In romantic novels, men are depicted as rivals. Pitted to fight each other to prove their love for the fair maiden.
In real life, these stories have no good ending. The maiden is not fair. She has to be constantly showered with attention. Men get tired of constantly proving their love. And the happy ending becomes a nightmare.
Men, by nature, are providers, protectors, and problem solvers.
They may not communicate it well, but for the most part. By majority. Men want to be husbands. Fathers. Providers and defenders of their home.
If abusive, manipulative, and disrespectful actions are present in them. That is not love. That’s control.
There is also the flip side.
Women are naturally nurturers, mothers, care takers, house keepers and homesteaders.
