Smiley0815 i think of all time at the olympics!! don’t quote me though i’m not quite sure. to me, nastia and then aliya are the best bar workers of all time.
...great routine but Shawn got robbed her beam, floor, and bars were much better and more difficult with the exception of the vault...elegance has its place but Shawn combines both evenly, cleanly and with impeccable POWER...!!!
I quite miss when gymnastics was on ABC-- I thought Bart Conner and Kathy Johnson did a great job. NBC is the main place for gymnastics in the US now, with Tim Dagget and Nastia Liukin (and of course, Elfi Schlegel from 1992-2012)
Nastia was a Drop-Dead total knockout, & the contrast between she & Shawn Johnson was classic. Totally differing styles, & qualities, it was a magnificent duel, all the way, with both giving it everything they had. --------------WolfSky9
nathaliexlr8, I know this is years old but I agree, lol. When she said that I said out loud, “umm, no it’s not supposed to be connected. How do you not know this?” But then I realized it was the British commentators...☺️
I feel like this was the best she ever did that routine! Especially the landing of her dismount, she has never landed such a hard dismount as well as this.
I miss this team not that the 2012 Olympic team wasn't good. Obviously they were they won gold, but there was just something about these girls and their talent in 2008 that was just amazing.
I always felt like if she had made that dismount much more organized she could have blown those other scores out of the ocean. I felt like if she had hit a perfect dismount especially in this routine being the TF she would have lifted the team up a revolving amount more.
These British commentators obviously don't watch American routines very often. Otherwise she would've known that the kip between the release move and Pak was planned all along lol Nastia didn't make mistakes during her routine throughout these Olympics, except on the dismount.
I know, after I posted this question, I watched the all video and I saw that. Anyway, thanks ;) i don't know why it appeares like spam :O (sorry for my bad English, I'm Italian ;))
I love how everyone was totally supporting each other. Like, when Liukin finished her routine everyone were cheering. You don't see things like that in London, it was every gymnast for herself. It saddens me how downhill artistic gymnastics is going nowadays. Beijing was far, far better than London.
i thought this was pretty overscored, but it's not exactly her fault - the routine is really long and there's way too many casts to handstand which incur more deductions
more casts to handstands -> more probability that you're going to miss the handstand. and nastia misses quite a few of her casts to handstand. you'll see that all the current routines have as minimal casts to handstand as possible because it's so easy to get hammered on the execution of those skills.
Nastia and Aliya Mustafina are very similar. Nastia is the Queen of Bad Form on double salto elements while Aliya the Queen of Bad Form on twisting elements.
The fact that this got a higher score by .1 in the TF than Yang Yilin is a joke!!! Yilin was perfect and I mean PERFECT. Nastia had short handstands, late handstands, bent arms, bent legs, that AWFUL cowboy and a step on landing.
A 16.900 for this routine is ludicrous and laughable. Late on handstand before Geinger, gets stuck in a handstand before the pak, poor form on pak, bent legs on giants, cowboyed and flexed feet on dismount, and step on the landing.
Ugly form and bent leg past low bar, even level 1 gymnastics instructor yell at about the importance of form, but she expect UB gold with that ugly form...
Wish she got this score in the event finals :')
Gold medal worthy and highest bar score of those games!
Smiley0815 i think of all time at the olympics!! don’t quote me though i’m not quite sure. to me, nastia and then aliya are the best bar workers of all time.
This was the highest score of any event, women and men, in these games.
I watch this every time it comes up in my recs
Nastia is and always will be absolutely amazing and a champion. This routine was perfection.
...great routine but Shawn got robbed her beam, floor, and bars were much better and more difficult with the exception of the vault...elegance has its place but Shawn combines both evenly, cleanly and with impeccable POWER...!!!
@@mooncloudplayz1633they were not lmao
The commentators were so nice. Lovely to hear.
I know. Sometimes I get really annoyed with the USAs commentators.
anyone better than ABC hahaha
I quite miss when gymnastics was on ABC-- I thought Bart Conner and Kathy Johnson did a great job. NBC is the main place for gymnastics in the US now, with Tim Dagget and Nastia Liukin (and of course, Elfi Schlegel from 1992-2012)
Nastia what a champion! Such beautiful, elegant lines. So different than the typical dynamos the US produces. I love our dynamos btw!
She has such beautiful elegant lines.
I remember literally holding my breath until her dismount!!
Pretty, and amazing Uneven Bar skills. Pretty supportive how her teammates are for her.
I also love how supportive her teammates were. Awesome!
Nastia was a Drop-Dead total knockout, & the contrast between she & Shawn Johnson was classic. Totally differing styles, & qualities, it was a magnificent duel, all the way, with both giving it everything they had. --------------WolfSky9
Yessd
Agree!!!
Christine probably should've done a little more research. Nastia's pak salto was NOT supposed to be connected to her Tkachev. Lol.
nathaliexlr8, I know this is years old but I agree, lol. When she said that I said out loud, “umm, no it’s not supposed to be connected. How do you not know this?” But then I realized it was the British commentators...☺️
I feel like this was the best she ever did that routine! Especially the landing of her dismount, she has never landed such a hard dismount as well as this.
Her dismount is the same as a double front, which I believe is a D dismount... So it's not that hard.
That dismount looks like a spider
That dismount looks like a spider
she slayed that shit
she fr did
I miss this team not that the 2012 Olympic team wasn't good. Obviously they were they won gold, but there was just something about these girls and their talent in 2008 that was just amazing.
Sam Peszek was a waste of space!
Verdade, elas eram incríveis não só boas em um único aparelho eram boas em TODOS
Its so cool how they do such a big dismount in so little room
Amazing just outstanding
what an amazing dismount!
Beautiful!
thank you! :)
i always come bacl to this
What a remarkable dismount....Wow!!!!
awesome routine!
@sperruzza90 She tied with He Kexin, but there was a tie breaking procedure, and Nastia got the silver. She is a World Champion on the event though
love nastia
she really ate this shit
alicia’s reaction after nastia nailed her dismount is so cute :’)
I still think we got robbed of a gold medal in Beijing.
Alicia at the end was so cute omg
no. Gymnastics is colder now. One example is that when Wieber cried when she got eliminated, none of the team members came to comfort her.
Seeing Alicia so happy here makes me a bit sad. After this event, the 2008 TF all goes downhill for her.
Maybe the last so graceful gymnast!
Wow
she didnt say it was connected she said she thought it was meant to be, but that nastia added the upstart for safety..
Sam wasn't used for vault because of her injury. Nastia vaulted in prelims.
too bad her scores in the Olympic trials weren't consistent. She has the most PERFECT bar routines ever.
thank you :) so then alicia, sam and bridget were just used for vault?
I always felt like if she had made that dismount much more organized she could have blown those other scores out of the ocean. I felt like if she had hit a perfect dismount especially in this routine being the TF she would have lifted the team up a revolving amount more.
These British commentators obviously don't watch American routines very often. Otherwise she would've known that the kip between the release move and Pak was planned all along lol Nastia didn't make mistakes during her routine throughout these Olympics, except on the dismount.
has she won then the gold on unevenbars?
No Christine, the tkatchev is NOT to connect to the pak salto. Get it right.
16.900 wtf woooooow
no, she tied with He kexin and because a tie isn't allowed anymore she got second
I know, after I posted this question, I watched the all video and I saw that. Anyway, thanks ;)
i don't know why it appeares like spam :O
(sorry for my bad English, I'm Italian ;))
What was the score?
it's the Olympics.
Age is just a number, unless you're younger than 16.
anyone know the difficulty value of this routine?
7.7
16.9
even if samantha wasnt injured nastia still would have vaulted in qualifications to get into the all around
16.900
Es el desmonté que hacía Grudneva
What was her score here?
Lexi Gould 16.9 :)
The PAC was not supposed to be connected

No!
who competed for the USA in uneven bars? chellsie memmel, nastia liukin and..? thanks for the info! xx
she doesn't even really bend the legs its more of a arch, some woga gymnasts obviously bend but this doesn't really look like that
Who was on the floor?
Marine Petit from France
I believe 16.9
shawn johnson
Umm that was just with the American team, did you actually saw the Russians?
The kip cast handstands here looks a bit laboured when compared to her usual style.
i thought this was pretty overscored, but it's not exactly her fault - the routine is really long and there's way too many casts to handstand which incur more deductions
Cast to handstands dont incur deductions, it just doesnt allow connection value
more casts to handstands -> more probability that you're going to miss the handstand. and nastia misses quite a few of her casts to handstand.
you'll see that all the current routines have as minimal casts to handstand as possible because it's so easy to get hammered on the execution of those skills.
asava17 that's far from the truth
other chinese gymnasts fell too.
Nastia and Aliya Mustafina are very similar. Nastia is the Queen of Bad Form on double salto elements while Aliya the Queen of Bad Form on twisting elements.
Shawn Johnson.
oops k sorry.
But I still think Beijing was better than London :)
Yeah but it wasn't mean't to be thats the thing! Nastia has never connected those two skills!
Her legs were so skiny it doesn't look good
Actually it was consistent since she messed up on all of them.
