Sorry Everyone for the delay in getting this out!! If you saw our community post you'll know that UA-cam was being extra strict on this one. We split the video into 2 and luckily only had to add a couple of extra edits on Part TWO. But, let's focus on the positive - THIS VIDEO!! We feel like there's a whole other rabbit hole waiting to happen 😅 PART TWO: ua-cam.com/video/NeT40V64OSA/v-deo.html
BTS' "BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS" MV EXPLANATION: (My perspective) There's a lot of symbolism in this music videos that are related to their long story line that runs through their series of music videos and short films. This MV is inspired by the book "DEMIAN" by Herman Hesse. The book is about Emil Sinclair, a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion". Emil's entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. In the course of the novel, accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate 'Max Demian', he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self. (In the music video, RM's narrating a quote from that book.) Jin is playing the character of Sinclair and V as (Demian) a fallen angel that's why his wings were cut off. And all 7 members are portraying the 7 deadly sins. The scene where Jin kisses the fallen angel is a metaphor of loosing your innocence by falling into evil deeds. (V and Jin cannot kiss so they used a statue instead.) After that kiss scene, you'll notice how everything crashes and the members are acting or dancing in a more sensual way and Jin's cracking face, which meant that their innocence were gone. (They explained that the WINGS ALBUM was about encountering temptations and BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS is a sexy song of sorrow.) BTS have this fictional world that we call BTS' UNIVERSE: THE FICTIONAL WORLD OF BANGTAN. They have this story line that runs through their series of music videos, short films and highlight reels. This story line started from their MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT IN LIFE ALBUM (HYYH) to their WINGS ALBUM until their LOVE YOURSELF (HER, TEAR, WONDER & ANSWER) ALBUM SERIES. Everything is connected to the story, that's the reason why there are a lot of symbolism in each of their songs, MVs, choreographies, live performances, external notes, etc. (for eample: In the FAKE LOVE MV, what connects J-hope to the Snickers bar and the amusement park, Jimin and the water, Suga and the fire, RM and the mirror, V and the cellphone, Jin and the flower and on the teaser the objects that they trade and what they trade it for, etc.). There's a DEEPER meaning to everything, I mean literally DEEPER than what you think. There is so much more to discover about BTS, not just their musicality, artistry, talent, lyrics, etc. The whole cinematic universe(fiction) they got going on is another layer that adds so much into their crafts. BTS' Music videos and films that was included in the story line (IN ORDER - according to date posted): -I NEED U (19+ original version) -On stage: PROLOGUE -RUN -Young Forever: EPILOGUE -WINGS 7 SHORT FILMS *BEGIN - Jungkook *LIE - Jimin *STIGMA - V *FIRST LOVE - Suga *REFLECTION - RM *MAMA - J-hope *AWAKE - Jin -BOY MEETS EVIL -BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS -HIGHLIGHT REEL -PINK NOTES FROM LOVEYOURSELF HER ALBUM (read) -NOTES FROM LOVEYOURSELF TEAR ALBUM (read) -LOVE YOURSELF HER: Serendipity -LOVE YOURSELF WONDER: Euphoria -LOVE YOURSELF TEAR: Singularity -FAKE LOVE OFFICIAL TEASER 1 and 2 -FAKE LOVE -Extended version of FAKE LOVE -NOTES FROM LOVEYOURSELF ANSWER ALBUM (read) -LOVE YOURSELF ANSWER: Epiphany -And also the JAPANESE VERSION MVS Many ARMYs also add FILM OUT in BU but that isn't official !! *The symbolism started from their FIRST debut song on 2013, but the story line series started from the NEED U(19+ original version). I think that this story line was already planned ever since their debut. PS: I wrote this comment yesterday for this video😂💜
Just wanna add that the storyline actually continued into the Map of the Soul series as well. It just wasn’t necessarily blatant in the MVs. Those albums also included the “Notes” which continued the storyline from Epiphany on (where Jin first mentions seeking the Map of the Soul).
(last comment I promise 😂) FUN FACT: I Need U was my first BTS song/MV, so the original version + the storyline prologue were my first mini comebacks Talk abt a whirlwind intro to BTS 😂
What you’re expressing about songwriting via keeping a notebook/journal is exactly what SUGA has done, writing some 200-300 songs per year at their heyday. Getting inspo from everyday life and jotting down lyrics as they come to him. Totally inspired me to do the same with my notebook. I love how they make their process accessible and relatable which inspires us all to create more art (if we want to) 💜
This video is a masterpiece and one of the most iconic mv ever. This is the song that i become an army after seeing Jimin dancing ( Jimin effect) now I am an ot7 i love all of them. So many things happen in this mv
I can't believe it's been 6 years since WINGS era, this era is unbeatable. It's fitting that the set is in a museum, because it is and forever will be a piece of art💜 BST was the showstopper of their album WINGS, which earned them their first all kill topping EIGHT music charts in South Korea. 2016 was also a meaningful year to BTS and Army because they won Artist Of The Year in MAMA for the first time. After BST, they were UNSTOPPABLE!🥹💜 Look how far they've gone throughout the years😭🫶🏻
Dark & Wild is the best era for me, their music was so different from what other Kpop groups were putting out. Rap Line were really going off too, but Wings era is very important number wise and there's a lot of great music from that time.
Blood, sweat, and tears MV is truly a masterpiece!✨️ All members are amazing but Jimin is the one that captured my heart. ❤️🔥 His MV openings are mesmerizing!😍 BST, is the ICON of BTS mvs, pure art!
FYI guys, Suga also always carries a journal with him in which he writes anything which inspires him or any idea he gets in his day-to-day life which he uses when he writes their songs!!
My favourite music video and choreo ever!!! So iconic and silver haired Jimin is my fav Jimin look. So many iconic things in this. This video is just art
They made it as close to real life situations in their dorm as they possibly could, like kicking JK off J-HOPE & Jimin's room so he could sleep on his own bed, RM's bed decked out with Ryan plushies, Jin and SUGA being bickering roommates...
@@luanavieira678 during bts 2017 festa jin said that jimin wrote part of the melody for blood sweat and tears. Stay pressed jimin will always make you jealous you losers
Ohh this song's choreography is awesome! It's one of my personal favorites of their choreos, very complicated yet they're all so in sync and the footworks is just so cool. I recommend you watching the dance practice!
Blood sweat and tears Park Jimin was an life changing event. His intro and voice brought so many armys to the fandom. This jimin and his intro is iconic. BST will always be superior. Wings era was such an iconic time.
This is when righteously rebellious youths came back with smoking lethal come-hither looks. All of them. But Jimin especially. His persona shifted during this era.
some trivia about cinematagraphy for u guys 👀: • RM reads a paragraph of "Demian" by Herman Hesse at in the music video. And at the very beginning, RM is shown reading "Demian" by Herman Hesse. • At the beginning of the video, Jin looks at a painting titled The Fall of the Rebel Angels by Pieter Bruegel. • When Jungkook is dangling on the swing in the MV, the painting behind him is called The Lament of Icarus by Herbert James Draper. • In J-Hope' solo scene in the MV, he is standing behind Michelangelo’s Pieta. • When V is sitting on the ledge of the balcony in the MV, in front of him is the painting Landscape with the Fall of Icarus, also by Bruegel. • Tha table part: Apples are a sign of temptation and sin (apples are also mentioned in Demian). And on each plate, we see that each member has a chalice and an apple. All these things right in front of them are “tempting” them to sin.
Also this was the song when JHope became one of my bias wreckers i mean just look at the way he dances letting the emotion take him over and also his legs omg they are long. Also this era is my fav look on Jimin as I also love e the smokey silver fox hair. Also there are lots of biblical references and the bit that rm says in english is a reference from the book Demien.
its okay to not dive too deep into the BU bc I've been an ARMY for almost 6 years but I still dk the whole concept of BU, i just think I'm too dumb for it so I'm just here going with the flow 😂
yeah honestly it’s a lot. im a bst era army it’s been 6 years for me too but i never dived too deep into the BU because it gets so complicated and warped. i did follow along at first but by euphoria i was like aight im out ✌️ haha
BU is what hook me up to BTS in 2015!!! That era was a trip... now everything is out there, but at the time it was a puzzle and they were giving us the pieces one by one... the waiting!!! It blew my mind and I loved every bit of it hahahahah!
About songwriting: I think SUGA keeps a journal where he writes anything that comes to mind or he experiences every day, then he decides what it’s best for which song. RM said that he prefers to have a keyword to write songs around. Jhope said that he takes inspiration from his daily life. There are videos and articles made by armys that analyze how different their style of writing lyrics are from each other. It’s really fascinating
Okay, so this is gonna be a long comment so bear with me! “Blood Sweat & Tears” is the title track of one of their albums called “WINGS” (2016). This particular song and entire album uses a plethora of references that link to one book: “Demian” by german writer Hermann Hesse. This book tells the story of a young boy named Emil Sinclair and his childhood growing up during pre-World War I. He struggles to find his new self-knowledge in the immoral world and is caught between good and evil. Already we have some clues as to what this song/MV is about: the battle between good and evil and temptation. The video opens up with the members in a museum; notice how Jin, the oldest, stands alone. He is gazing at the painting called “The Fall of the Rebel Angels” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. (good angels fighting Lucifer/evil angels fallen from Heaven). He is about to beggin his journey towards finding his true self and identity. On the left&right, there is a white and a black door, which represent the paths Jin can go on: the good side and the evil side. Now, If you notice, Jungkook is the one on the swing, and behind him is the painting called “The Lament for Icarus” by Herbert James Draper. Jungkook is representing Icarus troughout the whole video. (V also represents Icarus but in a different form). The swing could represent Icarus being safe, the Icarus following orders (he is supported by a swing). Later we see a drop of wax dripping on JK’s finger (14:13) which he then puts in his mouth (temptation). This is a representation of the fall of Icarus and foreshadows what will happen to him later in the video. The painting in the back also foreshadows his death. (more about this below) V is the one falling from the balcony, representing Icarus but also a fallen angel (this scene can also symbolize the fall of Lucifer: he rebelled against God and fell from grace, tempting more angels to do so in the process, thus connecting to the painting at the beggining “The Fall of the Rebel Angels”, maybe this is why he smirks after he falls down the balcony). Behind him we see the painting “Landscape with the Fall of Icarus” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. This scene represents the death of Icarus (he ignored his father’s warning about flying too close to the sun, until the wax that kept his wings attached to his body melted…and he falls to his death-again we have the theme of temptation-Icarus falling to temptation). But…later (part 2) we see Jungkook again, but this time he is floating. He in this scene is dead, and him floating represents how Icarus started “floating” in the water after he drowned, connecting V’s and JK’s scenes. We also see feathers floating around and on the floor as well (being underwater). So the whole Icarus imagery in this MV comes in like this: stage 1: We see JK on the swing, Icarus being alive; stage 2: V/Icarus falls off the balcony; stage 3: The painting in the background (“Landscape with the Fall of Icarus”) foreshadows JK/Icarus when he is floating/drowned (him being dead/underwater); stage 3: the painting behind JK (“The Lament for Icarus”) foreshadows V/Icarus having no wings on anymore which is the final stage. Now, the kissing scene. (BTW, RM is reading a paragraph from “Demian” (part 2), if you didn’t read the book, you will not get it sadly) During the interlude of the MV, all the members run towards the exit except for Jin and V. If you notice, Jin has a very confused and scared look on his face while V blindfolds him. After that a white statue with black wings appears: this statue represents the god Abraxas-the deity is a representation of good and evil, it is not good or evil, it is both (good and evil into the same word). After that, Jin walks closer to it, takes a look at it then kisses it. This scene represents how Jin has finally embraced both good and evil into himself (by kissing Abraxas), thus destroying the world of innocence he has lived in prior to this. We then see V with his wings cut off, giving a smile to the camera (him smiling could symbolize that Jin’s growth is complete, and he finally accepted chaos into himself which leads to self betterment-theory of Carl Jung: accepting your shadow). Again, Icarus but also a fallen angel. So this whole MV is revolving around Jin most of the time, he is the main protagonist of this MV (and the BU) (his path to adulthood, maturity and acceptance of an evil realm). The quote above the mirror is written in German (belonging to philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche) and translates as: You need to have chaos in yourself in order to give birth to a dancing star” basically meaning that if you don’t accept chaos (evil) into yourself, you will not be able to grow to your full potential. At the end of the MV we see the old version of Jin, the one that was pure and innocent cracking, there is no chaos in him and so he cannot give birth to the dancing star. There is so much I didn’t say here, you’ll have to watch the explanation on UA-cam to trully understand how everything connects because trust me, this whole thing is cohesive and connects, I just told you the main things of this MV but not specifically how everything connects!
Blood sweat and tears was the song that made me ARMY until now. I was so captivated by JIMIN, he's still my ultimate bias. But I love OT7. This song has special place in my heart, nothing can replace it. 💜💜💜
actally they have their own big universe and when i got to know about it i watched the explanation video that made me cry and after that i watched all the mv in order from first again and this universe is still going on .....i was beyond shock when i was entering the fandom didnt knew what huge i have signed into everytime they surprise us with something new .......
the mv connects to the BU however the Japanese version is a lot more saturated in terms of the BU, like it's a BU mv point blank including their personas of the universe and scences completing it, not through symbolism. in general, in that era their Japanese versions of the mvs complete/emphasize the BU alongside the korean. besides that, this mv contains many artistic details that's not connected to the Bu but helps to convey the message and the lyrics at the same time!! i'm an architect and i tried to replicate the sets and i studied the set of blood sweat and tears, and let me tell you every painting has a meaning, every contrast either in colour or placement has a meaning, every statue has a meaning it's really fascinating and i respect the masterminds that continue blowing me over when they continue adding layers that never once lacked or dis-serviced the previous 😍 that's in my opinion why BTS has a very large diverse fandom following because they are masters in various different aspects, like i've learned so much from their content and got inspired so much in my field of work. the video editing, the lyrics, the choreography, the fashion, the set design, the music composition and production!! i've seen every mv of theirs dissected in every aspect possible by professionals of different fields and they are as mind blowing and impressive in each one💜💜💜 PS. there is books, webtoons (online comic series) AND games that are extensions to the BU😂 and let me tell that that thing is complicated and detailed and mind boggling af😂 i swear i had time studying organic chem and engineering than fully comprehending all the details😂😂😂 welcome to the fandom😂
oh, yes! the japanese mvs really showcases a lot of things about BU. japanese mvs are really underrated, but they are very very well made and each shot is amazing.
I just recently quoted one of the msg from BS&T in my grp presentation of Personality Development n it got really good response 😁 The quote was- "we must embrace both the evil n good or else the chaos shall follow".
this song has so much symbolism especially in he mv . check out the explanation video by xceleste . she also has a detailed explanation of the BU that includes the books , highlight reels, mvs and the game . this song deserves a whole separate fandom because of the layers and symbolism it has.
It took me two years to officially dive into the BU after becoming an army and so I watch all the music videos in order and then I read both books and revisit the webtoon and even played the series that was on bts episode game and out of all that I can say if you want the full story of the BU read the two books because that will Get you through the whole hyyh series part and show the connection of the music videos to the love yourself music videos and it explain everything or you can just watch the music videos in order and try to figure out that way (which is very difficult cause it’s a lot babes😂)but if you want the full story I recommend the books
Can you tell me something about BU like in order MVs and names of books games and all content related to it M two years old army but i don't try to understand BU coz take a lot of time nd complicated for me...but now after two and seeing army's comments and all it seems interesting to know about it and more connect with BTS...pls tell me when you get time to reply I'll thankful for you and also tell did you understand everything about it 🙏🥰💜
this mv is such a masterpiece, not just because of the B.U but fitting in the whole concept of the song and the album and the book Damien, i mean everything just matches so perfectly. And not only the whole symbolism and conceptual stuff but the visuals itself, the choreography, it’s just perfect. It has another mv with the japaness version of the song and you should check it, just as good as this one.
This is the song, and music video, that really got me into BTS. I had started with “Boy With Luv” then “Idol” and “Mic Drop” which were all fantastic, but this song was just on another level.🔥🔥
BST mv is literally the interpretation in Jin's mind while he watch the painting. WING is one of their turning point moment with the whole concept era(previous era used school concept, Papillon, Butterfly effects, Lost Boy, Peterpan) based on Demian by Herman Hesse. For music persepective, it was the first time I guess they are trying new genre. Moombahton trap was use for this song.
About the BU, yes there are books that THEY release themselves and also there are videogames & webtoons. Also highlight reels, notes... And yeah, is too much but it's also SO FUN
A few famous artists, especially rappers, mention that the best lyrics comes from an actual discussion they had. Real discussion draw on personal experience, knowledge you had, stories you heard, historical context, and psychology. This way the song is able to draw from material. Just like how the Map of the Soul was actually pulled from Jung's Map of the Soul book. Carl Jung's theories created for psychology. BTS have those healthy relationships where they do talk about concepts and are able to grow individually to grow as a group.
Daniel: Just give us two seconds here 'cause this is something we'll discuss [later]. Also Daniel, et al: [4 minutes of discussion before diving into the MV.]
OMG just get the list of the mv's, in order, with the first which is "I Need You". Together with "The Notes" (diary/journal entries of each member) and then the 7 "Short Films"(one for each member in the BU) and then more notes and then "The Highlight Reels". It's long but will surprise you and if you like intrigue and mystery, there you go. It's just delicious. I think you will love it and love BTS so much more.
You know what's really cool? Being a "late" BTS fan, watching the major music videos, then tying them together with a storyline explanation video. 😉💜 It will make sense so much more after you've seen it all
BST got me into BTS for the 1st time. And also got me being Jimin bias instantly. So it's one of the most special song for me. As now I'm an Army for 7 year since wings era.💜💜💜
Yes please make more longer videos of you guys talking about BTS or random stuffs, it's so fun to watch. I don't even skip your intros, it's so entertaining plus the editor is great! It makes it even funnier 😁 I'm a silent viewer, i don't usually comment so yeah just wanted to say this since you guys are starting to become my favorite reactors of BTS! And I hope you guys dive into the BU once you're all ready! I won't give the details since some ARMYs will provide it 🤣 but know that I'll be waiting for any BTS reaction you got 😁👍💜💜
There's actually a comic/webtoon about the universe lol. Bighit wanted to go beyond just a music company and wanted to release different types of media to expand the experience. So books, games, comics, drama, music. It's everywhere
Yay I been waiting I been refreshing my UA-cam since 9😂💜💜💜BS&T one of the many songs that made me fall in love with BTS💜thank you for the videos they always make my day so glad y’all enjoyed the song I knew you would🤭
Este MV hizo que me interesara más en ellos. La historia detrás de este video/canción es más profunda y algo oscura, es de mis favoritas, gracias por reaccionar
Okay my first experience with the BU was definitely overwhelming. I watched all MVs in order (there’s a playlist on youtube) and i sat in front of the tv with a notebook in hand and took down notes. It’s really profound and i had so much fun learning about all of it but at the end of the day, I’m still confused 😂
GUYS DO WATCH THE DANCE PRACTICE! As beaaauuutiful as the MV is, it doesn't capture most of the choreography, and you need to experience just how satisfying it is to watch the dance practice
You guys should also check out the MV behinds from their Bangtan bomb episodes. You will get to see how they filmed their videos and ITS REALLY COOL to see that they didn't use too much CGI!! 💜💜
BST was the big break of BTS,this is the era where they finally started getting recognition for their work, started getting awards and went on world tour, there was no going back after this
The body suspended in the last shot is Jungkook. The choreo for this song is amazing.....you really should watch them perform it. Also they did a video filming their own reaction to this video once it was complete....really shows their personalities, really made me fall in love with all of them 🙂
I became an Army in BS&T era! I listened to kpop before and I was a stan of a different group, I didn't get the hype with bts but when I heard BS&T it was stuck in my head for about a week until I finally gave in and checked them out! Since then I never got out of this fandom, and I do not regret. edit: It was actually Jimin's bday that I became an Army, and he's my bias.
If you want to see how they filmed this, watch the Fake Love MV Shooting Sketch. BTS builds all their sets and rarely uses CGI. All of the big MVs have a behind the scenes shooting sketch where you can see these sets
It was Jungkook hanging from the swing. This video is iconic!! There is also a Bangtan Bomb of the behind the scenes of the video. You should check it out.
I know someone in the comments has probably already mentioned it but "On" music video is not part of the BU 😊 it was just a stunning music video. Also, the BU is very very complicated but very fun as well trying to decypher 😉 Borahae 💜
I seriously love to see your reactions please don't ever change💜💜 I love the honest point of view and the way you all pay attention to every different part
BTS’s art is theirs. RM and Suga in particular have minds that are exponentially deeper than most folks. Of course, they have a team behind them but to wonder if they understand the meaning behind their own songs or the reason why the venue or numerous symbolisms are chosen for the video is undermining their artistry. This is why BTS is BTS and one of the many reasons why they can never be replaced. I know Daniel’s comment was merely out of curiosity but this is the reason why you should at least watch the explanation videos. If you get to know the boys better, know what they read and consume for self growth, see their development of of self awareness, you would understand that no doubt all their songs, stemmed from their amazing mind and their amazing talent of conveying these experiences in beautiful forms of music and art to deliver the same experience to their fans. And once you do delve just a little bit deeper, then you would appreciate why so many army say BTS changed their lives. It’s more than the melodies and the instruments used to make those melodies so I hope you will give give it a chance to help you understand and appreciate what BTS’ art truly means.

Just here to compliment the preparedness of this comment, and writing it ahead of time 😂👏🏾
Just wanna add that the storyline actually continued into the Map of the Soul series as well. It just wasn’t necessarily blatant in the MVs. Those albums also included the “Notes” which continued the storyline from Epiphany on (where Jin first mentions seeking the Map of the Soul).

I clicked faster than Jin's rap.

*THIS ERA WHEN JIMIN COLLECT MEN AND WOMAN LEFT AND RIGHT*
#JIMINEFFECT
The boys parodied this MV right in their dorm. I promise you, you'd be in stitches watching it.
Link, please. 🙏🙏
It was hysterical.
Yes! Highly recommend this! It was hilarious! 😂🤣
Fr🤣
They made it as close to real life situations in their dorm as they possibly could, like kicking JK off J-HOPE & Jimin's room so he could sleep on his own bed, RM's bed decked out with Ryan plushies, Jin and SUGA being bickering roommates...
This is the time many people got obsessed about jimins intro .. like I can relate bruh 💜💜💜
JIMIN WROTE THE MELODY FOR THE MASTERPIECE THAT IS BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS. A MUSIC GENIUS, INDEED.
Ikr🥺
As he shoulddd
he didnt
@@luanavieira678 he did
@@luanavieira678 during bts 2017 festa jin said that jimin wrote part of the melody for blood sweat and tears. Stay pressed jimin will always make you jealous you losers
I would argue this IS one of "the big ones", as you say. I know many that have this as their favourite song. Blood, Sweat and Tears is special.
Ohh this song's choreography is awesome! It's one of my personal favorites of their choreos, very complicated yet they're all so in sync and the footworks is just so cool. I recommend you watching the dance practice!
The Synchrony 😵
This was the first BTS mv I've watched in 2018 and I immediately fell in love with Jimin
Same I watched Idol in 2018 and saw Jimin and immediately fell in love, its been 5 years now and he's still my bias in all of kpop💜💜
His persona shifted during this era.
some trivia about cinematagraphy for u guys 👀:
• RM reads a paragraph of "Demian" by Herman Hesse at in the music video.
If you want it easy you can watch the explanations vdo by the yt channel xceleste they have one full vdo on the whole story
yeah honestly it’s a lot. im a bst era army it’s been 6 years for me too but i never dived too deep into the BU because it gets so complicated and warped. i did follow along at first but by euphoria i was like aight im out ✌️ haha
@@doraaaa0613 hahaha me too ... Its just complicated for me 🏃♂️😂
Same here, been an ARMY for 5 years and I still don't really get it😆😆
the webtoon and the notes (1 & 2) really helped me a lot in understanding the BU.
Jimin’s eyes are covered in his solo song ’Lie’ too which is from the same album of the Wings era
bts this was a cultural reset when it came out. so iconic
It’s really fascinating
this is jimin's best era! His intro and visuals here is no joke!💯💯
Blood sweat and tears is not only a song. It's an Art itself. A masterpiece 💖✨
(more about this below)
V is the one falling from the balcony, representing Icarus but also a fallen angel (this scene can also symbolize the fall of Lucifer: he rebelled against God and fell from grace, tempting more angels to do so in the process, thus connecting to the painting at the beggining “The Fall of the Rebel Angels”, maybe this is why he smirks after he falls down the balcony).
Yes! The exact explanation!

Y’all should check out their dance practices after you watch the MV’s.
Park Jimin writes the melody of this song
the mv connects to the BU however the Japanese version is a lot more saturated in terms of the BU, like it's a BU mv point blank including their personas of the universe and scences completing it, not through symbolism. in general, in that era their Japanese versions of the mvs complete/emphasize the BU alongside the korean.
besides that, this mv contains many artistic details that's not connected to the Bu but helps to convey the message and the lyrics at the same time!! i'm an architect and i tried to replicate the sets and i studied the set of blood sweat and tears, and let me tell you every painting has a meaning, every contrast either in colour or placement has a meaning, every statue has a meaning it's really fascinating and i respect the masterminds that continue blowing me over when they continue adding layers that never once lacked or dis-serviced the previous 😍
that's in my opinion why BTS has a very large diverse fandom following because they are masters in various different aspects, like i've learned so much from their content and got inspired so much in my field of work. the video editing, the lyrics, the choreography, the fashion, the set design, the music composition and production!! i've seen every mv of theirs dissected in every aspect possible by professionals of different fields and they are as mind blowing and impressive in each one💜💜💜
PS. there is books, webtoons (online comic series) AND games that are extensions to the BU😂
and let me tell that that thing is complicated and detailed and mind boggling af😂
i swear i had time studying organic chem and engineering than fully comprehending all the details😂😂😂
welcome to the fandom😂
oh, yes! the japanese mvs really showcases a lot of things about BU. japanese mvs are really underrated, but they are very very well made and each shot is amazing.
I just recently quoted one of the msg from BS&T in my grp presentation of Personality Development n it got really good response 😁
The quote was- "we must embrace both the evil n good or else the chaos shall follow".
this song has so much symbolism especially in he mv . check out the explanation video by xceleste . she also has a detailed explanation of the BU that includes the books , highlight reels, mvs and the game . this song deserves a whole separate fandom because of the layers and symbolism it has.
Blood Sweat and Tears deserve a book written on it, for it's literally and symbolic nuances. A MASTERPIECE
This one is my first BTS song and what made me an ARMY 💜💜💜
It took me two years to officially dive into the BU after becoming an army and so I watch all the music videos in order and then I read both books and revisit the webtoon and even played the series that was on bts episode game and out of all that I can say if you want the full story of the BU read the two books because that will Get you through the whole hyyh series part and show the connection of the music videos to the love yourself music videos and it explain everything or you can just watch the music videos in order and try to figure out that way (which is very difficult cause it’s a lot babes😂)but if you want the full story I recommend the books
Can you tell me something about BU like in order MVs and names of books games and all content related to it
M two years old army but i don't try to understand BU coz take a lot of time nd complicated for me...but now after two and seeing army's comments and all it seems interesting to know about it and more connect with BTS...pls tell me when you get time to reply I'll thankful for you and also tell did you understand everything about it 🙏🥰💜
Where do you get the books?
i love the webtoon so much. it's really amazing. and the notes 2, oh my god. i can't even put it into words.
TELL ME THE BOOKS
Ah yes. The song that IS JIMIN PARK! Iconic 💜
FYI, actually they have two webtoons called:
"Save me" and "7 fates CHAKHO"
this mv is such a masterpiece, not just because of the B.U but fitting in the whole concept of the song and the album and the book Damien, i mean everything just matches so perfectly.
This song is the reason I'm here today. ❤️😭
About the BU, yes there are books that THEY release themselves and also there are videogames & webtoons. Also highlight reels, notes... And yeah, is too much but it's also SO FUN
BS&T the song that changed the whole kpop industry literally
Classic. Jimin iconic intro. Melody by Jimin. Thanks Anyway pls watch MMA 2016 BTS too. Thanks
Jin jin jin..his acting here is everything ..so charismatic💜💎
A few famous artists, especially rappers, mention that the best lyrics comes from an actual discussion they had. Real discussion draw on personal experience, knowledge you had, stories you heard, historical context, and psychology. This way the song is able to draw from material. Just like how the Map of the Soul was actually pulled from Jung's Map of the Soul book. Carl Jung's theories created for psychology. BTS have those healthy relationships where they do talk about concepts and are able to grow individually to grow as a group.
Ohh 😯 I love jimin's move with the jacket 💜💜💜
😉💜 It will make sense so much more after you've seen it all
the mv reaction starts at 10:26
There's always a behind the scenes for every video if you want to watch how it was made 😊
Love your reactions! 💜
BST got me into BTS for the 1st time. And also got me being Jimin bias instantly. So it's one of the most special song for me. As now I'm an Army for 7 year since wings era.💜💜💜
This is my favorite jimin's era💯🔥
This is one of the first BTS MVs I watched and I was instantly hooked 💜
Lmao honestly, you guys have the chaotic energy and im here for it.
The Queen! BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS💜
THE ICONIC SONG
Most people don’t know about the BU and the storyline which is like the best part! So I’m glad you’re learning about that
Yes please make more longer videos of you guys talking about BTS or random stuffs, it's so fun to watch. I don't even skip your intros, it's so entertaining plus the editor is great! It makes it even funnier 😁
I'm a silent viewer, i don't usually comment so yeah just wanted to say this since you guys are starting to become my favorite reactors of BTS!
And I hope you guys dive into the BU once you're all ready! I won't give the details since some ARMYs will provide it 🤣 but know that I'll be waiting for any BTS reaction you got 😁👍💜💜
I love how you guys really put in the effort to research stuff to have a deeper understanding of what you’re reacting to. It shows genuine interest ❤
There's actually a comic/webtoon about the universe lol. Bighit wanted to go beyond just a music company and wanted to release different types of media to expand the experience. So books, games, comics, drama, music. It's everywhere
this exact album and song catapulted them to the next level
Yay I been waiting I been refreshing my UA-cam since 9😂💜💜💜BS&T one of the many songs that made me fall in love with BTS💜thank you for the videos they always make my day so glad y’all enjoyed the song I knew you would🤭
This is the song which made me an army 😇💜
Este MV hizo que me interesara más en ellos. La historia detrás de este video/canción es más profunda y algo oscura, es de mis favoritas, gracias por reaccionar
Okay my first experience with the BU was definitely overwhelming. I watched all MVs in order (there’s a playlist on youtube) and i sat in front of the tv with a notebook in hand and took down notes. It’s really profound and i had so much fun learning about all of it but at the end of the day, I’m still confused 😂
this is the era when i found them, the wings album had just been dropped and it was a Masterpiece, i remember reading the Demian book n everything
GUYS DO WATCH THE DANCE PRACTICE! As beaaauuutiful as the MV is, it doesn't capture most of the choreography, and you need to experience just how satisfying it is to watch the dance practice
Omg been waiting for this sooooooo eagerly .....I've been refreshing like every 5 minutes😂😂💜💜💜
And this beauty right here pushed me down the rabbit hole and I can never be grateful enough for the fall y'all 😌💜
Jimin wrote the melody of blood sweat & tears 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
The intro to their reacts looks like "RUN BTS 75" where they had to film a kdrama at home... fun and chaotic... 😂😂😂
You guys should also check out the MV behinds from their Bangtan bomb episodes. You will get to see how they filmed their videos and ITS REALLY COOL to see that they didn't use too much CGI!! 💜💜
i love your editor's edits haha so cute
ty :))
You know a lot of these MVs have the making of videos. They are fun and interesting to watch and surprise you with how the got certain shots.
The dance practice for this song is 🔥💜
If you want to see how they filmed this, watch the Fake Love MV Shooting Sketch. BTS builds all their sets and rarely uses CGI. All of the big MVs have a behind the scenes shooting sketch where you can see these sets
this song literally made me an army in 2018..
Props to all of you and Xen for all the hard work y'all put in 💜
thank u darling
Great intro Summer- i loved the reaction too and cant wait to see more🥰😃
It was Jungkook hanging from the swing. This video is iconic!! There is also a Bangtan Bomb of the behind the scenes of the video. You should check it out.
A HHHHHH JIMINNNNNNNN
This is the song/video that changed everything I think! It was sexy and beautiful and they all looked like works of art. Borahae 💜
I thought you guys won't post today and was gonna sleep but YAY THANKS GUYS!!!🤩🤩🤩
I know someone in the comments has probably already mentioned it but "On" music video is not part of the BU 😊 it was just a stunning music video. Also, the BU is very very complicated but very fun as well trying to decypher 😉
Borahae 💜
WE KNEW IT WAS BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS
Yes, we know!!!💜💜💜.
I seriously love to see your reactions please don't ever change💜💜
I love the honest point of view and the way you all pay attention to every different part
I loveeeee this channel so much, you guys are so funny and fun to watch #1 for me🥺
Summer your intro was sooo cute thank you. I love watching your bloopers or pre show bloopers 😅
It’s more than the melodies and the instruments used to make those melodies so I hope you will give give it a chance to help you understand and appreciate what BTS’ art truly means.
the legendary of all ❤️🔥❤️🔥 also excited for taehyung's birthday reactions🤩🤩🤩🤩
