@dabeinman I agree about George! as I have stated before. when one compares basses or lists greatest basses it usually starts out with, JD Sumner and George Younce. Jeff is great too. I have heard his stuff going back to 94 and he has improved so much in that time. I love his new song"Where's John" on the Kingdom Heirs new album
@biglhot75 No doubt about it! Jeff is a great bass and low one at that. He reminds me of a deeper version of Tim Riley. Would hope to get the chance to meet him some day!
@reverendtaxi2 There is a clip out there of Jeff almost hitting a double low C.Tim as great as he is can't get that low. A very reliable source puts Tim at the E below F1 at his lowest."Jesus Showed Up" is the name of the song tht Jeff gets really low on. I have heard over 70 Gold City recordings including concert recordings as well "The Dream" with Christian Davis and I can tell you, If time could get lower he would of by now. I myself prefer Tim and he is my favorite bass going today!
@thebassmanadam I also have heard their new labum. Where's John is amazing. Especially the ending. Love the whole song though. I just put up my second Jeff Chapman bass video and it has that on it.
Man, this guy is good. I'm a 15 year old bass singers and unfortunately I suffer from sinus issues that clog up and muffle my low notes. On a day where my voice is cleared up I can hit an Ab1 in full voice. On most mornings I can hit the F#1 that Jeff hits at the end of this video, also in full voice of coarse. I've just developed Tim Riley's method of "Breathing em' out" so I don't really strain my throat until at least a G1. I know it sounds a little bit far fetched that a 15 year old can hit these notes, but I swear I can really hit these notes, but only on a day when I don't have much drainage. What do I really have to gain by lying to people on the internet.
I agree with thebassmanadam. Jeff may be able to go lower, but Tim has an unreal power and resonance to his voice that Jeff doesn't. It is also true that many lists of great basses start with JD and George. Jeff is up there among the top ten or twenty. A great void will be left when we lose great singers like Jeff and Tim.
@russellbearbassman I have 67 recording by Gold City including the album with God's Building A Church and I can safely say Jeff is lower but Tim is better! Tim has unusual power quality to his voice and his notes are very resonant . I will agree a hundred percent there! Jeff can get the note that is a half step above double C as to where Tim can get down to E below F1. in any event, they are both low and good.

can u find that last song on UA-cam?
George Younce is better than both Tim and Jeff. No offense to either though. Jeff is my second favorite. There. Argument settled.
