Hi, the rider's weight is also an important data before and after the stage, and more important at the end of the tour. It work precisely as a control of what is consumed in each athlete. This works in such a way that what they lose during the stage they get back and ready for the next stage. Above all, don't exceed the calories, obviously they have their chefs and nutritionists on the bus.

Hi guys, amazing content, as always. What I would really like discussed is, the average diet on season versus off season, the diet in between big tours versus small tours, and everything in between. All I remember from my very brief experience, is going from consuming ridiculous amounts of food, to eating next to nothing, and then going straight back to eating ridiculous amounts of food. Imagine if Christian Bale was a pro cyclist with a new movie role every day, that was what I imagine.

When I was riding as food courier(4hrs work), I can easily eat more than those portions. 50kg 1.65m. Intestinal worms...maybe?

I was full just looking at that breakfast!! I can't fathom eating that much in a day of racing! I still race Triathlon, Crits, TT's and Trail running races, and don't eat half the amount of food the Pro's eat at the Tour.

I think they are in far better shape than you and have lower body fat percentage so they need this fuel. Try doing 15 days of their distance and come tell us how much you eat.

@08:28 the Conor looking for Nigel scene should have been scripted like the classic "Fenton! FENTONNN!" - "I want my massage! Nigel! NIGELLL!"

For many years, I did 8 to 10k calories every day for any reason, throughout Cross Country season, and 4 to 6 k during Track. My first century day on the bike was far more calories. 6k calories really isn't all that much.

How did Hank not get this challenge? He does all the on-bike stuff and doesn't get the eating one? Maybe Conor was the only able presenter. I'd imagine it takes more to fuel a 2,04m cyclist!

What about the timing of breakfast? How many hours before "hard" effort would you want to eat a meal like that?
