My great aunt used to watch people like Peter Popoff and Benny Hinn on her TV and I remember seeing ads from them recently. She passed away a couple years ago so I’m sure those ads and reruns of their shows are still up and running.
Well seeing how brainworms have literally infested this country alongside the so called pandemic it's no surprise. Fear and ignorance can make us do some real dumb shit.
A lot of those people in the crowd feel like they have nothing else to turn to. Often times these are broke, lost, grieving people who can't get the proper help they need, so they turn to anything. These 'priests' are taking advantage of people's hope, and that's disgusting.

I'm a Christian, I believe God can and will heal if he wants, but it's just dumb to ignore all of our resources to treat our illnesses. Especially when you consider that, from a Christian perspective, God has made the wonderful world of medicine possible. It's just sad.
I’m a Christian myself yet I believe in action. Prayer CAN bring emotional and spiritual relief and comfort, but it won’t miraculously cause physical healing by itself. Once in an extremely blue moon, miracles DO happen, but not usually without action.

As a child, my mother was struggling with money issues and we were close to losing our home. I had seen this infomercial, I was so desperate to help her so I reached out to Peter Popoff. After I sent a letter back, they started asking for money over and over so they can pray for us.

I prayed multiple times a day- up to 10 at times, every day for 3 months of summer vacation. I wanted to be exempt from gym class the next year (I was Daria. I never understood any sport really, and I was a skinny, pale outcast that was harassed constantly.) My mother even talked to the school board.
God didn't answer my prayers, and once again I was forced to take gym and get beat on and bullied.
God came through finally. He gave me an incurable and extremely painful disorder that wrote me a sure ticket out of gym class.
Only by then, I was 18 and didn't HAVE gym class anymore. Just dreams of the future and all the great things I planned to do, like join the Peace Corps. (I got in. But never got to serve, because of that little disorder thing, ya know.)
Now I'm an athiest.
Even though this clown was exposed years ago, they still sent money to him. I sometimes think there are people out here that just want to be tricked.

I am in the UK and in 2009, my friend's father was very ill. His one kidney had packed up and the one left was barely functioning. His doctor's in Scotland gave him days to love. My friend wrote to him for prayer of healing and he told her to send £20. She did and he sent back a letter with coloured leaves printed she had to cut out and asked her £35. She didn't and he wrote another letter telling her her father was healed and asking for more money when her father had died a month or two before. She had a good laugh and saw Peter Poppof for who he really is.
