Omg, what is this drop rate tonight? I farmed for the Watchdog' Greatsword for 2-3 hours before one finally dropped. It's one of the rarest weapons in the game.
I am not sure about Marika being a Giant. Because it is openly said that he is of the Numen race. As for the Radagon's red hair, he was probably cursed or something.
Not 100% sure but I don't think ıt was ever said that Radagon was present during war against Giants. So what if Giants or Fell God somehow cursed Marika instead. She tried to remove the cursed and it became a being of his own with Giants red hair
Radagon was indeed not there at the war of the giants from what we know, but the timeline for his showing up is a bit odd. I don't personally buy the "Radagon is a curse put on Marika by the Giants" because Radagon hates the giants more than anyone, so I just feel like if they wanted to punish her, they'd do a slightly better job than creating the ultimate Erdtree/Greater Will fanboy. Sure he's a foil to Marika, but he also empowers the tree that led to the fall of the giants
Radagon is more likely related to the Ancient Heroes of Zamor, which would explain his hatred of the Giants: he is referred to as both a "Champion" and a "Hero", and two of the Heroes Graves have Ancient Heroes of Zamor as bossfights; another has a Red Wolf of the "Champion" as a boss. And, of course, the Ancient Hero of Zamor in the Weeping Peninsula drops Radagon's Scarseal. @@Wraff
@@glip715Considering the importance placed on hair color, I don't buy him being ONLY Zamor. The Zamor also hated and fought with the giants, thus being allied with figures who despised them. So Radagon honoring one with his scarseal, and having a Zamor as a hero in the war against the giants makes sense by that fact alone. Radagon being red-haired pretty significantly ties him to the giants directly, thus making his self-hating all the more interesting. And his betrayal of them is very Seath-like as well.
@@Wraff I don't think it's likely he was "only" Zamor either, just that they appeared to have the most in common with him as a faction (as, other than the hair colour, Radagon has absolutely zero links with the Giants from what is presented in-game (unless you count all of Marika's actions...)). Personally, I believe he has always been one with Marika (as there's nothing to suggest otherwise in-game) which would make his heritage more Numen than not... but who knows; Radagon and his origins are one of the biggest mysteries in the game and I doubt the DLC is gonna elaborate either way. In any case, thank you for making and uploading these videos regularly; it's always fun to watch someone play this game for the first time who actually cares about the story which, imo, is the best part of this game!
I also always HAVE to kill the giant-giant-hands. Not because i think they are cool but because they dont respawn and i hate them SO much i cannot tolerate the knowledge they still exist in the world... Oh we got to Fire Giant! I remember that. Thats the fight where she completely misunderstood the mechanics for like half an hour >
Realization that Marika is bastard god(dess) of Fire Giants and Numen is probably my favorite lore moment in Fromsoft games. It also makes sense from Martinesque writing point of view. In his opinion, nothing is worth writing except conflict within human heart. And identity crisis of a schizophrenic god who despises themselves for their mixed heritage is exactly what Martin would write.
Yeah I go back and forth on that, it's possible she has mixed ancestry. It's also a very Fromsoft thing to create someone who betrays their background/culture leading to a genocide: Seath in DS1 being a great example of exactly that.

I literally got Fire Giant in 2 tries and misunderstood the mechs on the first try I don't know what you want from me 😭
