and greetings from italy.

The right hand technique makes the Harris sound primarily. The pickup and wood etc. come second. For instance I bought a Squier Precision V worth 300€ and when I play, I get the same sound ! You can learn it from my tutorial here : ua-cam.com/video/_QlThRDePK8/v-deo.html Thanks a lot anyway ;)
I’ve always played the galloping part on this song (and most fast gallops) with 3 fingers. I started attempting 2 fingers on some of their songs and I pretty much got The Trooper nailed down as well as Sun And Steel and The Evil That Men Do. But this song almost seems actually impossible to play with 2 fingers, it’s just way too fast for me at the moment. I’ll stick to run to the hills for now as my practice with 2 fingers.

I confirm that it is really difficult to play. But practice is the key. The more you play, the faster you'll do. DG

I should make some vids... but I have zero recording skills. I have been playing these songs for 26 years. I dont have a sig bass. I ordered the first version when it came out but it sounded like crap with the fender strings. My ebm4 18V emg sounds more like steve than that bsss did. These newer signature basses look better.
It looks as though one of the ' notes ' in the group of three in the classic ' gallop ' is actually a percussive pop rather than a picked note. Am I correct ?
Where did you buy that Fender Steve Harris signature? I'm from Mexico so I would like to know in which website can I buy it, because any music store here had it.

I bought it from my local dealer but it has been discontinued unfortunately. The only way for you to buy one is second hand. But owners keep it and seldom sell it for it is a unique piece 😊

By including the F#. The best way for you to see precisely is to slow down the video in the parameters under the toothed wheel.
