I love small channels that don't do it for money, it means I get good content and learn new things, and don't get bombarded with sponsorship messages

Glad you're enjoying it. It's hard to get sponsors for videos that discuss cameras that were made 40 years ago. Plus not everything I say is positive about them.lol

Interesting channel analytics. Thank you for sharing the info and helping to go behind the curtain of the UA-cam monetary scenes.
Given that the months are varying in viewing time etc have you analysed what type of videos get higher numbers and will that direct the channel forward with regard to photographic direction etc.
In terms of your costs as you say you are in it for fun which for most film photographers these days is true.
Equally sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate- so please shooting and issuing the videos and keep your channel growing.
Have you though of a series of videos showing how you print the photographs/ how you choose and select the images to print/ what papers best - all dark room help would be very helpful

Thanks. I have checked what videos get more attention.... digital camera reviews... but it's not something I'm interested in. Darkroom printing is in the plan though.

Thanks for doing this channel. Even though it is a passion project there is a sense of community which is rewarding. B+W film is a niche and that's all I do. I used to take a safe shot as well with a digital camera but found I was making a compromise of both. It is much better for me to just shoot film and if I mess up that's on me but sometimes with film the most unexpected shot once developed becomes the best. Don't get me started on the obsession with sharpness... Cheers and regards.

Thanks for your insights. My view not doing such videos (yet?):
At end it all depends (mostly) what 'you' want to achieve. E.g.
Photographing or staging photography in video. The later conflicts for many YT photographer with photography itself as long you have not an 'assistant' to do the video for you. Staging photography is like you would do in the movie world: act, direct, shoot and being best boy, key grip, driver and many more in one person.
Staging photography can be accelerated by "lifestyle" like a James Bond movie via exotic locations, girls or in general 'freedom' lifestyle like the 'Marlboro Man' or equivalents for female.
For talking about photography, gear review, lab techniques etc. Here it depends all what you choose from. Leica is still good. New gear for a mass market also.
In general, everything the audience is more or less longing for seems to be helpful for the YT business.
But you are doing not so bad with niche, could be worse..
like me shooting at moment also on 9x12 on X-ray (mamo) film "Fuji UM-MA HC" heading to go ULF 24x30 (mamo film) and 30x40 (normal x-ray film) hopefully around end of year.
Or you do it for fun ...
    ---
Background I: I started to use X-ray film on 9x12 as material test for the ULF formats, but I continued simply due to price benefits to practice: 9x12 film cost is ~ 20ct / sheet. Why 9x12 and not 4x5''. Simple answer: the X-ray film comes in e.g. in 18x24 and cuts nicely in 9x12 with a roto trim. As bonus being ortho sensitive like the Ilford Ortho it can be handled in red light.
Background II: Having shot analog for ~25 years primary (135, a bit 120 and 9x12) and since 2012 only digital, I came back to 120 and 9x12 in 2022.

How do you make a small fortune from photography?
Start with a large one and pray…

Photography, even without a youtube channel, is a black hole of expense. And you didn't even account for your time which, presumably, has some value!

I think a company like "Ford" could take loses for years. A small UA-cam channel, I'm sure you would get audited right away. lol
