On field referees should not referee VAR they just stick up for their mates. Should be be separate referees operating VAR for fairness.
Pretty much is, unless it's a difficult decision. Makes sense, the VAR staff is there to solve issues with video proof. But what when George says its a pen but Ralph disagrees? They ask the ref to decide

Some referees love the sense of power and importance.
They are there to enforce the laws of the game, in favor of a more clean and fair game. With the health of the player in the highest of priority.
First yellow was clear, but that second could of easily been solved with a warning.
Refs can create huge games in favor of the fans but with decisions like these, that seems somewhat of a myth nowadays.

so not a penalty. the use of VAR needs to be reviewed and proper guidelines in place. and failings from that and referees need to have consequences. tired of lower teams being beaten by the big teams because of crap officials
The thing with VAR is that it can overturn clear and obvious errors. Who defines what a clear and obvious error is? It's just a personal opinion of a VAR official.
It was clearly a penalty. It's so disappointing to lose a game in that way. I sympathize. But that was clearly handled by the Wolves defender. The ball came almost straight down after hitting the defender. Why straight down?... because the ball hit the underside of the arm.

What's infuriating about football is that if the 2 Raul bookings had been the other way round, do you really think he would have been booked and therefore sent off for tapping Rodri's ankle? Not a chance. Saying that Raul is a total idiot and gets no sympathy from me.

This how City end up wining the league last year (2021/2022) season, you should see the other game Everton vs Man City. The ref literally robbed Everton off of a point while they were scrambling for relegation. So much so Everton wrote a letter to FA complaining what those officials did to them. Clear Penalty against Man City the ref refused to give it to Everton.

What I found unprofessional was professional footballers "applauding" the sending off.
Jimenez as many other players they do applauding every time they come out or finish a game to "thank" the supporters/the people assistance in the stadium regardless the reason. Isn't a sign of challenging the situation.
Credit to Wolves because they always defend very well in our home games! Nuno gave the blueprint how to beat us at home in October 2019 and Wolves played perfect tactics and were very patient scoring 2 in the last 10 minutes. Bruno played the same ultra defensive tactics but the ref Moss let City off the hook with his decisions.
Congrats to Palace and Vieira for playing very defensive tactics and scoring first in Manchester! Also credit to the ref Marriner because he related very well to their very defensive game plan and City had no plan B.
I attend every home game and was impressed with Southampton Palace and Wolves with the way they defended. City only scored 1 goal at home in those 3 home games and it was not even a pen. Wolves were down to 10 men and it was not even a red card for Jimenez. The problem is the ref Moss was in charge of our home games against Southampton and Wolves. He denied Southampton a clear pen.

Ok, so we know that the judgement of referees will always be different, even in the same league. But come on that did not deserve a double yellow card, the game was still 0-0, he didn't want to spend time or something, to me that was crazy.

Despite Raul's moment of madness and a scandalous penalty decision, some positives: Conor and Max out of this world, and despite the one error included in the highlights, Jose Sa had another good match. He was a hell of a signing.
There must be something else going on here when it's that clear and it's still given. Money can buy you anything.

Looking at the penalty given here and the one not called against City at Goodison park I just can't really comprehend the usage of VAR anymore. Both checked and both decisions should've been overturned.

Great effort by the team to just keep it at 1 goal even with all the poor judgement from the ref and being one man down for half the game against Man City it is not easy, great job on pulling together and still creating some chances.
Yellow card for blocking a free kick will always be given to "almost any" player but the name of the player and the club they represent will also influence on the ref regardless of what they say, a simple warning would have been enough. The first yellow card given to Jimenez, come on now that was not enough for a yellow card. Jimenez had been kicked and fouled over and any of those would have been clearly more yellow cards than that for what he was booked.
Penalty in my opinion could have gone either way, the ball hit his armpit but he raised his arm on the play so I think that is what probably the ref took into consideration.
Still this game should have been a draw or wolves could have gotten the 3 points taking into account Man. City had a game during the week.

the point of 352 is to control midfield or at least to prevent rival from controling midfield and when you see that the formation is not working then change it to 343 or 433 !
Ridiculous referee
It is clearly a penalty. The ball is traveling upward, hits the underside of the arm and goes back down to the ground. If it only hit the body, it would bounce off and continue upward. It hit the arm and came back down. It's "handling." It's a penalty.

Leeds had one against Chelsea that was a disgrace. This one was also " scandalous" . Apparently,VAR will not overturn an on the pitch decision unless " an obvious mistake he's being made" . What that means is anyone's guess. Wolves were "robbed" and so were Leeds.

Don't misunderstand me about stopping the free-kick - I _did_ say it was daft, and if that's a yellow in the rulebook, then fine. My point is that you see that being done all the time though, but 9 times out of 10, you don't see players getting booked for it. As far as I'm concerned, Wolves were robbed of 2 points, cos that penalty decision is one of the most baffling ones to this day.
